"The Social Work program is a disaster, from MSW to DSW. Faculty are not prepared to teach, they have no reviewed the syllabus, and can’t answer questions. Courses a poorly constructed. Faculty give no feedback and take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to grade your work. The DSW program is pure busy work. Faculty don’t even understand rules around plagiarism. Save yourself the stress and stay away."

"During my undergrad years, I went to the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, which is located in Northeast part of the state. I really enjoyed attending the University of Kentucky. From the onset, the university made me feel like I was important and matter. There was a recruiter that came to my area of Kentucky, the Southwest near Tennessee, and explained the opportunities at the college. Since I was a scholar with excellent academic grades, he shared the funding and scholarships that I could receive. He also spoke of the programs that supported people of color and that would make my college entrance easier. My family really like all of the ideas that he had shared and we decided that this university would be the best fit for me. Following his advice, I enrolled in a Freshmen Summer Program for scholars of color before the start of Freshmen classes. This program allowed me to connect with scholars of similar backgrounds (i.e. feel like I belonged) and to complete two challenging classes, Algebra and African American Literature, which helped me feel more prepared for college. My journey throughout college only continued to get better in regards to feeling like I mattered and that I could succeed. I was able to connect with professors during their office hours or via email; I was able to go to homework or classroom support center if I needed additional support; and I was able to have a voice on campus through various student groups. Even though I was an introvert, several individuals reached out to me and encouraged me to be a student leader. I joined a community engagement program, a student leadership program, a diversity group, and an anti-violence group. I felt very connected throughout my time at the University of Kentucky and am still in touch with many people from the school. I definitely recommend the University of Kentucky for scholars. The living quarters, resources, scholarship, student engagement, and learning opportunities are all phenomenal."

"I really enjoyed UK! Many people say it is a "bigger" school and you can definitely feel lost in it, but there are so many ways to get involved on campus and find your sense of community within the larger campus. There are tons of resources available to undergraduate students and it is a great place to learn about yourself."

"I loved UK. The school itself is big and feels like a different city within Lexington. Within the University, my college of Public Health is such an intimate college. I got close to my teachers and really have them as my guide throughout the whole process. The professors are all generally great at teaching the information and it was all form my perspective a great learning environment. There are so many clubs that you can join and being a part of a sorority there helped me find my place at UK. If I were to go back, I would choose UK all over again. 1000 times over if I had to."

"Classes are large for the biology program (as well as other popular degree programs) but there is ample on-campus assistance. There's are free tutoring facilites on campus for general courses such as chemistry, biology, statistics, and introductory writing courses. However, it is not difficult to obtain assistance from professors and teachers assistants for upper-level classes. The campus has a variety of ways to support students in their academic and personal growth-- there is truly a place for everyone here."

"The Music Education department at the University of Kentucky is simply one of the best in the country. Dr. Hetzel is not only a wealth of knowledge, but a tremendous person. She is supportive and kind, helpful and patient, and most of all, she has a deep passion for education in which she instills in all of us. I am honored to hold a degree in Music Education from the University of Kentucky."

"The University of Kentucky is a great that has faculty that are willing to help students understand the course material, but also have opportunities to collaborate with them on research and study abroad trips. Regardless in the department that a student is studying in- a student will get good education and practical skills in their field. What I liked about UK is K-Week, which kicks off every fall semester a full week before classes begin. It is a way for freshmen to make friends and get to know UK and the many student organizations. It was one of my favorite memories from there. As far as student life here goes, Greek life, especially in southern schools is huge. However, there are many organizations that students can join such as Choristers if a student like singing or SnowCats if a student likes skiing. In any fashion, a student can find activities that they like to do on campus. Going back to the academics, I can speak to the Political Science department because I was a political science major. I had the opportunity as part of my program, to do an internship with the Kentucky State legislature. I also got to write an honor thesis and present it at a national conference in front of fellow researchers and professors. There are resources for students to do internships within their career path and job shadow. UK is just as good as any public or private college."

"This program lacks structure. The name is what gets the students in the door but the program is so unorganized and placement sites provide little experience. Waste of your time and money unless you just need the diploma and not the education. Save yourself the time and money and do research when looking into a program, reach out to current or past students rather than relying on the colleges website."

"I think college is wonderful but not necessarily the right choice for everyone. Think about what your life and career goals are and decide if you want to go from there. Also consider the financial investment you will be making."

"I'm currently a Junior at UK and I can't express enough how grateful I am for this university. Not only do you get the chance to develop relationships with your professors in a professional way, but you foster lifelong friendships. All members of the faculty are eager to guide students along the way to reach their goals and pursue their wildest dreams. UK gave me a newfound confidence that I didn't know was inside as a first generation, Appalachian student. I feel an overwhelming amount of joy about the decision I made to further my education at this school. I couldn't possibly give it the praise it deserves, but if you're able to adapt and welcome the indepence, this is the school for you. At times it was a bit challenging to stay ahead, but meeting with your professors helps and they're always willing to give you a helping hand or advice on how you can do better. In the end, it's always worth it and you get the most out of the more challenging courses. Every outlet imaginable is at your fingertips. Go CATS!"

"I absolutely loved my time at UKC, challenging though the program was. Class sizes were small, which allowed for personal interaction with and attention from lecturers. Professors also went out of their way to give us hands-on experience in our field."
