"I was part of the classes of med central.... when asu bought med central and I have to say that every student that was trasfered there was treated differently. There were great professors that lost their job over this and it wasn't right. Then they(ASU) wanted to double if not triple my tuition!!! ...but its your choice...for me to be in debt forever...You are not a great university...your a scam!!!! You bought my university told me I had to pay double which I couldn't afford... so what did I do .... I had no choice I had no choice but to quit. Ashland University is nothing but a money hungry university"

"I absolutely HATE this school. They HATE people of collar and question their knoweledge, so I had to take EACH TEST TWICE to prove that I know the staff. Only 1st time was counted toward the grade. Professor is very UNPROFESSIONAL they have no problem to tell student ""I do not think that you should be the nurse" even so I did NOT ask for their opinion. My clinical instructor was abusing me, she yelled at me because I was not able to respond, so when she was in bad mood we all was scared. I cry to many times due to abuse, but no one cared. I had to leave school in last semester, because my clinical instructor was trying to fail me, she was not letting me to practice any of my skills."

"The professors at the college offer little to no help in writing your capstone project. You will spend thousands of dollars retaking a one credit hour class because none of the professors actually know how the process works. It is painful to go through classes only to watching YouTube videos (20-30 per week) to learn how to become FNP's. There are no powerpoint, lectures or EFFORT in any of the courses. Each student receives a different answer from professors and things are explained last minute. There has been so many weeks in the three years that I have been in the program where something has not been posted properly or done correctly the first time."

"I received a very good education here. I do feel as though the cost is over priced and students should not have to pay so much for a good education and the organization when it came to clinicals was bad at times. But overall the school gave me a guaranteed BSN in just 4 years and had small class sizes which made learning much easier and plenty of hands on opportunities in their state of the art simulation labs."

"It was a great experience. I liked that the school was small and I have received individual attention from the professors. They were genuinely interested in my success at school and provided me tools to be successful once I've graduated."

"I greatly enjoyed the MBA program at Ashland. The professors were knowledgeable and the classes were very diverse, which helped prepare me for my career. The small class sizes were nice and enabled the professor to get to know each individual student. Every class had group projects to showcase what we learned. Overall, I can't imagine having a much better MBA experience."

"I like MBA Graduate programs because it gives me an opportunity to become a better me. I will improve myself and make me more marketable on the Job. The Diversified courses that are taught will make me relevant in practically all career areas from the service industry such as Restaurants to Financial industry- Banking and Insurance, to Manufacturing and indeed Education. The Volume of reading and research work is another advantage as our knowledge base is further enhanced. Also I have come across Professors who have been teaching for several years and also have practical experiences in their various fields and therefore communicate effectively in class. On the flip side, I do not honestly see any disadvantage of being in Graduate school. The most important thing for me is that I will be a better me at the end of the day."

"I am a non-traditional student at Ashland University pursuing a teaching license. While Ashland boasts a lovely campus, I'm impressed with the academic quality. The Bachelor Plus program is specifically designed for the full-time professional looking to change or enhance career opportunities. The class I am currently taking is relatively small and the teacher is excellent. So far, I'm enjoying the experience and am learning so much!"

"If you are looking to study Early Childhood Education, then Ashland University is worth looking into! The education program is amazing. Ashland is a private institution, so class sizes are small and individualized. This was one of my favorite parts about studying at AU. Another reason I choose to study at Ashland, is because of the amount of time I was able to spend within the field. Starting your freshman year, you get to experience what it is like in the field. After your freshman year, you begin student teaching for 13 weeks every year in either the fall or spring semester. Not many other schools offer over 600 hours of teaching experience in regular and inclusive classrooms at partner schools in the area, opportunities to expand your marketability by adding a grades 4-5 endorsement, Spanish minor or dual licensure with early childhood intervention, Learning the best practices in teaching, assessment and classroom management that will make you highly qualified and accountable for your students’ learning, Unique experiences that make you stand out: meeting professional children’s authors and illustrators, student teaching in the Southern United States or in 17 different countries, working with faculty on research projects and professional presentations, Learning the latest technologies, such as SMART Boards, and how to use them in primary classrooms. Ashland produces some of the most qualified teachers in the area, and I have more than enjoyed my time at AU. My professors and advisors are top knotch and really know how to prepare for your first teaching job. They work closely with carrerr services department to find students teaching positions after graduating. I feel really prepared for once I graduate, and I honestly feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to attend a school that produces such quality teachers."

"College has definitely been a defining part of my life full of self-discovery and growth. Ashland has great academic programs that provide students with hands on experience. Almost all the professors genuinely care about you and your education which means that you as the student get individual attention. In the College of Business, there are particularly good study abroad opportunities. There are semester exchange programs as well as a summer program in Taiwan that are designed specifically for business majors. Another great aspect of Ashland is that it is a small university with friendly people and very active organizations. Our Campus Activity Board (CAB) is award winning, and we have a growing Greek Life community in addition to several other organizations. There is always something going on (not necessarily something huge and exciting but something), and you can make great friends. The only problem that I encountered at Ashland was in Founders (the administrative building). I found that the administration was not always very open in their communication with the students which resulted in us getting blind-sided by decisions that directly effected us. While my friends and I understand that many of those decisions had to be made, we just would have liked the chance to have input or at least a heads up. Additionally, several of my friends repeatedly had issues with the business office/financial aid at the beginning of the semester. Ultimately, I had a good experience at Ashland, received a fine education, and made life long friends, but Ashland was not without its headaches. I know that they are trying to improve and Student Senate is always trying to get the administration to be more communicative with students, but I don't know when/if improvements will be seen. All I can really say is that Ashland University is a great place to go to college, but be aware of the problems and weigh that in your mind before making a decision."
