"As much as I would love to give Wichita State University an amazing rating, I'd be lying. My advisor for online education was AWFUL. I was supposed to graduate after Fall 2021 semester according to my advisor and credits. However, when I double checked to ensure completion of degree, I was informed I still had 2 semesters left. I had ended up taking classes that I did not need (advisor assigned). I wasted my time and money. When I inquired about taking extra courses to graduate on time, it was too late, and my advisor was out on maternity leave. No other advisor could help (as there were none). I completed my BA program early Summer 2021 and have been now waiting on my transcripts to be electronically sent since July 2nd. When double checking when they will be sent, staff is incredibly rude, and unhelpful. If they do not get sent in time, I could lose my spot in grad school for an entire year. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. The only positive is tuition cost."

"I completed my graduation from EECS department. 2016-2018. I experienced worst experience from this department. Most of the professors are south indians. The structure of the course is good. But there is no guidence available for students particularly for this department. No advisor is there to help you. Every fall the cost will be increased. The syllabus is not a contract. Suddenly the professor can change anything at any point of time. Suddenly you will be notified that you wont be able to enroll in this class because you need a particualar prerequisite class. Even though you are an international student and this is your final year this university can show you how ruthless they can be. You have to go to professor's door to door to know what is your mistake. EECS Department will not help you to follow the rules and regulations for international students. Other departments industrial mechanical aerospace mathematics english departments are good compared to this department."

"Wichita State University is a great school! They offer degrees and student life for both working professionals and the traditional college student adventure. There are flexible schedule times and class types, a really helpful financial aid department, and an amazing staff at Disability Support Services for students who accommodations. There were a number of times I didn't think I would make it to graduate and thanks to the supportive staff and campus organizations, I not only made it through with my Bachelors Degree, but two minors as well. P.S. There's always an event or social happening going on, on or around campus!"

"Before attending Wichita State University, I attended a larger private university. I attended this private university because I was told private universities provide better academics and student involvement. I can definitively say that Wichita State was more rewarding both academically and personally than the private university I had attended. Putting it concisely, Wichita State makes you feel at home. The campus is going through a massive renovation and is absolutely beautiful. The dorms and student center are brand new. The basketball team is regularly ranked in the top 25 and the games are an absolute blastalmost always sold out. The baseball team won the College World Series in 1989 and the stadium is one of the best in the NCAA. Academically, my professors took an interest in my development. Almost all my classes had less than 30 students, and never once was I taught by a graduate student / TA. Local businesses take a massive interest in the university, and as a result, recruiters are almost always on campus. The accounting, economic and finance programs are very highly regarded for the area, and Koch, Spirit Aerosystems, Textron and other publicly traded companies regularly hire from their ranks. If I could do it all again, I wouldnt have wasted my money attending the private university and would have spent all four years at Wichita State. I cannot say enough positive things about this university. Its an affordable higher education that worth attending."

"I would highly recommend Wichita State University. It has so much to offer, from student organizations to sports. We have one of the best men's basketball coaches in the United States. My degree was in education and the program offered lots of field experience where I was in the classroom getting hands on experience!! The professors were very helpful and knew our individual needs. I take pride in being a Wichita State University graduate!"

"My degree program allowed me to meet great leaders in my community. Seeing their passion, and my professors' care for their students inspire me to become an urban sociology professor, contributing my skills to bettering a community through community engagement projects and higher education."

"I really enjoyed my time at Wichita State University. The majority of the professors in the School of Art and Design were talented in their own right, as well as, good instructors. They are flexible and understanding, while providing valuable feedback for projects. I did however have a handful of professors who lacked teaching skills and provided criticism without adequate feedback. At least 2 of those professors are no longer at Wichita State. Overall, Wichita State was a positive experience."

