"Marsha Larson, the director of the online FCS teacher licensure program, is very helpful and patient. She found ways to help me graduate early and to receive my teaching license in Family and Consumer Science. The curriculum was up-to-date and challenging, but I could also do the work while I was working full-time. I enjoyed my time here."

"The UWSP School of Education is wonderful. they offer a lot of opportunities for you to practice teaching inside the classroom well before student teaching. Additionally, they offer many scholarships and the department office staff is excellent. Even after being out of school for years, I can still email them and get assistance. UWSP also has a wonderful study abroad office. You can find a way to fit study abroad into any degree and on nearly every continent and see the world!"

"First, I must recognize that University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is not for me. That said, I can still recognize it as a good school. The class sizes are small and the professors are required to teach the class; there's no TAs stepping in. With that, all the professors are incredibly open and supportive. They want you to learn and they make an effort to make sure that you, the student, understands the material. The course material isn't vigorous either; there's work to make sure you understand the material but little to no busy work. The campus is beautiful in the spring and summer when all the plants bloom and it's almost therapeutic to walk through the nature reserve adjacent to campus. The cost is wonderful, though, compared to other schools, and you get your money's worth. Another plus is textbook rental. Many of my friends rightfully complain about shelling out thousands of dollars to buy textbooks. At Point, all the textbooks are rented and the fee is included within your tuition. So, why is this university not for me? It's a relatively small campus. I prefer a larger scene. The weather can be hard to deal with - half the year is cold, windy, and snowy. There are no tunnels connecting buildings, like at some other colleges. The staff at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point do their best to create opportunities, but it's still not comparable to that of a larger school. This is in regards to the amount of clubs and resume-building activities. It's difficult, but manageable if you don't have a car. There is transportation available, but not enough where it's convenient for good shopping or off-campus jobs."

"UWSP is great starter school to learn all the basic art techniques. Art students have the freedom to take any art class they may wish and can use any art department/materials to further their artistic journey. The professors are not only wonderful teachers, but great mentors who want you to suceed."

"I definitely feel that my college degree is an achievement that shows that I worked hard and have received an education that has prepared me to work in a diverse world. The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point was a great place to study due to it's small classes sizes and professors that are willing to help you. My advisors were encouraging in my educational and professional goals, as well as positive in helping me to figure out the career path I wished pursue. The college campus itself is small and has a great communal feel to it. I would recommend this school especially for students wishing to pursue a career in natural resources."

"I learned more than I could ever imagine at UW-Stevens Point. The faculty cared about my success, and were experts in their field. The town of Stevens Point is a beautiful place as well. Despite being a small town, the access to cultural opportunities is fabulous!"

"My time at the university was so good I haven't left the city, I remained active in a few programs after graduation and occasionally interact with former professors within the community"

"My graduate program is through both Stevens Point and Madison WI. I really enjoy it. I only wish that there was a little more collaboration between campuses as I do have other classmates at the other campus. The professors are always willing to help you out and spend some extra time working with you on something you're just not getting. It's a tough program but the pros definitely outweigh the cons and I'm happy I chose to come here."

"Cons: Housing is expensive and there are issues with it not being that safe with regards to the behaviors of the residents. It also gets very cold here. Pros: Town is beautiful, campus has a large nature reserve to explore, academics are rigorous, science classes are top-notch quality, town has free bus system for students, town is using The Natural Step Framework for sustainability, students are diverse, lots of free campus wide social events like dances, performances and cultural festivals, some vegan food is available in the dining areas, some organic and sustainably grown food is available, dorms use a lot of recycled materials, there are workshops about resume-writing and interviewing, there is counseling."
