Degree: Veterinary Science
Graduation Year: 2017

The University of Nebraska Lincoln Veterinary Science undergraduate degree program is an excellent option for those students pursing careers in the veterinary medicine field to include a doctoral of veterinary medicine. My personal experience in my pursuit of my undergraduate degree has been an outstanding journey with many opportunities and resources that has aided in my accomplishment of acceptance into veterinary school. The University of Nebraska (UNL) provides students with excellent resources to include academic and personal advisement, tutoring options, and graduate and career services. As a military student as well UNL provides specific resources for military students and their families. This individual attention has helped me and countless others be successful in their academic careers. These services include financial aid, academic, and personal assistance. UNL also has a specific center for military and veteran students to access these resources as well as area to study. These resources make UNL an excellent choice.

Graduation Year: 2016

The University of Nebraska - Lincoln provided me with an opportunity that I truly believe cannot be found anywhere else. UNL helped me to meet, join, collaborate, question, respect, and love people with views similar and vastly different from my own. At the University of Nebraska, I always felt that I was held to a high standard and that the students who I was surrounded by challenged me to become a better version of myself. I was provided with experiences that gave me leadership opportunities and helped me to travel the country. I was tested fairly and given every resource necessary for a well rounded education. UNL set me up for success. The faculty and staff in my undergraduate program did everything they could to ensure my best possible chance for a future that I could only dream of. They facilitated an education that opened my mind and released my inner drive. It is with a combination of UNL's guidance, family support, and my own inner goals, that I was accepted to the graduate school of dreams. I thank the University of Nebraska - Lincoln for everything, and I support their mission and promise for excellence with boundless loyalty.

Degree: Social Sciences
Graduation Year: 2013

I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and loved every moment of it! As a freshman I struggled with all this change I was going through. I was not used to being on my own and having to push myself. After a year of trying to figure myself out and who I wanted to be I took advantage of all the programs that the University offered to make sure I kept my grades up and graduated. From being able to meet with professors to having help from my adviser I was able to get back on track and graduate with a degree. The classes I took and internships I was able to be part of really helped me to be prepared for a career working with youth and serving the community. I am working on my Master's degree now to further my education and challenge myself and to grow as a young professional.

I am a current student and when I first came to this university everything was great. The atmosphere around campus was great and everyone loved it. As of the past few years, the university has become a bit delusional. They have tried taking the fun out of everything and have become quite ridiculous. They have cracked down hard on greek life and the football gameday experience. They seem to spend more time trying to kick greek life off campus and get kids in trouble than they do simply trying to make this campus better. I am not involved with this greek life, but would just love if the university would lay off a bit and just let kids be kids.

The education program through the University of Nebraska Lincoln is a great experience. It allowed me to be in the classroom before I was even accepted into the program. This gave you the perspective of teaching and to experience whether this was something you truly wanted to do. I believe in learning from experiences and at the University of Nebraska Lincoln you definitely get that opportunity. I was in multiple classrooms and multiple grades. Once you are in the Education Program you have small class sizes and you really get to know your professors. You go through most of your classes with the same people so you're able to build relationships. Aside from just school, the University offers so many extra curricular activities. There are clubs, intramural sports, and organizations to join. It is a very big campus so it's the type of place where you have to step out and get involved.

Degree: Communications
Graduation Year: 2009

The overall college experience at UNL is second to none--great people, beautiful campus, and the best fans in sports. This is a very large school, which has its pros and cons: tons of class & activity options, but big classes with tons of students. Be sure to use your resources and you'll be successful!

Although Nebraska is a more conservative state the University of Nebraska is much more liberal. Thankfully freedom of religion, speech, and assembly have not been taken away from the students here like they have at many other of our nation's universities. The University of Nebraska provided itself as the catalyst for me to experience other cultures and backgrounds, and the ability for me to seek out truth unhindered by excessive corporate policies and governmental interference.
