Degree: Biology
Graduation Year: 2010

I had a great experience here. The student to professor ratio was really good for all of my core courses and I had an easy time asking professors questions and catching them during office hours. So I was able to learn at the level I wanted and get good grades. There was also ample student research opportunities, on-campus jobs and on-campus activities. Beautiful campus situated on the Chippewa River.

I thought it was a nice small, big school (not too big and overwhelming). Great campus that that was not too big and beautiful to walk through.

Degree: Communication, General
Graduation Year: 2006

My college experience taught me so much about who I am, who I want to be and who I want to surround myself with. Moving away from home was terrifying at first, not being around any of my family or friends, but it really brought me out of my shell. It made me more confident in who I am and helped me see who I wanted to be. I had an idea of what I wanted to do when I grew up, but that changed over the course of my time in college. Even if I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted to do, I learned what would likely not be a good fit for me. I now have a career that I love but would have never seen myself doing when I was in high school or college. It is amazing how you can change and how your life experiences provide you with the courage you need to take on challenges and try new things.

UW-Eau Claire provides many opportunities to meet people through classes, events, and organizations; to be involved in research, volunteering, and other events; and to receive a great education through dedicated professors and other staff personnel. I greatly loved my time and experiences that this university.

Degree: Information Systems
Graduation Year: 2014

Campus is beautiful, professors are mostly down to earth. City has good student night life. School doesn't have as many free things as other schools (ie. You have to pay to use the gym, buy your own printer paper(the rest of printing is free), etc.)

Degree: Psychology, General
Graduation Year: 2015

Eau Claire is one of the top 3 schools in Wisconsin, so it is a good school to go to. Psychology is a very popular major at Eau Claire and I believe the psychology department is improving by adding more classes and gaining new faculty. I felt challenged with my major in psychology at UW-EC, but it wasn't so difficult that I couldn't achieve good grades. I was able to gain great research experience and am on my way to grad school for research psychology, hopefully! Eau Claire has a beautiful campus, too, which I ended up calling home for 4 years. There's always a lot to do, whether it's music in the park or floating down the river or grabbing a cup of coffee with a friend. Overall, it's a good school to go to if you want to beat out other competitors in academia and a city that has a home-town feel. Eau Claire: the winters are just as tough as its students, there are more coffee shops than fast food restaurants, and has a winsome quality that easily makes it your home away from home.
