"i am really happy here, the school is great. Classes are really dynamic and the place is nice. The surrounding areas have a lot of places for outdoors which in my case are really great. I really enjoy it. My graduate program has a wide variety of topics, which allow to spread the knowledge a lot. the support that you have in the university is really great, for example, a international student could take advantages of the multiple tools in order to correct and make a better work."

"Even though the University of Massachusetts Amherst is a large university, my programs felt small. I really enjoyed classes with most of my Spanish professors, and the work load was definitely manageable. Going to a public school was well worth it for me. I was able to graduate with two Bachelor's degrees by taking 150 credits over the course of four years. I was also part of the Commonwealth Honors College, which has both some benefits and some drawbacks. My suggestion is come to this school if you know that the program you plan on participating in is small."

"Awesome student-powered businesses, groups, and events! Plenty of amazing students doing amazing independent projects. However, the administration is lacking in their connection with their own students."

"UMass Amherst was the perfect stepping stone between high school student living at home to working graduate. It was the best four years of my life so far. It is also not a school to be taken lightly. In fact, I was not mentally prepared for how hard I would have to work at all of the classes. But it was well worth it."

"UMass provides excellent graduate student benefits and makes a strong effort to support their graduate students. Most of School of Public Health's professors have been knowledgeable and good instructors. The professors that put effort into their classes and have a passion for inspiring new students are highly valued. A lot of them come from impressive and diverse career backgrounds, which is helpful in both learning and gaining experience. However, there are a lack of electives for those in the Health Policy and Management concentration. Professors are sometimes difficult to get in contact with or get a straight answer from when important information about classes and graduation is needed. You are often left to navigate the program on your own. It's a good and a bad thing. Good because it definitely teaches autonomy, but sometimes detrimental to completing your degree. Overall, I can say I have loved my experience at UMass and I am eager to complete my degree and begin my career in public health."

"A top rank research university that doesn't stand out until you get there and get to see the rich culture the area brings but also the immense number of different classes you can take with top tier researchers and professors surrounding you at all times."

"I really only experienced the Japanese department, as my class schedule was very focused. But the Japanese department is full of expert professors who really want to help you learn and students who are sincerely interested in their subjects. Also, grad student housing is fantastic."

"This school gave me all the resources I needed to succeed and left me the option to cease that opportunity or to let it pass me by. My school has shaped me into who I am"

"The counselors at the school are very informative and will do their best to help you succeed. However as of recently it seems there are major parking issues and increases in fees that students are having a hard time seeing where their financial offerings are going"

"UMass has an amazing culture that is not replicated at many schools. The interactions you have with professors & other students makes you eager to learn more. The dining halls have superb food and a great variation every day. The town itself is gorgeous and has tons of little niche stores where you can find unique items. The location is perfect - there are buses directly to Boston, only an hour and a half away, you can visit New York City for the weekend, or head to Vermont or CT easily."

"University of Massachusetts Amherst offers a great diversity of students and a well rounded teaching body with an emphasis on new research and professional placement after graduation. The contacts made during grad school offer great career networking opportunities and the classmates will be life-long friends. The area is rich in natural beauty and historic points of interest. Transportation is a breeze due to the 5 colleges bus transit system. Cost of living, however, is pretty steep and some of the university labs and equipment are outdated. Overall a terrific university to spend a few years completing an advanced degree."
