"I completed my BSHS at University of South Carolina Beaufort. The problem that I see is that the classes taught online are not given the attention by professors, instructors or adjuncts that those taught in class are. I was told in one of my courses due to it being an online class and not in class that the help I needed would not be given due to the fact that the professor didn't "teach" online and wasn't going to explain material the same way as the online courses were set up to be "self taught." The most memorable classes were sociology classes as the professor who taught them was very active with student engagement and went out of his way to address all questions and comments. Professor M. Glasson who taught a few of the human service classes was very good as well and would reach out to each student if there was an issue. She not only graded assignments but left comments that were reflective of the actual paper and not something generic. I do feel that in regards to the Human Service program better material is needed to teach from. The text are simple and many are common knowledge without substance that will engage the learner and help shape a better worker. Overall, It is a degree that is pretty easy to get if you are interested in the field which I am not."

"Very disappointed with the RN to BSN nursing program overall. The program is largely self-taught, with little to no help from faculty. Many courses were highly disorganized, with clinical assignments either falling-through, or assigned very late in the course. This meant students having to work twice as hard to complete necessary assignments before the end of the course. Also, the program is VERY drawn-out! This degree can be achieved in a much shorter time-span (and in a more affordable manner) elsewhere. If I could go back, I would choose a different program."

"USCB has a small, tight and mostly accepting community and a staff of great professors that can and will provide individualized attention and time to their students. It was much smaller when I first started; it's growing fast."
