"Graduated $18,000 in debt with an out of date degree. the program was out of date, out of touch with industry standards. As a result, no one would hire me with an outdated (2004 version) CADD degree. I was promised help with finding a job (boasted a placement rating of over 95%- I was definitely in the other 5%) while they did nothing more than give you a listing of online web search sites (--like 'techjobs.com;etc) I couldn't even enroll into another college because NONE of their credits transferred (I was misled by them that my credits would transfer) when I went to see about furthering my degree with VA College they had closed the CADD department completely"

"I'm not disgruntle at the staff at my school by no means, but I got caught up in them changing their program due to accreditation issues. I transferred from ITT everything was going good until I was having serious personal problems I dropped a quarter which in turn forced me into the new program, I wasn't upset because no matter the situation my training in the Air Force taught me to adapt and overcome, my problem is with me being in the new program they're not able to help me graduate in a timely manner, after seeing classes with only one student multiple times all of a sudden the school is not offering classes for me to take because I will be the only student. I have to sit out not 1 module but turns out I must sit out almost three modules and it's no fair that I must sit out all this time I guarantee they want their money whenever I do graduate. This really sucks because not only did ITT s**** me over now the school I'm attending is s******* me with no grease. I see why attendance is down after reading other reviews, I wouldn't recommend this school either simply because it's like they are just pushing you through school just to get their due."

"The staff was good but after you graduated its a different ball game. I been beefing with these people for a month now! I paid my hold I had on my transcript and they still haven't sent it over to the college I'm attending! Everybody making excuses saying its student clearing house! Why not take out the third party and send it themselves! I'm beyond pissed! I cannot even finish with my admission nor financial aid. On Top of that, they not even accredited!!!! None of my classes transferred!"

"I attended Virginia College in Jacksonville Fl. The teachers are amazing especially Mrs.S. and Mrs. I.. I finished successfully and obtained my certification. I am having no luck at all in obtaining employment. The Career Services has been no help at all. I now am stuck with student loans and a fast food job...."

"Attended the Spartanburg, SC campus. Was great. The staff could not have been nicer. I lost my spouse and mom within 6 months, and everyone at the school made sure I got my work done. I am a disabled vet and all the students always help me. Fell once and one of the staff members, picked me up and made sure I was ok. Never any issues with financing or classes. I am much older than most students and just attending VC had given me an education of today's kids. Overall, I was worried with all the negative reviews I read. I have had nothing but a positive experience. While I can't speak for all the campuses, the one in Spartanburg is well above and is a pleasure to attend. Graduated once, bsck now for another degree. Glad I did not listen to all the reviews."

"It was a pleasure attending this school. The Savannah campus was a great experience. The staff was very helpful during my time there. I developed great relationships with the staff and the students. The information that I learned was very helpful for the field that I went in. I would definitely recommend Virginia College to anyone that is willing to grow in there career field or a new one."

"If you want to learn the wrong things to, not be assisted when needing help, or get blind sided by financial aid or your own program director (her last name rhymes with mean) you would thoroughly enjoy this facility! I do not recommend you come here if you want necessary hands on training. You are better off with YouTube!"

"At first when I started the Surgical Technology degree program, I became ecstatic to go to school. I am a single mom of three and needed a college education to help provide for them. At first, the teachers were very professional acting and seemed to care until my first year in. I started noticing over half of the people in my program dropped out, and I had a few fellow students come to class when they wanted to. This included one or two classes, and if they were a certain ethnicity, they would get passed into my next semester.Which was unfair for the other hard working students who actually did work and came to class. My program director has changed twice. We started learning less and less. Then we would be demonstrated something one time and it was "our responsibility" to know how to do it without failing. I felt like my PD made a mockery out of me, once I "attempted' my lab. The later studies actually build from what you are "supposed" to be taught, but you never learn them to build from. I have the same teacher who teaches our A&P1&2 along with Pathopysiology who only allows you to memorize study guides, and makes you teach yourself. They act as if you are a pain just because you want to learn more or if you question anything. In my surgery classes, the same. We test on material that isn't even gone over, then once the semester gets towards the end, they overwhelm you with the things that had to be taught, and the student suffers for the teachers lacking. Please don't waste your time here! Unless you want to leave school in tears everyday and be in debt for years of your life! One would think for the price you pay here, you would get somewhat of an education."

"This school and instructors are horrible. They have no idea how to teach. All they did was talk about their homelife the majority of OUR TIME.Yes of course I passed but cannot pass the exam to get certified.I would not recommend this place. "

"My experience on the Savannah campus was generally what you would expect of a stereotypical for-profit college. The admissions specialist was very nice and seemed helpful until I asked about their disabilities coordinator since I have adhd, anxiety, and autism spectrum disorder and have a tendency to have difficulty with focusing and prone to sensory overloads. She informed me she had never heard of a disabilities coordinator even though every college is required to have one. I also had the displeasure of dealing with transphobia. My medical terminology instructor was very disrespectful of those (like myself) who do identify as transgender. My instructor was openly using transphobic slurs, making explicit jokes about trans people's bodies, and the egging on she received from the class only added on to emotional hurt, but also made me feel physically unsafe just sitting in the classroom let alone actually reporting it."

