American Sentinel RN-BSN Simpath is a self taught program. No actual instruction takes place, you teach yourself. I heard "google it" more as a answer than anything else. Great school, the simpath program is the best. You can chose to show your work via essay, power point (my favorite) or video. I have yet to find a school that allows you to show mastery in a variety of ways, and I have researched a ton. Inexpensive and I have never had a problem getting a response from staff. The only issue I have is financial aid. Most schools allow you to start class while they work on getting aid, not this one. You have to request it months in advance which is new to me. Otherwise... American Sentinel was a good fit for me, all my professors where accesssble and called me back when I needed to get clarifications. Most all my professors held PhDs or EdDs . Many tutorials were available and live conferences with the Deans at select times. They dont just take you regardless of credits as I needed 2 humanities courses extra to graduate. My brother had cancer and I asked to drop the Rn to BSN program. They have a strict policy - and allowed me to drop. However they wanted their FULL money! This is a horrible act! Their program is not good. I had many questions about classs and was told by advisors well we are new and trying to improve. So they will take your money. Very helpful when trying to get you signed up. But no support after you sign promisary note. I couldn't get several of the online mandatory assignments to open so I could complete them. Contacted tech support, my counselor, instructor, no help really. Spoke with president of University about problems with accessing assignments. No help. Just told me to pay bill or it will go to collections. Oh yeah, I tried to access all my assignments on 3 different computers. The problem wasn't with me, it was... This program prepared me for an administrative position in a university nursing program. I have found the knowledge from the curriculum has provided me a very strong background in educational leadership from developing relationships with faculty members to identifying incivility in nursing education. I am in DNP Program, and must say to all potential students DON'T GO here! The whole program is juts ridiculous, some professors dont even reply or comment your work. By the end they are screwing you up, not letting you scheduling your defense date, the chairs of the projects just people sitting home, and deciding last minute what they want to do with you, so they making fun of you by playing on your time restrains. Many employers look into "where you git your education from". That being said they look into the schools you have attended to see if it is a quality education. Many employers are reluctant to hiring employees with online degrees. The reason is because many schools will basically give to a diploma in exchange for your money. Most employers look for employees who have earned a degree from a regional accredited institution. Make sure you know the difference between national and regional accreditation. Otherwise you will end up with a useless degree thatbyou paid thousands for.

DNP program is solid.The professors are knowledgeable. Feedback were timely, discussion replies from professors always incorporated real life situations that contributed tremendously to my learning. Kudos to Dr. Pate and all faculty. The first year (2013) the assigned academic counselor was not as engaged. Didn't return phone calls which caused a lot of anxiety on my part however, my second year the new academic counselors were excellent. Kudos Julie!!!! PLE's I think are really great.... more work... Read More different success advisors initially but finally have been with one, Jacqui, for a good amount of time. She has assisted me whenever I need it. She responds so quickly to her emails and makes you feel as though you are "on campus", she provides many good options and priceless guidance during the program. The 8 week classes are great, the instructors are compassionate in their education and I actually feel I am learning tools that have and will be utilized in my career. The price is comparable to standard BSN programs but really provide top dollar education. I can't say enough about this program, I am so happy I chose American Sentinel and will have acquired my degree very soon.
