"The Master's program in Clinical Psychological Science is in its nascency at the University of Maryland; it has only been around for a few years. However, they are doing a great job and striving to make the program better every day. It is a great milieu in which to improve one's knowledge, both academic and professional, of the world of clinical psychology. Also, many kudos to the faculty for emphasizing the science behind the treatment and research; no medical quackery here at UMd. Awesome instructors, great classes, good people."

"PROS: The program is very application-based, so the students learn hands-on skills. Additionally, all of the instructors are currently working in the field of interpretation or translation. This helps me be confident that their guidance and expertise is relevant and useful. CONS: Since the program is only about 2 years old, there are still some kinks that the directors have to resolve with the structure of classes and hiring of instructors. The quality of each class is determined by the individual instructor, so the breadth of experience and information gained by a student can vary."

"Pros: UMCP is located a few miles from the country's capital. This influences a lot of research grants from various government agencies which is very good for graduate students. UMCP has students from all parts of the world. You get to meet people from different cultural backgrounds and learn about other cultures Cons: Being so close to DC makes accommodation expensive in the area."

"I transferred from a small (~2,000 student) school to UMD my junior year. While I LOVED the larger student body, the larger class selection, and the larger activities selection, it was really hard to be a transfer student halfway through college. If you don't like where you are at after two semesters, transfer right away. College goes by so fast that any time spent unhappy is truly wasted."

"Pros: - Information system is a beautiful blend of management and technical subjects, this bridging the gap between the two. - While problem solving, we'll have the advantage of making use of both (management and technology) perspectives hence coming up with more practical and efficient solutions. Cons: - The only disadvantage that I can think of is that, if I wish to select an elective from a completely different department, for example the Psychology department, then that would be tough to achieve."

"I enjoy the flexibility of the Part Time program at UMD and their centralized location of their DC Campus. They could improve on their international business focus. Overall I believe they offer a great program that is competitive with all the other MBA programs in the area."

"The Smith School is very prestigious, but some of the professors are not at this caliber level. Other professors bring real life experience to the table which is exceedingly useful. The workload can be rigorous but it is do-able with a full time job."

"The program courses are very useful in the professional field. I have applied at least 80% of the information I have received from the program, improving considerably my performance as reliability engineer. All professors are experts in their fields and bring to the class a lot of interesting experiences. However, some of them do not prepare the classes. Therefore, the feeling about the respect we deserve as students is very disappointed sometimes. The technology to deliver the class has to be improved in order to be more interactive. In general, I recommend this program to reliability professionals."

"UMD has one of the most expansive network of alumni available and is seated directly next to Washington D.C. This creates a unique opportunity to tap into opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessable. The program however does lean towards the expensive side. If one is to begin the program they need to have a long term vision that they believe will be accomplished through an MBA."

"My program is 100% online. I cannot adequately rate the campus safety, social life, surround area, and transportation. However, I do get safety alerts through my email about events in the area that students should be aware about. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience thus far. Of course tuition could be lower, but considering I am an out-of-state student, the cost is expected."

"Horn Point Laboratory is a small but diverse environment for studying Oceanography and Fisheries Science. It is in a small town, but the student community is very close and there are ample social opportunities. The faculty are very accomplished and excellent resources for young scientists."

"It's a great place for public policy students to network and gain integral skills for their future jobs as policy makers. The professors are incredibly skilled and helpful. It's great that it's so close to Washington, D.C. However the PG county area is not that great, and the surrounding area is not as developed to make it a great town. Overall, it's a great value because it's excellent academically but extremely affordable."

"I had excellent experience with professors' response times, with one exception of a person who was teaching from Berkeley and did not seem to care about our particular class in Maryland. Some classes are definitely worth the money, such as the public library seminar and the core for serving information needs, but others suffer from either professors not caring, not knowing how to interact with students properly online, lecturing on ambiguous concepts that have almost no bearing on real life, or just not caring enough to ensure that students are learning something new and applicable. There is a great positive side to the program in the way you are mentally prepared for the field, but it lacks in practical application education. I look forward to the field study, and hope to take classes that would make me more prepared to actually work in a library, not just have the right mindset. I do also have to say that there is a great number of guest talks, seminars, and resume workshops that help enrich the experience, especially if you are near campus. The program coordinators are really great, so they do make everything a little easier and a little more pleasant for you."

"The program is very competitive and demanding and requires students to read, to think deeply and wisely, to participate actively in class discussion, and to learn for students themselves, not for anyone else. The program is small enough for students to know and interact with each other to learn and share lessons. The program creates many chances for students to meet and talk with professors, faculty, alumni and speakers coming to school. Students have opportunities to develop a broad career network and enhance writing, thinking, analyzing, and constructing arguments to prepare for a future career in public policy field. The program is very expensive and there are very limited chances to get a scholarship or financial aid for an international student. The cost of living in College Park is also very expensive for an international student like me."

"I study at the lab in Western Maryland where it is quiet and less diverse. Although it is far away from the other campuses we still have quite a bit of interaction with the other labs across the state. I have had great experiences already and everyday I feel lucky to be in the position that I am in attending University of Maryland. I study streams in the unique areas of Western Maryland and all the equipment I need is available along with additional help from staff members. I also have a great advisor who is very supportive and encourages creativity. The courses are taught across an Interactive Video Network system that allow me to take courses taught at other campuses and get to know the other students in the program, as well as the professors. As each of us are located in different parts of Maryland we learn about each others research and how it all relates, even though we are hours away. It's a collaborative way to study the Chesapeake Bay watershed and understand how so many factors affect its health. It deeply broadens our understanding and encourages interdisciplinary work."

"This program is truly awesome. The faculty is beyond compare and I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in this program. They not only help you to develop your ideas but they also help you learn about your personal work style and how to adjust and complement it with additional team members. I could not be more pleased!"

"The graduate program was competitive and helped me in my educational field. It was difficult to get to class while working as a full time teacher. The online classes did help to make the degree easier. The biggest con was the availability of courses during the semester - most classes are only offered in the Fall and there are many classes offered to only students who wish to receive certification."

"Luckily, my graduate program is a continuation of my undergraduate work. I was taking special education classes for the first four years of my undergraduate career and now I will be attending Maryland again for a fifth year for graduate school. It is for my masters in becoming a special education teacher. This is beneficial because I already have been introduced to the professors, school, academics, and a field placement. My undergraduate classes had me in a placement in a classroom as an intern 3 days a week half day, which prepared me for graduate school. This helped ease me into the classroom where I will be teaching 5 days a week. Unfortunately, the issues with my graduate school program is the expensive cost and that I will only be certified in Maryland (when I want to go back home to New York and teach)."
