"Its sad considering the professors are the best in their fields and the classes are absolutely fascinating. The administration and staff are what brings the overall experience down. Don’t get me wrong there are some absolutely lovely staff that are outshined by the horrible ones. One in particular creates drama in between students and pushes them against one another. They also pick favorites among the students while tearing down all the others. In some cases creating phony award ceremonies to highlight her favorites. They also bring club involvement down and make it extremely hard to do anything as a club. which is ironic considering their position. I think administration should stop looking at faculty for their problems in retention rates and start looking at the problems staff are inflicting on the students. We are there to learn not deal with the ignorant drama student life is pushing on us."

"Finish the Bachelors of Fine Arts degree rather than just Bachelor of Arts if possible. My classmates who did the full fine arts had much more career success pursuing their arts. Be prepared if you're going into art to focus specifically on traditional fine arts - oil painting, watercolor, sculpture, pottery, jewelry. I can't speak for the other programs."

"The interdisciplinary program at USAO is unique in that is prepares graduates for a wide variety of careers and graduate programs. Instead of only taking classes in a specific major, students are exposed to different areas of study, different kinds of thinking, and how various academic areas are interrelated. The small classes provide not only a great learning environment, but also help students get to know their classmates and professors. Even though it has been over 10 years since I graduated, I still fell at home every time I visit USAO. Many of my classmates have turned into lifelong friends. I am about to begin a master's degree and I feel like USAO has prepared me very well for graduate school - two of my former professors even wrote recommendation letters for my acceptance into the program."

"I attended the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO). I pursued a bachelor's degree in elementary education. This university has one of the best programs for upcoming teachers. It is smaller so the professors are able to get to know you on a very personal level. I found the professors and the courses challenging but productive. I graduated 17 years ago and I am still able to seek help from the professors and university. I was well prepared to step into my role as teacher. I found my experience to be near prefect and suggested my daughter who was pursuing a teaching degree to enroll at USAO. She is now in her 3rd year and is loving the learning experience and personal attention she is receiving. If teaching is the profession you inspire to pursue I recommend USAO even if Oklahoma is not your residential state."

"My college experience was great! USAO is a small liberal arts university in the heart of south-central Oklahoma. The professors are all top of their fields, they don't use teaching assistants, and everything is within walking distance. I got a diverse education that has helped me be successful everywhere I've gone since. The best part--I didn't even have to take out loans--it is so affordable that I could attend and work to pay it off."
