Took me a little over two years to complete. I worked very hard. There was a lot of essay writing. However, most higher degree programs require the ability to write essays. They want graduates to have a better understanding of pulling together evidenced-based practice and having the ability to summarize it. I found rubrics easy to understand. Like any type of higher education, the student gets what they put into it. If you want something, you have to work for it.

Great school, TERRIBLE financial aid office

This school isn't bad but the financial aid office is awful! If you need financial aid I would recommend not going to this school they take forever and do not reply to anyone for days at a time taking multiple calls to get answers. Very uneducated people working in the office and don't seem to care about their jobs. You literally have maybe 3 people that work there that are completely unhelpful!

I felt that American Sentinel was a good fit for me. My job subsidized my tuition, with a payback of three years to the company. I felt the education was great! Sometimes a little fast paced to learn everything the course syllabus outlined. I am also a nursing educator, and it opened the doors to better opportunities. It was difficult at the end taking two classes at a time, but well worth the effort to finish sooner. I would like to pursue my DNP in education from ASU in the future.

I received a great education. It was challenging and for the most part all the instructors were very helpful and wanted their students to succeed. There might have been one or two that wasn't active enough, but that happens in traditional classrooms as well. I completed the BSn program and wet back and recently completed my MSN. I urge all to follow their heart and find a program that suits them best. American Sentinel University was the best for me.

I chose American Sentinel because it was affordable and offered flexible scheduling. I finished the MSN in 2 years. I spent about 10-15 hours on classwork per week. I was impressed with the quality of instruction. I just took the CNE exam and passed without difficulty.

Ok. Here are the negatives that I would say about the school. 1. The Phone Contact Information Does Not Work/The 1800 Number. 2. The school library resource does not provide adequate sources to complete research assignments. 3. You may have the same professor more than once. Positive: The professors worked with you on your APA writing, late or delayed assignments, the finance department worked with me on making my payments, the classes were continuous so that I can complete school, the professors... The instructors are overloaded and the written work is based on quantity not quality. If you want a quality education go down the street to Regis University. I received different information from various people when I had a question or an issue. Very expensive and no personal attention given

In December 2015, I completed the RN-MSN Education program. I was able to complete it in 2.5 years. It was a challenging program and required a large amount of research and writing....all of which added to the credibility of the program. My experience with instructors was for the most part a positive one although I did have one instructor who did not make much effort to participate or stimulate weekly discussions. All of her comments were generic and gave the impression that she was not doing her... Read More

Great school and the degree I obtained has helped me advance in my nursing career. Definitely recommend this as a workable online program for adult learners.

I completed my course work on 2/10! I had a good experience at ASU. Classes were challenging and reasonably paced. The most important things to know about any online learning course work: 1. You must be disciplined - this is a university - not high school! 2. Nearly all learning is self taught through assignment research and discussions with fellow students 3. YOU get out of the program what YOU put in - this is the same for all schools

I did have some frustrations with the financial department being... Read More

If you are a serious-disciplined student ASU is an excellent program - all on-line programs require mature dedicated students - otherwise don't waste your time or money with ANY on-line program!
