I would like to give you my perspective of my search for a good college, my experience and where I am now because of Ashford. I have my Bachelors degree in in Health Care. I am currently a retired Physical Therapist. My organization/agency was strongly recommending Masters and Doctorate level pursuits. Since I was towards the end of career as a therapist is was not interested in further my PT Degree but was leaning toward Management. I started with School who claimed to cater to military personal. But during my first class I was deployed for Disaster Relief and could not attend evening classes because we did not have electricity. This school would not consider this as a hardship and I failed the class for attendance at full cost. After a year of searching, still gun-shy from this experience, I found Ashford. I enrolled and began classes. I found the learning and interaction with Faculty and Classmates very stimulating. I finished with my Masters degree and applied for a position as a CEO for Health Care Center, and now I oversee Six Hospitals and several Ambulatory Care facilities. My education through Ashford was a great investment.
Listen to this review. I got my breakthrough at Ashford University. The school is reliable but expensive. There is a lot of work that is required, but most of it is writing. Ashford is an equal opportunity school. Meaning it generally lets anyone attend that applies. The real issue is that most of the negative posts are from people that should not be going to college in the first place. The students that post negative comments holistically cant fulfill the rigorous standards and are upset when they have to return their precious government funds. Remember that this University is regionally accredited which is the gold standard in academia. I am now enrolled in ta graduate program through a respected University. Thanks again to Ashford University.
My Ashford experience was almost exclusively excellent. I was exceptionally pleased with the intake by eight wonderful counselor. The instructors were almost always helpful. The resources provided were very good, especially for my exclusively online degree path.

This College sets you up for failure at the very beginning! A year after starting the process to attend courses, having my finical aide approved, and taking out student loans; now they are demanding that I supply them with a state ID (that I didn't have a year ago) and cannot afford to get right now! I have been dis-enrolled as of today, with more than $10K due in loans, and I owe them more than $6K in courses. In order to get that all taken care of, I have to get my ID (which takes several weeks), and start the process all over again (re-enroll). I choose this college because I thought that I would be able to get an affordable education. Now I'm going to have 6 months to pay to either get back into college or pay it all back! I have worked so hard to get to where I am, now I have been knocked down, and have to start all over again. This last year has been a complete and total waste of time and money! Hopefully I can get this situated in a timely manner, and further my education with a college that assist me, rather than blindside me!
This school is negative 5 in my book. I am currently enrolled in their International Business Program. It is a joke. My school is being paid for by a family member. IF YOU ARE SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY, DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT TAKE OUT LOANS, DO NOT PASS GO. They have tried stealing my money on multiple occasions, aka charging me for classes I never took. I have sent my academic advisor 4 emails over the past month and I just now am getting an email from a different advisor stating she is taking over, but my old advisor has not scheduled me for classes. This means if I am not scheduled within the next week- I am wasting time and not working as hard as I can toward my degree. Bottom line, this school wants your money but suck at communication. No one knows what is going on, no one knows who is supposed to be helping who. You can spend your money somewhere else. Not to mention, these classes are like $1500 each and they STILL CHARGE FOR BOOKS. Go somewhere else. Highly recommended.
This school is terrible!!! They are a for profit school and do not care at all about the students. They want the money. I have had several issues with my advisors who when I asked for a break from class said ok we can do it for this long then the school sends me attendence warnings and tell me I am going to be dropped from the class!! When I call them out and send them the emails they sent me saying I could have the break they stopped responding!!! The last break I took my advisor told me I could have month off so I said ok lets do it. 2 weeks later I was called telling me the school is going to drop me for not posting in classes. I was not in a class at the time!!! It was ironic that my next disburstment of loans were going to hit a month later so instead I got schedule 2 weeks earlier to start and they cut my break short on their own!!!
I earned my Bachelor's in Business Administration from Ashford in 2017. I am now pursuing my Masters in Business Administration through Ashford. It was hard work, and required effort and motivation on my part. After earning my degree I am making more money then I ever have in my life. It's about the work YOU put into it, and what YOU do with your degree afterwards. I love this school and would recommend it to anyone. Throughout my program I talked to several different advisors, but they were all AWESOME and truly cared about my success.
This school only cares about how money they can extort from the students and do not care about your education. When I first started aside from the financial aid being a complete mess and no support form the financial aid department. Then I started taking their classes, and everything was great, and then I started to run into one teacher after another that hardly reply to questions and when they do they are rude and spiteful and sarcastic. I have found that they tend to give you a bad degree, so you have to re-take classes, so you have to spend more money for classes. The advisors are inconsistent and do not have your best interest at heart to guide you in the right direction. I had a 4.0 GPA, and the required classes are done, and my advisor refused to allow me to apply to honors college. As you get closer to graduating they require you to pay thousands of dollars to graduate or to transfer your transcripts. The mentality is here is your book, and your assignments figure it out. Which is fine with me but then when I get publicly ridiculed in discussion with my peers for not doing it right, I grow tired of the abuse and feel that there are so many other colleges out there that take much better care of their students. They do not care about the students they only care about money and how much they can extort out of students while allowing their teachers to grade on personal feelings and not on merit of work.
This school is a complete rip off. They cut your transfer credits down so you have to take more classes with them, hence more money. Also the Instructors, especially the ones that are so called Doctors try to fail you at every opportunity, so of course you have to take even more classes. Some of the Instructors are also insulting to students. Making snide remarks on papers. And some treat the papers like they are doctoral thesis, instead of undergrad weekly course work. Avoid Ashford, there are much better and more professional schools. I wish I could give it minus stars.
