Degree: Network Security
Graduation Year: 2017
"Just graduated with my associates in Computer Information System. I have great things to say about the school and some not so great. Quite a few folks are dogging Ashworth, but I want to clear some things about the school. First, are credits transferable? They aren't. Don't come here and expect to transfer to another school with them. Most folks enrolling here should know that once they're in, they should see it through. Is communication with teachers hard? It can be. Some teachers are easy to get a hold of, some are not. I never experienced a time where it hindered my course work. Are textbooks outdated? Some might be a few revisions behind, but if you ever taken a college course in your life, you know very little changes from revision to revision. We all know that is mainly a ploy to force students into buying the latest and greatest. Is Ashworth a for-profit school? Yes. But if it wasn't for the endless stream of taxpayer dollars propping public universities, they would also be for-profit. It really doesn't change the educational experience. I will add that sometimes dealing with student center hotline can be dreadful, so be patient with some of these people. Having said all that, Ashworth does, in fact, offer amazing value. They proved to be cheaper than even most community colleges. The student portal is well-laid out and easy to navigate and use. Course material is college grade and can range from easy to moderately difficult depending on your major. The approach of 'school at your own time' is great for those working moms and dads that can only squeeze in a few hours of schooling a week. I was able to finish my associates degree in under a year. I attempted to get a degree 3 other times in the past. Sitting in a classroom with some idiot kid never worked for me. Ashworth's formula worked great for me. So, if you're a working person out there, perhaps with a family, that needs a degree because new society realities are forcing you to get one, Ashworth College might just be what you're looking for. And no, I don't work for Ashworth. I'm a newly graduated student that is extremely happy with the results."
