"I wouldn't recommend WL to anyone. I'm not sure what it's like today, but I did not care for their education system. It's a joke. The department heads will tell you "oh you'll be fine in the real world with a degree from this school". I found most employers considered this place a joke. Unless you go way outside the radius of WL, Where WL has no educationional reputation. I thought most " professors " were not good. A few were good, but I mean a few. The science department educators were horrendous. Pompous, no teaching skills what so ever, they just put the power point up, and there you go. Goodluck on the test and lab! Joke. If you're going into nursing or the hygienist program, you'll be fine. Other than that, Goodluck! I hear the computer science department is good, but seriously, I would never go back to this place for education again. The social experience is also bad, everyone goes home on the weekends. Parties are almost non-existent. Most students commute, unless they're on scholarship. If you don't live within a 30 mile radius of WestLib, you really don't want to go here. Athletes thought they were bad asses but they sucked at every sport. PooPoo on you WLU."

"The Psychology department at West Liberty University is beyond excellent. The modest class sizes allow you to actually KNOW your professors. They are extremely helpful with all academic/career advising needs. Most importantly, they are amazing educators and will work to provide you with the education you need to move on to a graduate program or to transition into the field."

"West Liberty University was West Liberty State College when I attended. This quaint rural school is better known as a "suitcase school" due to it's proximity to many local area high schools, where students commute to the campus, however, campus life does thrive there. In the beginning of your education at WLU, it can be slow and tedious as you study up on your core curriculum - however as time progresses and you hit your groove in your area of study, you really start to learn and know the instructors as you will have many of the same for different subjects. I still keep in touch with many of mine from my time at WLU."

"I would recommend West Liberty University to any one pursuing a degree locally or internationally. The Adult/Non traditional programs of study at West Liberty are well worth the money. WLU is expanding continually and their focus is student life, now and beyond! I commend the faculty and staff for their hard work and dedication to every student that comes through the doors there."

"It was friendly and affordable. Being from Virginia, I was basically a foreign exchange student; there's a very strong local draw for their student population. If you're an intelligent, competent leader, you will have plenty of opportunities to grow since that combination doesn't always seem to be present with students who choose to pursue leadership positions."

"I have just started my road to a Masters Degree, however, the professors and staff have been extremely helpful and knowledgeable."
