Argosy University is an amazing school. The teachers are very helpful and understanding. I was honored to make president's list and recieve a certificate. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to move further in there education or career. 5 stars to this school.
My undergrad experience at Ashford was so wonderful, and then I arrived at Argosy. What a great big disappointment. The worst part about Argosy is the professors. They are all so obviously there to collect a part time job paycheck. They aren't friendly, helpful, or mentoring. One even sent out the entire class a bizarre rambling email that mentioned he was high on painkillers. LOL. Then, there are all the Argosy polices. Policies on top of policies. The one I found the most disgusting? That even if you're in the hospital they still charge you for the course you had to drop. There is no refund unless you file an appeal and that rate of success? Dismal. The school sucks. I won't be working on my doctorate there.
Argosy University is an awful institution. After working and consistently paying on my payment plan, Argosy still screwed me over. I was set to graduate during this commencement. I was e-mailed and told 2 weeks prior to the commencement that per their policy I still could not graduate. This institution is some cut and I would never recommend that you attend. If you do so, do not believe what they tell you about the experience you can expect because everything that they are saying is only to get you in there. I wish I had listened to my mother and attended Bowie State University. Do yourself a favor, do not attend this institution where no one keeps their word.
Being that I am a single mother with a full time job, having the access to a University degree online when I could find the time to work on school without sacrificing money from work or time with my child was the most beneficial. The classes were interesting, the instructors were always there to help if needed and tutoring was always open to me. I could have taken classes at the school but online at home was the best option for me.
I am writing this review because I am upset with the financial part of my online education with Argosy. I am uncertain if the financial aid that I did use go towards classes that I took and not retakes. Even though they told me financial aid doesn't cover retakes. On my account summary it's classes posted that I haven't taken. And it makes it confusing as far as did my financial go towards classes I didn't take considering I have been told I exhausted my financial aid. I haven't attended class since December 2013 because they told me I ran completely out of funding. I requested reaffirmation through my Fed loan servicing provider. They reviewed their data base and said I had money left. I called Argosy they told me oh yea.. You have $3,000 left. I already emailed compliance who financed my loans to go over my account at the school to make sure the money went towards what it was suppose to go to and to make sure it didn't cover retakes or any of the classes I haven't taken yet. Hopefully I get answers because it's looks like I'm at an over $20,000 out the pocket cost to finish.. I have used $57,000 already is what they saying for classes I have taken and still no degree. I'm very disappointed and upset. Kind of lost respect for the school where my finances are concerned. I take full responsibility if I'm wrong and I will just have to make away to pay. But, I should have to come out my pocket if funds were mismanaged.:(
Argosy University is a great school. I can work at my own pace without having to worry about sitting through long lectures. I enjoy the convenience off my schedule. I sign on, do my work then im back to taking care of my three children. Online classes are easier for people who are uneasy with the though of being in large class rooms for hours surrounded by over 30 people. Online classes give me the sense of one on one. I interact with my peers but I still have my own voice. I have been attending Argosy University since May of 2011. I am pleased with the experiences, classes and people Ive met. I will continue to strive until my graduation date.
I absolutely LOVE Argosy University Online! I am going online to pursue an Associates Degree in Psychology, and then hopefully further my education through them. I do not think that it is easy work handed out to their students, I too, have had to sacrifice a lot to get to where I am at academically. I, in my first semester of College, made the "Presidents List" on the Honor Roll, that is above the Deans list, and I had to work my butt off to get there. I love my Professors, I have learned a lot so far, and I love the University. I am sorry to all those on here that have had a bad experience, But I have had nothing but good experiences. However, I do have to say that getting a hold of the Financial Aid Counselor has been really difficult, that is my only complaint.
I would suggest this program to people who have little to no experience with college. I believe, after doing extensive research that it is worth at least getting an associates degree with Argosy. The staff of counseling professionals have been excellent. They walked me through every step of the financial aid process and I was able to get my school paid in full for the most part. Before starting, I called other schools such as Fuller Theological seminary, UCLA and Notre Dame. All well renowned schools of which share the same accreditation as Argosy University. The name of the accreditation is Senior College and University Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (985 Atlantic Avenue, Suite 100, Alameda, California, 94501, http://www.wascsenior.org). upon calling these institutions, I asked the question "If I wanted to transfer to your college after receiving credits from Argosy University online would the credits transfer?" They all responded similarly: If I receive my associates degree through Argosy the credits will absolutely transfer. After that there isn't any guarantees depending on the contents of the classes. So far I am well into my fifth class and the substance of each class has been easily paced, communication from staff and students is diligent and any thing that I have learned was because I had learned it my self previously through books I have read. My comparison is based on my local community college that seemed to dump a ton of work load on students the second you started class, which, of course is to be expected. My local community college also did not help me with the financial aid process, and gave me attitude whenever I would ask them questions about financial aid, degree programs or even choices in classes they had to offer. I understand that Argosy university may be using sales tactics to get me to attend their school, I am not oblivious to this fact. However, I would not have started school for many years without my counselors direction. I do not know what my educational choice will be after I receive my associates, this will all depend on what the local colleges require of me. I do know that my education is more important to me than just receiving a piece of paper. I want to learn as much as I can while I am in school, and if my core classes are as lame as my associates are I will be going else where. I am also seeking out Internship programs with in my area of study which will allow for me to receive as much hands on experience as I can so that when ever I graduate I can say I have years of work experience under my belt. By the way, Organizational Leadership was my chosen degree path. I hope I was helpful. If you don't believe me, call these colleges for yourself.
I had an excellent experience with Argosy University and I am proud to say I am a recent graduate of the Masters in Organizational Leadership. I was a fully online student and Argosy allowed me the flexibility I needed. It was not easy at all, and I had to sacrifice a lot to get my degree, but what I learned in the process will stay with me for many years to come. Studying different leadership styles and the case studies were my favorite parts of the program. I finished in about 15 months and had a wonderful experience with the Admissions staff, Academic Advisors, as well as Financial Aid. I just received my degree in the mail the other day and can't wait to frame it. I would highly recommend this program to any working professional looking to move into management or increase leadership skills.
To start off I am currently a student with Argosy Online. I have never had any trouble getting responses from instructors, financial aid, or anyone else. I believe all of my work has been graded fairly.. even if I haven't particularly like some of them. I would absolutely recommend Argosy to friends and family. School is what you make of it and so is your career opportunities. If you don't lay the ground work you will never go anywhere in life. Some people just don't want to apply themselves and find it easier to blame others for their shortcomings.
