I finished my Pharmacy Tech schooling (including externship)in Jan. 2010 from the Ontario campus. My GPA was 3.93 and was highly recommended by my teacher, who, by the way, was absolutely excellent. He taught things and answered questions that nurses or even doctor didn't know. However,my problem was not the education I received. It has to do with the career placement dept.

They got me one,yes one, interview with an actual Pharmacy. They sent me to a couple places that "packed" pills to be mailed out and got so desperate about their reputation, they sent me to a couple places that didn't even have to do with phar-macies; they were the type of jobs that I held in the past. I went to UEI to get away from "those other types of jobs" because they were unstable and I was always getting laid-off.

Now, if that wasn't stupid enough, they would e-mail me potential jobs to look into (however, that e-mail was going to everyone in the school in the Pharmacy Tech dept.)So much for the "personal touch". They were pretty much the same jobs e-mailed the day before and the day before that.

BUT, this wasn't even the tip of the iceberg! Half the time they weren't even paying attention to what they were e-mailing. They would e-mail me letters to apply at other technical schools like Kaplan, ACC and others.

I'm going to stick my neck out to get chopped off, but what the heck, I still have no job, I lost my home, have a gov't loan to pay back and had to move in with my son and his family. First, there are dozens of these schools out there spitting out grads every month, not to mention the Jr. Colleges and Universities. That means the market is flooded. If you're not bilingual, forget about it. OK, here comes the kicker, if you are white, male and middle aged, save your time and money.

Go into the pharmacies around town and see who is working there. The pharmacies are hiring family members, friends of other techs, friends of friends, etc, etc. My problem is not with the young men and women getting hired, more power to them; that's just the way it is. However, I think the some of career councilors aren't on the up and up, either. What does anybody in the school care, anyway. They're getting a paycheck.

So, if you are a WASP, young or old, save your money and go to truck driving school.

WELL I STARTED U.E.I A MONTH AGO AT SANMARCOS CAMPUS. I LIKE IT SO FAR, THE INSTRUCTORS HERE ARE EXTREMELY HELPFUL THEY WILL HELP YOU IF YOU NEED IT, THEY EVEN OFFER TO STAY AFTER SCHOOL AND DO PRIVATE LABS WITH YOU UNTIL YOU LEARN HOW TO WHAT YOURE HAVING TROUBLE WITH. THE INSTRUCTORS ARE PATIENT AND TRY TO TEACH IT IN A WAY YOU WILL LEARN (BC EVERYBODY LEARNS DIFFERENTLY)THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT I KNOW THAT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THIS SCHOOL ARE THOSE WHO JUST SLACK OFF IN CLASS, THEY CONSTANTLY TALK AND DO WHATEVER THEY PLEASE AND THEN THEY WHINE AND COMPLAIN ON HOW THEY ARE FAILING. PEOPLE GROW THE FUCK UP.

THIS ISNT HIGH SCHOOL ANYMORE ,..IF YOU WANT TO BE AN IDIOT AND PAY 15,000 TO GO TO A SCHOOL WHERE YOURE JUST GONNA SLACK OFF AND NOT DO SHIT..AND EXPECT TO PASS AND GET YOUR DIPLOMA AND A FUCKEN JOB THEN U.E.I ISNT THE SCHOOL FOR YOU. YOU FUCKEN LAZYASSES. OTHER THAN THAT I LOVE THIS SCHOOL.

THIS SCHOOL IS HORRIBLE, MY BOYFRIEND ATTEND THIS SCHOOL FOR PHARMACY TECHNICIAN. WHENEVER HE NEEDED HELP THE TEACHER NEVER REALLY HELPED HIM MUCH. HE SAYS THE TEACHER SEEMS LIKE SHE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE IN PHARMACY TECH. THE TEACHER DOESN'T CARE IF YOU TURN IN YOUR HOMEWORK OR NOT, SHE STILL LET YOU GRADUATE FROM SCHOOL. THE STAFF THEIR ARE NOT FRIENDLY, ALL THEY THINK ABOUT IS MONEY MONEY MONEY.

I SEEN THEIR COMMERCIAL MANY TIMES ON T.V AND IT MAKES ME SICK BECAUSE IS ALL LIE!! DON'T BE FOOL BY THEIR FAKE ADVERTISEMENT. THEY DO NOT HELP YOU GET A JOB NOR DO THEY CARE IF YOU GET IT OR NOT. MY BOYFRIEND WAS LUCKY TO GET HIRE AT HIS INTERNSHIP. A COUPLE OF MY FRIENDS WENT THEIR FOR PHARM. TECH AND ITS BEEN 1 YEAR FOR THEM ALREADY AND THEY HAVENT GOT A JOB. U.E.I HAD TOLD THEM WILL THEY FINISH THEY WILL HELP THE STUDENTS GET A JOB, ITS NOT TRUE.

ALSO, AFTER MY BF GRADUATE, THEY WOULD SEND HIM MANY LETTERS REMINDING HIM TO PAY HIS LOANS. EVERY LETTER AND PHONE CALLS WAS REGARDING TO MONEY. HE RECIEVED A PHONE CALL AFTER 3 DAYS HE FINISHED THE PROGRAM, AND THEY TOLD HIM TO GO THERE, BECAUSE HE OWES THEM MONEY. THEY ACTUALLY TOLD HIM HE OWE THEM 3K MORE THAN HE SUPPOSE TO PAID..

ANNYWAYS ITS A REALLY BAD SCHOOL. I WAS THINKING ABOUT GOING THERE BUT AFTER ALL THE THINGS I SEE HAPPENED TO THE PEOPLE I KNOW, I RATHER GO TO A JR COLLEGE.

I would not recommend this school after having a HUGE problem with my Dental Teacher. XRAYS seem to be my problem, i get no help from teachers who say they know it all. I have gone to supervisors and they dont do CRAP about it. This school is nothing but lies dont waste your money. My last day is in OCT thank god. My teacher thats all she does is yell. She thinks things get accomplished by yelling.

Please whoever is out there be careful where you send you or your kids to school. Its not worth the money or the time

I've had a great experience while attending the UEI college in Van Nuys. I graduated with a diploma in Medical Billing and Insurance Coding and was hired right away.

I liked the hands-on training. They really make sure you understand what you are doing. I got hired at my externship site and I'm making good money.

The campus is in the middle of Van Nuys. The outside is not impressive, but the classrooms are clean and organized. All the instructors have real world experience and education. They really helped me out because I barely made it through high school.

This campus really helped me get my life together. They are far better than ICDC, Kaplan, or Everest. I have friends that went to each one and none of them are working. Everyone I know that has gone to UEI has a job.

Don't let others discourage you. Go in and see for yourself. They are making it happen and I am so happy to have attended.
