I enjoyed my time at Flagler College, and I didn't realize how much I was going to miss it until I moved back home after graduation. My only problem with Flagler, is that it's hit or miss in a LOT of areas. A lot of it honestly is your attitude, and how you want to go through your four years. A lot of students move off-campus after their freshman year, but because a lot of the off-campus housing is relatively close, I honestly don't feel like those students missed out on a lot. Student Activities and general events around campus are always a good time, and the people in charge genuinely want feedback and they want to know what you want to see on campus as students. I think choosing a major is important before you decide where you want to go to college because some schools obviously offer better programs than others. The Business Administration department at Flagler is excellent, as a lot of the professors are close with Alumni business owners in the area, which is a plus when it comes time to find an internship. I was a part of the Political Science department first, then I changed my major to Journalism halfway through. In my experience, the professors really made the entire four years worth it. They helped me and supported me through every decision and every issue. I highly recommend Flagler College!

Flagler College was exactly what I was looking for when searching for a post-secondary institution. I liked the intimate atmosphere they were able to create as well as the historic setting of Saint Augustine. Also, the price tag attracted me to this school. Paying for my degree was my sole responsibility, and so I was also looking for an accredited, respected institution that would not leave me in debt for the rest of my entire life. After all, I decided to become a teacher. It's not exactly a profession known... Read More for its great salary or earning potential. The education department was supportive and the classes were smaller, which I loved. All of my professors taught their own classes and knew me by name both inside and outside of the classroom. The internship program truly prepared me for what it is like to be a teacher. Frequent practicum hours, though sometimes cumbersome, exposed me to multiple areas of education both in observation and involvement well before the internship. The internship is a full semester of teaching, grading papers, and making connections with students. Nothing will prepare you more for what it takes to be a teacher than the internship. Thanks to the design of the program, when I graduated I also held my permanent teaching certificate. This made me very marketable to employers.
