Degree: Social Work

The pros of my graduate program are that instead of having to go all the way up to the USC campus, I can stay within my San Diego community and go to a San Diego Academic campus. This is really beneficial because everyone at the San Diego campus are there for the same reason; for social work. The cons of the program are that it is really expensive and it is very difficult to find scholarships and the right amount of money to cover the payment.

While the cost of living Los Angeles is incredibly high, the quality of education you receive (and the close mentorship offered by the faculty) is more than worth the price.

Great Networking and community. Definitely feel like part of a family. Traffic is horrible around the area, but overall an amazing program and with amazing staff

Degree: Biology

The program of Stem cell biology and regenerative medicine is a new program; therefore, the research and learning is very innovative. The con is that it is located in East LA at the Keck School of Medicine which is close to some bad parts of town; however, campus police make it feel somewhat safe.

The quality of education I'm receiving at USC is the best that I could have possibly hoped for. Every lecturer is an expert in their field and the material presented is interesting and challenging. There is a strong feeling of family and support among my classmates and with the faculty and staff. Everyone wants everyone to learn, grow and succeed which has made this rigorous experience so much more enjoyable. I am extremely happy with my decision to join the Trojan family.

The only drawback to USC is the cost of a private university. However, the network and quality of education that come with it are priceless.

Degree: Public Policy

The Public Policy program at Price is a rigorous program that will properly equip you with the quantitative and analytic tools you will need as a future policy professional. The power of the Trojan network is evident through the amazing job the Price Office of Career Services does in constantly sending students networking opportunities, job postings, and professional development events. The one big criticism I have of the school is the lack of class offerings on social justice and equity as it relates... Read More

Getting a graduate degree at Keck is amazing because of the opportunities to interact with established professors. Many of them have made amazing discoveries in the field of science. For example professors here include Dr. Peter Jones, the father of epidemiology, Dr. W, the 2013 Nobel laureate, and Dr. Z.T, who developed liposome technology that is used today in most cancer treatment by chemotherapy. At USC's Keck students are able to learn from these great professors.

Degree: Psychology

The Rossier School of Education at University of Southern California is extremely competitive. With that the programs offered hold high standards of expectations from their students. The program I am enrolled in is designed for individuals who work full time and are aiming to obtain a higher education simultaneously. Although, the hours in class may be beneficial for those working during typical hours, the amount of work may be overwhelming. The University of Southern California is enriched with... Read More

Degree: Dentistry

It is one of the most expensive graduate programs in the nation. The tuition is over $400,000 for a DDS degree. The degree was great a few years ago, but the profession isn't as safe as it was then. The best financial thing about a DDS degree is that it is a skill that can't be taken away, yet the future is still unpredictable.
