"The master's program I entered assumed that I had background in Education. which I did not. I felt like I had to play catch up quite a bit to get where the other student's were. I did not have a supportive counselor in the college of education, and should have requested a transfer to another academic advisor/counselor."

"The schooling, so far has been good. The professors I've had are helpful and responsive. The coursework has been relevant, helpful, and relates to the work I'll be doing as a social worker. The biggest downfall is that the school is large so scholarships, directly from the school, are hard to come by which leaves students with loans and lots of out of pocket expenses. Your best bet for getting books cheaper is to rent or buy from amazon. They are almost double the price at the bookstore. Overall, I give the school a 7/10."

"It was a cheaper option than most schools. With the price came some compromise in quality of education and the entire experience. there's no such thing as a 4 year degree at this school."

"Our program is really fantastic in that its students will graduate with two licenses from one program: a Professional Counseling license as well as the Marriage and Family Therapy license. It is the only school in the country that is dually accredited. There have been many administrative reforms happening since I have become a student, especially from the president of the university, but the program still remains strong!"

"My undergraduate work was at the College of Wooster and going to a small liberal arts school was the best decision I ever made. It's about so much more than the classwork. College should not be viewed as a technical school it should be viewed as an experience and I think Wooster provided that. My graduate work was more clinically based but it was very helpful and I am very proud of the degree I will be receiving and the work I put in to get there. My college education is invaluable and I am so happy I chose what I did."

"The University of Akron is a great institution for higher learning. The engineering, polymer science, and nursing programs are all very strong. I wish the biology department would have had a larger budget to offer a wider variety of environmental biology classes. The atmosphere on and around campus is great. Not a huge school in which you get lost but not too small in which you would miss out on the true college experience. Earning my B.S.in Biology at the University of Akron has allowed me to become employed by the U.S.Fish and Wildlife Service."

"This program is fantastic. Their is so much support given by faculty members and professors within the program. There have been some cons with some of my professors, but overall they are extremely qualified and knowledgeable about the subject and the practicality of the work. My academic adviser is sensational and goes out of his way to provide information and support from day one. Chi Sigma Iota is available to become a part of and all of the members are extremely friendly and passionate about the work they are involved in. The area and campus are adequate, although some of the amenities and services outside of the program are less reliable. Overall my experience in this program and on this campus have been extremely positive!"

"I went in the evenings as I worked full time during the day. For a working mother, it was convenient. The content of the courses in my major was redundant however, and the degree seemed to be 'fluff.' I also took off campus classes and still had to pay full tuition, which was ridiculous because we had none of the amenities campus offered. We didn't even have wi-fi!"

"I think that The University of Akron has a great MBA program. The faculty is experienced and majority of the classes have offered valuable learning outcomes. The only down side to the program is that some courses are poorly structured and do not optimize the limited time the student has with the instructor. Some professors use the long class periods to tell stories--which can be valuable in moderation--however, often take up the entire time. Overall, the campus is nice and is reasonably priced. There are many assistantship opportunities if you look hard enough."

"The college of nursing adequately prepared me to pass my NCLEX/boards. It is close to so many hopsitals for clinicals including a pediatric hospital. The program has advanced technology to aide in learning i.e. sim man for simulations."

"The University of Akron does a great job at funding their students. They have grants and community internships available to students to support their career goals. They have great connections with local schools and prepare you to work with children. One of the program disadvantages, they do not provide hospital experiences for individuals interested in swallowing disorders."

"Pro- Well rounded classes the cover the entire scope of Arts Administration. Feel prepared to enter into the field. Great projects, classroom discussions, and guest speakers. Con- Advertised as evening classes but many of the times events and classes are held before 5pm. Not assisted much in the way of career services. No scholarships, financial aid (other than gov. loans) grants of any sort."

"The small size of U of A's biology department was a major asset to myself and my classmates. Faculty, staff, and students were all eager to lend a hand and there was a lot of emphasis on integrative learning and research. The nice thing about Akron is that they are able to give attention to detail and actually deliver on the integrative methods they advertise. The only down side for me, was that this smaller city had limited public transportation which I would have preferred to driving."
