"UNLV is a wonderful school if you are expecting to go to class and get a degree. but the school climate differs from what one would expect when applying to a university. There are no fraternity or sorority houses, as per state law, and the university lack the typical "college environment." Las Vegas is a transient town that cares little for sports. The professors and staff are fantastic, and the library is, so far, the best university library I have ever been in. I would recommend this school if your goal is to simply get a degree, but if you are enrolling in a university to get that "university experience," I would look somewhere else."

"UNLV is a great school to attend if you are looking for a career change. The Education Department was great at preparing me for my current job as a teacher. The professors take the time to work with future teachers and make sure they are ready to enter the classroom."

"I had a wonderful time at UNLV, where I was able to receive an excellent education. Since I am a Nevada resident, it was affordable, and I absolutely felt that the teachers were engaging and cared for their students. The campus was large, and the student body diverse and mostly local. I received a quality education at UNLV and would proudly recommend it to any other Vegas locals who aspire to learn and work here."

"My college is definitely one of a kind. The classes I have attended so far have really opened my perspective to the broader world. On campus, every student is free to be who they want to be. Each class is diverse and immersive, compiling ideas from around the globe and presenting them in an enthralling manner. Additionally, there is always something happening on campus. Not a week goes by without at least a few of the dozens of student organizations hosting an event. There are several recreational athletic programs to be involved in even if a student does not wish to participate in formal college sports. Altogether, UNLV is the total package. The campus is large and diverse but has a homely sort of feel. I would recommend this college to any student weather they are just graduating high school or are transferring for a better college experience."

"Looking back at my program, I thought it did a good job of providing the material needed in order to embark on a career in Kinesiology. I think the department could do a better job of providing career opportunities and avenues for those in the major."

"Dr. G. is a gem of a professor, if you can take his Professionalism in Kinesiology class (beneficial no matter what major you declare), I promise you will not be disappointed. The campus is really easy to get around, no hills to worry about and convenient for long boards, scooters, and bikes. Free parking is hectic if you don't get there early enough and to be honest it isn't worth the hassle, get a parking pass."

"UNLV is growing and updating their facilities every year. Although it is placed in the middle of the busy city, the campus is not affected with the commotion of the Las Vegas strip. The campus is not very large and makes it easy to commute from class to class. The Lied Library is without a doubt a great place to study individually or as a group with the options of private rooms to rent or use. The school spirit is something to be noted, and every year when we battle for the Fremont Cannon with UNR, the campus lights up with rebels and scarlet and gray pride. My classes were difficult and provided me with a great challenge. The allied studies of Kinesiology were very interesting and gave me a little insight to what I would be learning in Physical Therapy school. The college academic advisors are great and put you on the right track to succeed. Once a rebel always a rebel!"

"UNLV was a school that prepared me for my career. Depending on the discipline sought, success in future career endeavors can be attained. The campus is almost always bustling with activity. I would venture to guess that the majority of the full-time students on campus spend a good portion of their time engaged in some form of campus extra-curricular activity. UNLV is one of the best colleges to prepare you for your future."

"I am very satisfied with the school program. What helped me to choose this school is the fact that we start doing hands on dentistry the first year and we start seeing patients the second year. By the time you graduate you have a ton of hands on experience with the free clinics that the school provides, discounted rates for the community, and opportunities to go off campus to provide free dentistry as well. I was a dental assistant before I attended UNLV School of Dental Medicine. I worked with dentists who also graduated from this school and they were very confident and did great dental work. When I graduate dental school I want to be able to be confident in the work that I do. UNLV School of Dental Medicine will provide this."

"UNLV is a great school for anyone studying hospitality, business, or law. The student population is diverse and transient since the University is situated near the Las Vegas Strip. The professors are working professionals who bring their expertise to their students."

"The University of Nevada - Las Vegas has proved a wonderful investment. I have been afforded some excellent professors who have been very involved in my academic progress. While many instructors are lax, there are instructors that will push you to realize your full potential. I can honestly say I have only had one instructor who was not willing to give me undivided attention to ensure my success in their class. UNLV has a large, diverse campus with many different departments. My degree program, Psychology, has introduced me to some amazing researchers and really prepared me for my participation in graduate school. Finding mentors who will guide you through your undergraduate degree is very achievable."

"The university has a great campus with a very diverse student body. The professors are okay as some like to try to teach way above the class level."

