I attended Ashford University trying to get my Bachelors in HR Management. It seemed like after I started one thing after another was happening. I had to have surgery, we had to move and many more things. They were not understanding at all. I was told I still had to complete the work even though I had surgery. I asked for a leave, they granted it, but then the leave never happened. When I asked what happened, I was told they made a mistake and I had to complete the next course. I was unable to and ended up being kicked out because of this. Now they refuse to transfer my credits. I am not happy with this school at all and would not recommend them to anyone.
My Depressing Ashford University Student Loan Debt Costs As Much as a House in Oklahoma, and It's Not Even a Doctorate. If you want you can read more about it here. It's too depressing and long to type out again. Also, it was such a terrible, expensive experience. I wrote about it here, and keep in mind, I graduated recently in November 2018 with a Master's in Psychology and you can learn a little more about Ashford's shady history as well.
I have been with Ashford since Feb 2018 and have had nothing but a great experience. Even with a little mishap just now with my account and unpaid balance from last year it was taken care immediately. However, this is an ONLINE school, at a teach yourself type pace. If you put in the effort and time, you will receive good greats. The instructors, at least the ones I have come in contact with, have been helpful and understanding.
Ashford University is an excellent University. The staff are great and go the extra mile to assist students. Whenever possible, I attend all of their networking events. It is great meeting the Ashford team. Any negative comments posted here, I feel are a reflection of the student and not the University. I would recommend Ashford to my friends and family. Go Ashford! Great University!
I completed my bachelors at Ashford University, and will have completed my MBA by February 2019. Many of the bad reviews are from those individuals that should have never attended a college. The others were clueless about fiscal responsibility when they applied for loans. Stop complaining that you are in debt. You all signed off that you understood the consequences of debt, and were provided a monthly estimation of what it would take for the loan to be repaid. The college has well structured courses, an easy to use portal, and good instructors. There are a few bad apples just like any brick and mortar, but I had a good experience with Ashford and you may too. Just understand what you are signing up for, and what it will take to pay the loans if you choose to take them. Most importantly you need to understand that this is a college and not a summer school. Courses will take work and dedication. Its not as easy as online commercials make classes out to be. Ive basically had no life outside of school, family, and work for the last 6 years. Good luck and enjoy the review!
Well I started in may 19th,2015. was suppose to graduate in 2019. It started out well and I loved the University, the teachers where cool. Then in Jan 2016 it all changed. I didn't get but 1 financial aid check. now I owe 6 grand. rip off school. don't go.
I'm graduating from Ashford in 9 weeks and I can say that Ashford ha been a difficult but fulfilling experience. I have worked on my course many times well into the night - but the support from the school (teachers, tutors, etc.) has been great. Yes, it is expensive, and it is not for everyone; but again, my experience has been great. Issues that others experience with enrollment, financial aid, etc - are many times caused by that student not following through as I have never had such issues and everyone involved from the school has been very responsive. I believe I only had one issue with an instructor - but it was resolved quickly and without further issues with guidance from my academic adviser. Ashford is worth the work,
I was enrolled at Ashford about 3 years ago. I enjoyed my experience up until the day I had to have emergency surgery. They decided to drop me from my class and then proceeded to charge me about $2000, to reenroll me in it without my permission. I had a hard time at this point with pain medication and always being tired. I had three kids on top of school and managed to get all b's in my classes up to this point. Now that i am ready to reenter school and have found one that will work for me they have decided to hold onto my transcript and make it so that i can not used the credits i earned from them. I never asked to be dropped then re-enrolled. and when i talked to them about it they acted like they understood. They are a rip off and i am working to get their accreditation taken away from them.
My time at Ashford University was simply amazing. I was able to maintain a 3.27 GPA overall and I really loved my professors because they taught me everything I needed to know about Business. They were caring, patient and very insightful because they did not lecture but they provided the best means for understanding the information. If you had problems you could reach out to them and always get a response. The schedules were just perfect for my work hours because I was able to maintain that GPA and keep my work hours so that my family would not starve. I wanted to go back to Ashford, but unfortunately they do not over a Doctorate program. So I had to switch schools in order to complete my Doctorate Degree. I obtained my degree in Business Administration and it will be effective once I get to the point of obtaining a job that will allow me to shine in my chosen career.
Peace/blessings! I received my Bachelors/Masters degree from Ashford in 2014/2016 respectively. Both of my degrees were online. Personally I do not understand those making negative remarks about Ashford. My experience was remarkable and rewarding, to say the least. Whenever there was a problem it was handled in the swiftest of time. My degrees have allowed me to relocate to China in Nov. 2015 to teach in English. As I write this message I am still in China teaching. My Ashford education has enhanced my teaching profession and I'm currently 14 months from my Doctoral Degree, not from Ashford. I wish Ashford did offer Ph.D's. Nevertheless my education at Ashford has opened many doors and broaden my perspective on life and learning. Thank you Ashford! ASHFORD RULES!!!!
