"Worst experience of my life 1/10 they are making me pay for the spring semester room and bored when I didn’t even attend college during spring ( they said I didn’t check out properly but no one was in the building ) I then got a call in February saying I needed to come so they can check the room so I drove all the way from Sweetwater I called the number they called me on to make that appointment and I even knocked on the door multiple times loud and no one answered (they said an RA is is on call 24/7 but why didn’t they hear the loud knocking ?) so now I have to pay 1300 to get my transcript. ASU really messed my life up and is holding me back from opportunities. They say their students are the number 1 priority but end up doing this to me ? “Your a person not just a number in our school” turns out that was a big fat lie, they don’t care about the students they are just making sure they get payed :)"

"Angelo State University is an amazing educational institution. Since many students from surrounding small communities are enrolled, it has a small-town feeling with all the amenities and quality one would expect from a four-year university. Not only were teachers top notch, they were able to take a personal interest in each student since class sizes were not too large. I always enjoyed the classroom atmosphere and conversations fostered by smaller class sizes. During my time at ASU, the university continued to make improvements to on-campus facilities, opening a new fitness and recreation center as well as new dorms. Overall, I am extremely please with the quality of education I received at ASU, and I also thoroughly enjoyed life on-campus. I would highly recommend this university to anyone who inquired. Ram 'em!"

"The biology program at this school does not know anything about the economy of the 21st century. They offers no financial assistance to their grad students and offer only once class that is actually graduate level. If you have no other choice, go here."

"ASU was the best college I could have chosen. This university provides merit-based scholarships that allow students to graduate debt free. The staff takes personal stake in their students' success and challenge you to grow and accomplish far more than you expect of yourself."

"I'll speak for this program. The professors are great, except for the guy who taught Research Methods in 2017. I reached out to all my colleagues, and they didn't get the professor's direction either. He should have provided examples of what he was looking for. Otherwise, all the other professors are great. Dr. T. is most helpful in guiding you through to the end. Dr. B. is tough, but he will prep you well for good research and preparing your bibliography. These guys were my favorite. I highly recommend Dr. N. class on Human Rights too. Amazing. If you're going in to government work, I highly recommend this degree through ASU. It's regionally accredited, and you'll be working with top-notch professors who help you go forward in research and employment. You can't put that kind of trust anywhere else. I've even reached out to other universities that offer Security Studies, and they see ASU as a great program too. Definitely worth it if you're a local Intel student too. 14N military training can cover 12 credits out of the 36 you'll need to graduate. No GRE required if you meet a certain GPA requirement. 3.0, I think. Also, you can do a thesis or non-thesis option. If you plan on doing the thesis, get with Dr. T., and start early! Either option is fine. I've applied to two PhD programs now, and neither one have asked for a thesis, so if you want to go further in your education, you won't be seen as a lesser candidate for not having a thesis as a writing sample."

"Angelo State University provided an excellent opportunity for quality education. My professors were well-qualified and very concerned about their students. The small classroom size allowed for individualized teaching opportunities. My professors were always available and willing to help."

"My University and professors provided me with the proper tools to succeed. Professors went out of their way to provide support and educational assistance at a one-on-one level while still being professional. Even being enrolled in an online Master's program, my educators have taken the extra step to show that they care about their students achieving their personal and educational goal. They figured out your goals and held you accountable to your ability. There were plenty of extra curricular activities that students were able to be involved in as well."

"Angelo State University's Bachelor of Arts in Applied Communication primes students to succeed in post graduate studies and in professional life. It is a degree that is niche and flexible at the same time. Students learn critical life skills, such as interpersonal, intercultural, and linguistic skills. Additionally, the program does a great job at helping students feel like they are part of a community through extra curricular programs. If a student's strengths lies in public speaking, researching, and communicating ideas clearly, then this is the program for them."

"When I attended ASU I thoroughly enjoyed my department. The class sizes were small and you had a lot of classes with the same professors and students so there was a good sense of community. I would have liked to have given more opportunities in graphic design (growing program) because that is what I initially went to school for but I felt like I was teaching the teacher more than he was teaching me."

"Really nice little university. It offers anything you could possibly need, including a newly renovated gym. I liked most of the professors I had the pleasure to meet. I won't lie, I feel like it used to be a lot better when I started there in 2009 but it's still not bad."

"A major pro of my program is that faculty take into account student input when scheduling program coursework. They also put a lot of focus onto student retention. The is a very cost conscious program even for out of state students. A con is the cost of living in San Angelo. There also needs to be more communication among the faculty regarding program content."

"While the CSRF program is still relatively new, the quality of the program is impressive. The faculty has true passion for providing quality education and they truly care that each of us succeed. The curriculum pushes us to think outside the box and challenges us to get involved in the community. ASU is more than just an institution to earn a diploma, it works to build you as a whole person, not just a student. With eight moves over the past 16 years I think I am eligible to assess community relations, and the city of San Angelo is the most supportive community I have ever been a part of. All in all ASU is a spectacular school in a community that welcoms all with open arms."

"This school was very helpful when it comes to registering. It can be a very scary experience not knowing what to expect, especially if its your first time signing up for school. I have experienced nothing but helpful admission staff answering all my questions and not delaying anything. The student to teacher ratio is awsome to."

"A major pro to my graduate program is that the professors take more time to work directly with each student. The professors know that by going to grad school, we have chosen to advance our knowledge and are in classes we chose whereas as an undergrad, we took courses because we had to. A major con to my grad program is that each class is offered every other Fall or every other Spring. Therefore, if the advisors get off by one class, a student may get behind a semester or an entire year."