"Pros to me glad it worked out with me working full time and going to school both. The staff was very helpful and I enjoyed learning what I did. The teachers were great and really made you work and think which is a great plus to me. Cons was that It was so expensive and I feel like I'm paying out more than what I get out of it. I had to help myself get a job and I didn't want the cap and gown for graduation. I told the staff handling this and she ordered it after I told her no and couldn't get a refund on that. I been paying my student loan for a two year degree since 2004 and still paying on it. I wouldn't go back for anything."

"I am taking the network engineering program and I must say it is horrible. I have one more semester left and I have not learned anything close to getting in the real world and working. there have been times when the instructor and director argue in front of the class on what is being taught. They also mixed up my classes so what I'm learning does not go with the certification they want me to take. I am almost done with school and I have yet to take any certification test. This has been the worst school I have ever been to and I will be glad when it's over. They also state this is a hands on program and that is far from the truth. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!"

"The recruiter person was really nice and helpful but the financial aid advisors are terrible. They have no idea what they are doing and they don't care about certain students. I've had bad experiences with 2 different financial aid people. They give you one amount of what your tuition payment will be then a few days before classes they triple the out of pocket cost. They only want to help you if you are a minority which I'm not. They claim they care about students but they don't. When you ask for help to find alternate funding to still start school they just say find a cosigner...not everyone has that ability. If i was a minority student they would have helped me find a way to pay for it."

"Horrible school, horrible experience. Please read all of the paper work before you sign up, do not let them rush you through the paperwork, make sure you understand everything. Pay close attention to the Arbitration clause in the documentation, if anything happens this clause will screw you over when hiring an attorney. I was 6 months away from graduation when the program director withdrew me because, I did not pass an exam, not a finale exam, just an exam. The statement that was made is that if students could not successfully pass EVERY exam they would not do well on the NCLEX. This is not true, and I had almost a 4.0 at the time. They told me I could come back and six months and re-enter the program, but the tuition would be increased. After I left the school sent me a huge bill. Please do not go to this school, they need to be investigated and shut down, They prey on students wanting to do better with their life. The financial aide department and administrative department is trained to do nothing more then to get you to sign, after that you are screwed. I had to put a graduation date, but I did not return to the school."

"I loved the teachers and my fellow classmates. It wasnt always great, but what is? They always addressed any complaints and made me feel good. At VC Columbus we have the best teachers ever. They are very attentive and go the extra mile. Im employed and they helped me along the way. What i was taught in class, is just what I needed to be successful. Yes, i had a couple teachers that acted up and a few classmates that had no manners, but overall I was happy with the school. I would go back in a heartbeat. I refer people all the time. This school is ideal for working parents, single parents, and those that are busy with work etc. I wish VC Columbus offered more programs. I also wish a few instructors that are no longer there will come back. The teachers that impacted the school most are: robinette. m.rush.j.pruner.f.Jackson.harrell.dr.archer.mctyre.love love love hatfield and Shamaya Smith is the best ever to do it. Class if 2017. I love my school"

"When I began my MS program at VC, it was very thorough and a challenging program. I found myself studying night and day and constantly felt challenged. The exams were timed so the moment I clicked "begin" the timer began counting down. Once it reached "0" it closed the test down regardless of how much I had completed. In other words-I had to actually know the material. Additionally, the tests were very difficult. One had to know the material in order to pass the classes. At the time, the school was listed as a "not for profit" institution. When I was within a semester or two of graduating, something changed. Suddenly the time limits on exams went away. The questions sank to grade school level. I literally remember questions such as "What is the quote on page 100 of your textbook from a former President of the United States?" I remember another question: "What is the name of the text book for this course?" This was bewildering considering this was supposed to be graduate school level work. After some research, I learned that the school had changed its status from "not for profit" to "for profit." Since I was within a semester of graduation, I stuck with it and completed the program. In my finial semester, I literally didn't open a book and still graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I went from 20-30 hours per week of studying to just logging in to complete the exams and discussion questions-less than an hour per week. As disgusted as I was; I was within a semester of graduation. I graduated in 2008 and was fortunate enough to have a job that treated education as a check list requirement. Meaning: my boss doesn't care what I studied in college and grad school. The only thing that matters is that I have a degree. But it should be pointed out that I was unsuccessful in finding a job related to the MS I received from VC. When I utilized the job assistance program for graduates, they asked for a copy of my resume. I submitted and was advised to change "Virginia College" to "Virginia College Online." This stellar advise was apparently the only thing holding me back from getting the good jobs. When I initially contacted VC about enrolling in their MS program, I had to be interviewed by the department head. After the interview he informed me that he felt I needed some undergrad level courses in my area of study before getting into the grad level stuff. This was a good sign to me. In my two and half years at VC, the first ~two years were very fulfilling. Then it changed to for profit and the school was/is garbage. Save your money. Go to a real school. I now have a $40,000 piece of useless paper. Luckily I went to a real college for undergrad and have military experience in a different field. So I was able to get a good job. However my success can in no way be attributed to this joke of a school."
