Argosy University Online Reviews
Student & Graduate Reviews (114)
POOR customer service, people never answer the phones unless your are a new enrolled student. After enrollment you must make multiple calls to get an answer in 72 hours or more. painful experience through the whole program. The instructors are excellent but the school itself is not worth it. I should have attended a better online program that actually helps students, I graduated with a Master degree but will never recommend family or friend to go through the painstaking experience. I don't know how any business operates without customers or referrals??? Signed a disappointed student.
My total experience with Argosy University was positive from start to finish. My Academic Advisor was always available. She always had answers for me. My Financial Advisor was outstanding to help me through the total process. Some of the Educators were better than others, but the majority were excellent! As a prior student at a "brick and mortar" college, the online experience was very different. However, overall the experience was exciting and rewarding.
I recently completed my doctorate degree through Argosy University's online program and it was a great experience. My academic adviser contacted me regularly and my interaction with my professors was better than expected. The Organizational Leadership curriculum at Argosy University was relevant and coincides with what I am being taught now in my professional military education. The resources provided by the school such as dissertation residency opportunities, webinars, digitized text books that save the student purchase costs, and the numerous online research programs afforded to students are invaluable. A testament to my review at Argosy University was my experience during the dissertation phase of my program, my chair provided me timely feedback and expertise that helped me overcome the challenge. What's more, Argosy University is also a Yellow Ribbon school which means that it covers any additional costs that exceed Post-9/11 G.I. Bill coverage. Overall, my experience was very enjoyable at Argosy University and I am a proud alumni.
This school is nothing more than a money grubbing farce. My education has been a joke. Even my admission process, which was minimal was in my eyes inadequate, took essentially two hours. I went in for information about their programs and left a student. It was easier than buying a car. The admissions staff wear headsets like they are telemarketers ready with rebuttals. Although I thought this odd, I admit it was nice to not have to jump through any hoops. I was suppose to write an essay so the admissions staff sat with me at a computer and told me what to write. I was suppose to have a formal interview but instead I just ended up on the phone talking with someone who was cooking at the same time. My professor who is also the head of the department has no experience or knowledge base of the program. It is a Forensics Program and he has a doctorate in business admin.Throughout my classes, of which he has essentially taught all, he has given little to no real feed back. The syllabus for the courses have almost always been cut and pasted with incorrect dates and information. Rarely has our assignment grades been posted in a timely manner if at all. Often, I have no idea how I've been doing in the class until I have my final grade posted. From the very beginning of the program, my degree process has been mixed. They have changed my courses required, the length of the courses, the degree paths that one can focus on, the requirements to graduate and eventually implemented a comprehensive exam to complete at the end which I feel minimally prepared for. I am currently in my seminar and will be graduated in April. I have wasted and exorbitant amount of money on a degree program that I was led to believe would lead to me being licensed. Which it will not.
Argosy started off promising. The academic counselor was awesome and made sure I was understanding everything. I did notice that the students in my class couldn't spell and most of what they were posting was nothing to do with what was asked. Then my counselor left and that's when the ball dropped. I paid for micro office and the process to get it was ridiculous and after four classes I still never received it. Trying to get someone from financial to call me has been a nightmare. I have never been to online school before and was told I would spend about 20 hours a week on homework and reading. The amount of reading was way more then twenty hours and the assignment that followed was a waste of time. The posts are very hard to reply to because the other students had no idea what they were talking about and most I couldn't even understand. After my fourth class I decided I had enough. This online school says it has all these resources like tutoring but they don't. Also when I asked any of my professors questions about assignments they never responded. If they did which was twice, it was like a robot message. The introductory classes are such a waste of money and time. Please don't be fooled by there motivational speeches. They are what they are, for profit.
This school is awesome , my advisor was such great help he lead me through the whole enrollment process. He is very motivational and has high hopes for his students , I have yet to start my online classes but by the looks of it I already love that the online classes provide tutoring and all other tools to help you become successful.
VETERANS BEWARE! This school, particularly S. A. and J. P. will not help you through the process. They're only concerned with the numbers. They both let my husband start without having the proper paperwork filled out. S. promised him grants if he started right away then stuck us with a 4000$ bill. The second class he was not even able to finish because S. and J. had not filled out the proper paperwork. However, they discontinued my husbands class AFTER the drop out date. Convenient? I think for them. Then they were less than helpful with payment options. Please stay away from this FOR PROFIT school. It's nothing but trouble. Proceed with caution.
Argosy University is an amazing school. The teachers are very helpful and understanding. I was honored to make president's list and recieve a certificate. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to move further in there education or career. 5 stars to this school.
My undergrad experience at Ashford was so wonderful, and then I arrived at Argosy. What a great big disappointment. The worst part about Argosy is the professors. They are all so obviously there to collect a part time job paycheck. They aren't friendly, helpful, or mentoring. One even sent out the entire class a bizarre rambling email that mentioned he was high on painkillers. LOL. Then, there are all the Argosy polices. Policies on top of policies. The one I found the most disgusting? That even if you're in the hospital they still charge you for the course you had to drop. There is no refund unless you file an appeal and that rate of success? Dismal. The school sucks. I won't be working on my doctorate there.
Argosy University is an awful institution. After working and consistently paying on my payment plan, Argosy still screwed me over. I was set to graduate during this commencement. I was e-mailed and told 2 weeks prior to the commencement that per their policy I still could not graduate. This institution is some cut and I would never recommend that you attend. If you do so, do not believe what they tell you about the experience you can expect because everything that they are saying is only to get you in there. I wish I had listened to my mother and attended Bowie State University. Do yourself a favor, do not attend this institution where no one keeps their word.
