Ashworth College is a great College! It was just the right fit for me while having a family and running my own businesses. I was able to use my college diploma to help me in my businesses and also when I needed a job I had no problem getting one because of the diploma and actually it helped me to have a better position in management because of the diploma. Also I am studying for the psychology degree program for a bachelors and I love it. there was no problems with the school, just had to make sure that I call them if I needed something and stay on course.
Let me start with they are quick to take money from you , I signed up for AS in Criminal Justice they messed it up and put me in a certificate program luckily I noticed it. Lack of direction Book does not Match the course Course Orientation showers different from What the actual dash bird is poor help from Phone line reps they rude and sound always like u bother them why you calling what do you want type of attitude.... Just Sad and iv never wrote a Review in my life but I am so upset that I have to spread the word some how. Please call look in to the info before u sig up I was told its Nationaly Acredited but seem to hear other. Will need to double check
I completed my Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Ashworth which had been a lifelong goal. The format , pace and price are the right fit for a busy working adult with family commitments who wants to complete their education. I immersed myself in the curriculum, which allowed me to retain a lot of the information from the program and that's exactly what I wanted. I am actively looking for a regionally accredited Graduate degree program in Criminal Justice and I feel that the education I received here at Ashworth College provided me with the tools I need to succeed at the Graduate level. In order to provide the reader with full disclosure , I have to mention the areas where Ashworth has to improve. The customer and administrative services at this school are awful. Expect to have your requests delayed, answered incorrectly or have the contracted employees treat you with little care or regard for your education. This is an area where Ashworth has to greatly improve, and if you notice a great deal of the negative responses on this site are due to the fact that they receive really poor customer service when they ask for assistance. Here is a general warning for students who require a real professor or staff to guide them along through their course of study, there are no real instructors for these courses. This is a true self-paced model, where the student has to be an independent learner in order to succeed, especially at the Bachelors levels as the course work does get more difficult. You will have access to tutors and a real life human being will correct your papers with feedback, but there is little else outside of those areas where you have live interaction with classmates or directly with the instructor, it is almost non-existent in most of the programs. Lastly, I wish Ashworth College would fine tune its programs and apply for regional accreditation for their college programs, so the issue could finally be put to rest. I am in a government position and the degree is fully recognized, but if they would finally take the leap and get regional accreditation it really would elevate Ashworths reputation. Those of us that are sick of hearing about the debate of who holds the gold standard in accreditation could finally rest knowing that Ashworth has made the commitment to offer the so called most accepted form of accreditation for their students.
I completed my Associates in Criminal Justice with Ashworth College in 2004. I had no issues with their websites nor did I have a problem finding a proctor at the nearby colleges. Tuition prices were great and you couldn't beat the low monthly payments for the program. Currently looking into my Bachelors with them now!
College was exactly that. Long hours of study, difficult projects. Classes you know really want to do or fully understand... but rewarding when you are finished. I started off with the Bachelor's program, but had switch to Associates as it fit better with my educational goals. After I was finished, I called the school and re-enrolled back in to the Bachelor's program.
I am from Canada and actually enrolled in the undergraduate certificate in Criminal Justice as well as the Forensic Science program since August. I am pleased! The courses materials are interesting and easy to understand. The staff are always very polite and cordial and quick to answer all of my questions. I'm just starting so I will post another review once I have my degree and diploma. Ashworth College is awesome so far!
I have enrolled for the AA program but I was so pleased of the course that I continued, the staff always answer the phone and provide guidance and help when necessary The course is at your own pace and very clear, it really challenged me and, being an English second language student it improved also my English ... will enroll in the master program soon.
I had an awesome experience! Everything was as the representative had told me, it was affordable and very convenient. I am planning on going back for a few more courses. I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids so having the flexibility and self-pace is very important and with Ashworth College I can do just that.
I enrolled with the medical billing and coding program 12 days ago. I was initially able to review all of the documentation that was sent to me. I was able to immediately log into the student portal and access the workspace. However, upon trying to complete the first lesson, the student handbook was mislabeled as career guidebook and did not match up with the correspondence in that lesson. I also could not access the orientation that was recommended that I watch. I sent a ticket in asking for clarification and received a response several days later that was very vague. I tried to contact the school two previous times by phone, both times I would select my choice on the automated menu and it directed me to the student survey line. Yesterday morning, I sent an email requesting withdrawal and a full refund of the total amount that I paid. I have not received a response. I contacted the school again today, finally reached a human being, proceeded to tell my experience and was transferred unknowingly to the survey line again! I called back, got a new person, and she claimed that I never called that line because no one else has complained, and that i did receive a response about my ticket submission, although it was not the answer I was looking for. I am a previous student of a well known university. I am a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. I am a member of an elite honors sorority. I take my education very seriously. With that said, the best they could offer was a $400 refund, of which I have paid almost $900 in full for the program! So this has cost me almost $500 in 12 days and I have no resolve. This is highly unacceptable, and I wouldn't recommend Ashworth to my enemy. Proceed very cautiously!!!!!
I am a recent graduate of Ashworth with a degree in Marketing. I currently have a career in marketing with one of the US's largest and most respected resort/outdoor recreation companies. I am also in the process of obtaining my Masters from Capella, which is an institution that holds the same regional accreditation as all the state colleges around this region (HLC-NCA). Transferring from Ashworth was harder than transferring from community college when attempting to move between institutions holding different accreditation standards. Not all brick and mortar schools view alternative methods of education as valid and subsequently the distance education accreditation that they hold. The education I received was on par with my experience at state college with obvious exceptions in learning styles. Ashworth is more akin to homeschooling. It is up to you to be motivated and willing to budget your effort. You’ll be utilizing the same text books as state but will be in a situation where you won’t have a teacher to explain every detail should you need it. You also must be prepared to succeed. Given the opportunity, I admit that I would have gladly abandoned an accounting course once I had a passing grade but the college would not allow me to move forward until I had passed every exam, quiz, and assignment. This is a detail I did not realize until well into the curriculum but is for the best. If you’re dedicated, driven, and a self-learner, this could be for you. If you need to hear a teacher’s opinion on every detail, this is probably not for you. If you’re up for it, it’s a great alternative to traditional lecture based education. I would score 4 ½ stars if I could. This is due to communication being slower than I would have liked from the school.
