"For Biomedical graduate work, U of C is a wonderful place to study. The faulty support is amazing. The breadth and creativity of research is hard to beat."

"I absolutely loved my experience at UChicago. My favorite part was getting to live and learn with people who were like me - bookish, passionate, and curious. UChicago undergrads, grads, and professors are some of the smartest people I've ever met and I have learned so much from them. I will say one thing, though: it's not for everyone. The workload is intense and not always forgiving."

"If you're already interested in the U of C, you're probably a good fit! Otherwise, why would you want to join a group of serious nerds who proudly proclaim their allegiance to the place "where fun comes to die?" I loved most of my classes, met people I could commune and compete with, and deeply enjoyed the life of the mind during my years at UChicago. So much so, indeed, that I went back for another degree."

"This is a wonderful University though perhaps a bit pretentious. If you want an incredibly academic atmosphere and be in school with incredibly smart co-students, this is the place for you."

"I am a first year Graduate Student at the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration. The program's focus on social justice consistently challenge's students regardless of their area of focus (clinical or administration) to consider how they can apply course concepts to larger societal issues. In addition to exemplary academics, the school offers a tremendous amount to students in term of networking and career support. The University works hard to ensure students are connected to opportunities that empower them to make a difference within their communities and truly apply classroom content."

"The academic atmosphere here is really great, where everyone is excited about new sciences. The faculty are among top researchers in their areas of interest, bringing state-of-the-art research ideas into the program. The program, however, does not have good diversity in terms of gender and race."

"By far one of the best MBA programs, if not outright the best. I am very glad to have been accepted, and very happy to study here."

"Pros: good variety of high quality advanced courses; accessible, friendly and supportive faculty; lots of interesting ongoing research within the department. Cons: inflated pricing for housing in campus area; health insurance is sub-optimal; involvement and support from faculty is uneven across sub-fields."

"The University of Chicago is a challenging graduate school, and the faculty really push their students to produce quality work. The stress can be difficult to manage but the school provides more than adequate mental health resources to help students cope."

"I'm very happy with the Cell and Molecular Biology program at UChicago, though I think this isn't necessarily because of the classes or campus safety, but because of the lab that I joined. One thing that I like about UChicago is that a lot of the research is graduate student driven. There are postdocs, but it seems like a majority of the labs aren't postdoc-centered, and grad students have a good opportunity to have interesting projects. However, the classes are really hit or miss, and in many cases the faculty don't seem to care much about taking feedback on how they can improve them (even if there are obvious ways in which the class could be improved that are mentioned every year). One other benefit is being near Chicago--Hyde Park isn't downtown Chicago, but Chicago is accessible if you want to do something downtown, so there's always something to do! In addition, Dean's Council for BSD and the individual departments do a good job of sponsoring a lot of activities, so there are usually cool events that you can go to for free/cheap. The experiences of students vary, but overall it's my impression that the MolBio students are happier at UChicago than at other similar institutions."

"It may have changed in the near-decade since I graduated, but the University of Chicago is a wonderful school of self-selecting students. You can go there and be yourself, and you'll certainly find your group. This, on top of the world-class education you'll receive."

"I hated my college. My social life was bleak, the advisers there are incompetent, the administration corrupt. It was so lonely there."

"The College is top-notch for rigorous academics. Students interested in serious study of classic liberal arts will thrive. Students with mental health issues are not as well supported as at other universities though."

"Attending the University of Chicago was the best decision I've ever made. I found it to be a profoundly stimulating and intellectual place, and loved the opportunity to be immersed in a liberal arts environment with others who truly loved learning. Chicago is also an amazing city; I know people jump on the idea that UChicago is in a "bad part of town", but as someone who's now lived in the area for over 8 years, I LOVE Hyde Park and found it to be a vibrant, safe place to live (honestly, it feels like a college town plopped inside of a major city). I've had excellent career/professional opportunities and wound up getting in to (and now attending) a great grad school program as a result of my UChicago experience."

"My time at UChicago was incredible, I loved the school and the people. The core curriculum is a cornerstone of their philosophy and I think helpful in many ways. As I majored in Computer Science I wouldn't have had much opportunity to get such a well rounded education without it, but with it I studied many humanities subjects that have helped me tremendously. The Computer Science majors tends to a more theoretical focus rather than practical application. Working as a software engineer now I can say that while I wish there had been slightly more information on software engineering, the theoretical background has helped me pick up information and learn quickly in my job."

"Attending the University of Chicago Booth School of Business has been one of the best experiences of my life. In class, I am surrounded by some of the brightest minds in fields ranging from Business Marketing to Geophysics, bringing together ideas that will change the future of our shared economy. The student body is diverse and welcoming. At Chicago Booth, we always say that "ideas compete, students collaborate". Nowhere else have I ever been in such a collaborative environment where every single person, from the professors to the students sitting next to me, are fully invested in my success. I am a full-time working professional, yet I believe the workload is manageable. Every day that I am on campus, I am inspired, energized and motivated to work towards my dreams and achieve the impossible."