"The Sociology Department at UNLV was great to be a part of. All of the professors were very available to students and helped guided me throughout my education at UNLV and have created lastly relationships as a pursue a graduate degree. All of the liberal arts staff were very helpful, even those outside of my chosen major, in all aspects of higher education. In terms of education, I feel as though I have a very well rounded degree and have a background in much of what I want to pursue in a graduate program. I would more than definitely recommend the College of Liberal Arts at UNLV."

"After transferring from another in-state institution, I decided to pursue elementary education. UNLV has not only helped me complete my degree program(s) but has allowed me to continue pursuing higher education with great support and guidance. I am currently finishing my Master's and then pursuing my PhD and feel that UNLV will prepare me for academic and career success."

"The elementary education program at UNLV was a great start to my teaching career. I loved being inside the classroom for my practicum. It taught me almost all I need to know to get me started as a first year teacher. The only critique I have are the actual classes before your practicum. They're useless."

"I feel the program only has one con in particular because it is an overall supportive and professional program filled with pros. There are various pros to this program, that range from its accreditation, the intelligent staff, and the research opportunities. The fact that the program is accredited by COAMFTE, the accreditation body for marriage and family therapy programs, makes the knowledge given to us by the courses the best to prepare us to excel for the licensing exam. The faculty that teaches us are well- known in the marriage and family therapy community and they provide us the best clinical supervision to excel with our clients. Also, the program offers a lot of opportunities to publish research with our professors and establish a name for ourselves. Unfortunately, the only con I can think of is the high cost of the program and the lack of graduate assistanships offered, which make the program much more hard to afford. Overall, I am extremely grateful to have chosen this amazing program."

"We have one of the best writing programs in the country and the school is not only proud of it, but is taking active steps to ensure Boyd stays there. We are constantly reminded by our peers and future employers, including judges, our legal writing in practice is far and away better than other new lawyers. I didn't realize how important legal writing was until I began talking with those same employers and judges. The best part of Boyd, however,is the faculty and students. The community at Boyd is incredible, upper classmen are constantly offering help, advice, outlines and even giving away their old supplements. One I hadn't met prior offered to go over an old exam with me. Within the same class, the students want to help one another and are very encouraging. Law school is tough enough as it is, I cannot imagine being at a school that has spiteful and hard-edged students like you always hear about. The people at Boyd realize these are our peers and will be working with one another in the future. We are people first and then students. We are competitive, but we are not trying to rip anyone's throat out. Similarly, we have a lot of social events like bar-review where we go to a bar and enjoy each other's company after class on Thursday. The professors are engaging and care about what they teach. Each professor has their quirks, however. This would be the biggest con I have for Boyd. A few of the professors are better at conversing with students to explain the material rather than lecturing. These professors can be hard to follow because they do not effectively translate what they know to the students. However, this is a classic flaw of any school. The professors that have a difficult time with conveying the message are aware of their inadequacies and do their best to accommodate. The professors are able to see the anonymous reviews and they appear to make steps to fix their downfalls. I cannot be happier with my choice to go to Boyd, it is always sunny, the school is new and striving to be better. It is making huge leaps in the rankings and they are proud of the quality students being produced."

"My university (UNLV) is overall fairly excellent. The cost is reasonable, and the program is well structured. However, the support is somewhat lacking, and the program takes too long. There are very few financial support resources. The university has superior instructors, but the support from most of the faculty is not really there. There are a few members of faculty who were very supportive, but left. There are a few new members of faculty who are supportive. There is a great deal of turnover in my department, so that is not very beneficial to students. It is often difficult to take classes, because they are not offered when needed. However, the faculty tries to work with students to get them the classes they need, so that is super! There are many time constraints that could be addressed using technology, but I feel that UNLV has not fully embraced technological resources. Finding the right course at the right time in the right format is a challenge, but the professors do try to help. Finding a professor to work with on research is a real challenge. It would be nice if there were more opportunities to work with the professors on research to learn more research skills in the "field". I have had the opportunity to work with some of the professors on their research. However, it has been difficult, and I was not able to continue to publication with them. Publication is very important, yet there are no classes that one can take to help learn how to get published. It is one of those requirements that are not supported, and I feel the school could do a better job in this area. It would be nice if UNLV provided structured assistance for publication."
