I was in the Accounting program and receive my Associate's degree. I honestly feel that the courses for this program were good but sometimes the structure of the programs was not good for working people. I also realized that there programs are just too expensive. I won't say anything else about the program though because overall it was not bad.
I have tried other online schools and in house campuses, but the University of Phoenix has worked for me the best. I began with my Bachelor's degree while I was in the Army traveling and having my first three kids. After completion of my degree, I realized that I needed more to get the job I really want to work, for the money I wish to make. So I am now attending UOP for the Master's program, which will also prepare me to take the certification for it. I am excited to complete my degree to work in a fulfilling career.
My three year experience at the University of Phoenix taught me things I am still absorbing. I have learned more about myself than any other subject, and the abilities I have to learn and grow. I have received a promotion since I started school and also plan to attend graduate school within the next few months. My experience at the University of Phoenix affected my choice of career change as well. When I began, I had not considered a Master's Degree, but now, I want to "Pay it Forward" by obtaining my Master's in English Arts and Creative Writing so that i can teach online for my next career (retirement-ha!). I recommend the university to everyone I talk to and at least two of my friends have started going back to school because of my positive experience. Online higher education is the future and it is here!
As a mother of three, being able to pursue my Bachelor's Degree online was such a wonderful option. I was able to continue substitute teaching full time, raise my children, and still have the time to devote to my studies. I recommend University of Phoenix to those who are unable to be in a classroom full time. The educational experience was wonderful and I feel prepared to enter the work force this fall.
UoPX was fantastic. Worked with me every step of the way. I was able to complete all my classes on time and with little struggle. Had all the resources I needed at my fingertips, no need to buy extra books or supplies! Loved the financial aid team and my personal academic advisor was a great help.
University of Phoenix is a very good university. The faculty are competent and they seem to really care about how each student does in their class. I received compliments when it was deserved and correction when it was necessary. The instructors seem to notice and value hard work and effort and rewards it with good grades and praise. I enjoyed most of my time at University of Phoenix but it was not easy. If potential students are looking for an easy A they will not find it at UOPX. The degree program I studied was general psychology and I enjoyed the courses. The curriculum was thorough and relevant to my career interests. My biggest complaint is with their financial aid department. I feel they are not as well trained as other members of the faculty because the reps I dealt with were not up-to-date on the latest rules and regulations relating to federal guidelines regarding student aid. Unfortunately, I have not finished completing my bachelor's degree because I ran out of federal funding, so I have to find other means to finish paying for college. I acknowledge that as an adult it was primarily up to me to make sure that I had the funding to complete my education. However, UOPX financial aid reps could have helped by understanding and alerting students to the upcoming issues with their financial aid and any guidelines the students are not aware of because they are the professionals and it is their job. It would keep students from being caught off guard as they reached their financial aid limits and those students could already be seeking additional aid or putting money aside to complete their education. Otherwise, those students would find their education interrupted and their plans put on hold as they scramble to find the necessary funds.
It was the best experience. It allowed my to earn my degree without it interfering with my family and work. Plus it had some many tools and support systems that allowed you to succeed in your studies.
The people that work for UoP from my academic adviser to my Financial Aid adviser have been pleasant to work with. This includes needing and being allowed to make weekly payments out of pocket so that I can finish my degree. The program is pretty decent I do not know yet it it will get the job I really want but it does cover a lot of information in my field.
The university of phoenix online associates degree in human service mangement was a challenging but rewarding program. The instructors are very helpful but sometimes it takes a while to get your grade back for an assignment. The courses are well designed and the help centers really are great. My only issue is that being an online student does not give you the one on one help you really need for some of the courses especially math. In addition to this the school is kind of expensive . If i had to give it a rating id give it three and a half stars.
The University of Phoenix has wonderful instructors that have a lot of knowledge, experience, and are there to support the students in the classroom environment. I can only speak on my experience with the online classes. The school is expensive, but the school also has one of the best reputations in the educational industry. The University of Phoenix really works with students by supporting them with difficulties that they may encounter in class, outside of the class, and even when challenges and difficulties arise in their personal lives. I am so grateful for being a part of a school that has a wonderful network of student advisors, financial advisors, instructors, mentors, and fellow students to provide advice, tools, and tips to succeeding with your degree program. I recommend the University of Phoenix to all students that are looking for flexibility, convenience, and a school that works with students right where they are in life!