"Although I was hesitant about the program, Wichita State has shown me what it means to develop the whole student. We receive a lot of support, through advising and opportunities outside of the stated curriculum. Since it is a smaller school, every professor excels in learning your name and making a connection with you from the start. The classwork can be challenging, but the professors make sure that they are available, whether in person or by rapid response emails. It is because of these things, that I am proud to call myself a Shocker!"

"I thoroughly enjoyed being a student of Wichita State University. The professors took real interest in the well-being of their students, furthermore, class sizes were limited enough that each teacher could dedicate individual time to their students. WSU is experience a lot of growth right now, and the campus continues to offer newer and better facilities for its students and educators."

"Wichita State University is a great place to attend. Situated in Wichita, KS, there are many cooperative education opportunities in your chosen field. The staff is friendly and will work with you as long as you keep them in the know. I have recently returned to WSU pursue an MBA."

"The professors and classes were great. However, there was a lack of flexibility in class times and formats offered. It was difficult for me to work a full time job and complete my degree."

"I am currently studying for my master's degree in Communication. The best thing about my graduate program is that I get to study what I love. My professors are very knowledgeable and helpful and I look forward to my classes. The American experience has been a good exposure for me in a field like this. Apart from the fact that the work load is complex and intense,I do miss my family a lot and paying for my graduate program has been extremely difficult."

"A pro of the graduate program are that the professors were very knowledgeable and accessible. My thesis advisor was very helpful in allowing me to do several research projects and TA for classes. The professors also allowed students in the exercise physiology lab outside of class to become familiar with equipment and testing protocols and also to conduct research. A con of the program was some courses were offered a little early in the day when student's typically worked full time."

"The pros of the graduate program were the professors, especially Dr. Jeremy Patterson, who allowed myself to be his graduate assistant and take on a highly funded research project involving a concussion testing app that is now in the NFL. Other pros of the program were state of the art equipment and a newly constructed lab, access to cadaver labs, and the curriculum offered, which included 3 different types of programs including a thesis route, internship, or strictly course curriculum. One con of the program was not having adequate lab time to completely grasp the testing protocols for tests such as VO2max, Dexa scanning, and EKG testing. Another con would be the statistics classes offered. Though the classes were quite thorough, statistics are learned best by hands on learning with research the student is particularly interest in and I would have appreciated my time learning about statistics especially the statistical program SPSS."

"I had a wonderful college experience. The campus truly feels like a community - a home. For the most part, I had great instructors who truly connected with their students. I'm proud of the education I received."

"A great school for students in the Kansas area. Close to home, plenty of diversity with the large numbers of international students, lots of clubs and organizations to join and lead. Seen as largely a commuter campus but I lived on-campus all 4 years and had an amazing experience and met some of my best friends in the dorms and campus apartments. Lots of emphasis on cooperative education, internships and career services to get students out and exposed to the working world even before they graduate. And now apparently a star basketball school! I wouldn't recommend WSU for out-of-state students, though. This is very much a Kansas university, and Wichita isn't a city that someone who didn't grow up there would enjoy."

"I am proud to be a Wichita State Shocker! Growing up in Wichita, Kansas, I always wanted to be a shocker. The experience and quality instruction helped me prepare for my career. I had many professors impact my love for teaching and learning. Becoming a physical educator through Wichita State is valued by many school districts throughout Wichita. During my interview with my current employer, I shared my love for Wichita State and he values my degree as much as I do. I even started my Masters in Counseling program at Wichita State. I could have chosen to go to another university that wasn't as expensive, however, I knew that I would obtain a quality degree!"

"It was an awesome school built more on experience and networking and creating a great overall. The academics are there, but they more prepare you for life after college than to just get a degree. It was fantastic for commuting and allowed me to be involved in a level I chose."

"I had a wonderful practicum which taught me so much; however, the actual classes were virtually worthless, at least to a BSW choosing to pursue therapy. The school's perspective and lens were so broad you ended up learning very little by trying to cover too much. I graduated feeling like a jack of all trades and master of none. Newman and Friends have better programs if you want to be a therapist."
