I recently got a BS degree from Ashford University Online. The overall experience was very good. My teachers were knowledgeable and helpful. The coursework was tough but fair and was easy to fit into my busy lifestyle. Using a web browser and email to get a degree was incredibly simple! My classmates all felt the same way.
I am in my sixth class with Ashford University. All of my previous credits transferred in from my AS degree at another school. They do not require any "group" or team project which I prefer. I love the school. I have attended AIU which I felt was a ripoff and then University of Pheonix another grand ripoff. I then went to Herzing College online and they were wonderful. I chose Ashford for my BA because they offered what I wanted to study. Do far my experience has been great!
I already received an AS degree and wanted to finish a BS degree. I don't have time for traditional school and found Ashford through a buddy. Next time I see my buddy, I'm going to kick his rear end. Before enrolling I was told that more than 80 units would transfer to Ashford. *After* enrolling, the school went from transferring 59 units, switching it to 31, then deciding on 56 units. Obviously a far cry from what I was told. You can find help when you're looking to enroll, but I have received no responses from the academic adviser nor the financial adviser (I needed to check on the status of my loan...no response). Plus they could not seem to straighten out my personal online data and their blackboard program is subject to failure. My advice is to find a school other than Ashford, unless you like being lied to.
I have been very pleased with Ashford University. Their program was similar to the one I was enrolled in a few years ago at a different university so it was easy to transfer my credits. I especially like that there are no group projects. Group projects worked at my other university when I was attending classes and the members were local. I tried their online program and did not find the group experience to be as beneficial. I am finishing up my fifth class this week at Ashford and getting ready for the next class. Things are going well so far and I don't have any complaints with communications with advisors or anyone else I've had to contact. I highly recommend Ashford to anyone seeking a quality education.
Hi everyone, I want to say that Ashford is not that bad. I currently attend Ashford and I will be for the next two years and I personally think at times they can be unprofessional and not return calls but if you send them an email they respond go figure. Anyway my overall experience is ok so far. But the best is yet to come.
I love the fact that I can attend class anytime of day or night. The program is challenging, but well planned and easy to follow. Ashford is also a great deal too. I am very happy with my decision.
I am now attending Ashford for my MBA program. I have titled this "Thank God" because when I requested information on online school I was overwhelmed with schools calling me. Ashford did not give up and one day I finally answered; my entrance adviser, Jaime, personalized my educational plan and made it very clear that she would help me find the perfect program even if that was not a Ashford. Ashford was the university I choose because it had two important factures: 1. degree does not say online, 2. I do not have to do group work which means I earn my own Masters, and 3. Jaime had so much information on so many schools. Over all I really like my classes and Jaime did a thorough job preparing to be successful.
I have just started my 5th class with Ashford. For those who have complained about the price, I would love to know what schools they have looked at. They assisted me with getting the financial aid I needed. I am not thrilled with having little choice on my books, but the prices are no worse than I paid at the campus bookstore in Jr. College.
I have found all of my teachers to be competent, and the courses well designed. This is a school for people who like to write, which was my reason for chosing Ashford. Other On-line schools required going to test sites, or hiring an approved person to do it. Ashford asks you to prove understanding by writing papers at the end of each course.
I received credit for every single class I took previously and the courses that I had completed by CLEP. I have received prompt response on every inquiry.
ust Remember that online course are for the mature and self-motivated. Only sign up for classes on-line if you are ready to take responsibility for your education!
Ashford is hands down the best school I have ever attended, the coursework is challenging, My advisor is very helpful and I can see the support that they said i would recieve. This is my 3rd online school and also the best and last one i will be attending. My advisor was extremely informative, and answers all of my calls unlike some others it sounds like! Would recommend it to anybody looking for a high qaulity education, at times it can be a little tough but I'm doing well so far! 6 classes left yay!!!
I'm in my last week of classes at Ashford. What a lifesaver this has been. Although I can't speak for everyone else, here's my experience: My advisor: Returns calls within 24 hours and usually even sooner. Has called and emailed me routinely to make sure that I'm on track, doing well and don't have any problems or questions. Financial Aid: Although a bit screwy, what school's FA department isn't a bit screwy? My FA advisor clearly states that he will return your call within 48 hours and he always has. He responds to emails and voice mails and yes, even picks up now and then. He's been very helpful Professors: Hit and miss just like every school. 90% have been absolutely great and help with whatever you need. Bottom line: A real school with a real campus and real coursework. If you don't like independent study, then this is not for you.
