"One of the best aspects of the Urban Studies Ph.D. program is that is prepares students to work in a wide range of planning and public affairs related careers. One of the down-sides is that the department of Planning and Urban Studies (PLUS) is housed in Liberal Arts, so some technical skill-building, such as GIS and advanced statistical analysis may be more challenging to obtain through this program alone."
