I began with Ashworth several years ago, and finally graduated recently with a 4.0,with an applied science degree in Psych. Some of these courses are self paced, which is great for us older peeps....because life got in the way several times while I was working so hard on trying to obtain my degree. I just kept plugging away. The courses themselves were VERY challenging and fun. The books arrived in a timely manner....customer service was adequate. They do have tutors which will call you and help you if you have any issues or problems understanding your courses. The monthly payment was a great addition and I have already paid off my loan to them. What you have to remember is this is an on line course, which is not as involved as actually being on a campus somewhere. But the courses seem adequate and are great for people who just don't have time for a college campus or a college life. Ashworth is an accredited school, however, transferring courses should be really looked into before signing any papers with this school. They make this quite clear in their paperwork, but I noticed many complaints from people who signed and just did not do their homework and felt that they should be able to transfer previous courses or something of that nature. Also, you have to remember, this is not Harvard; but the classes like I said, are very challenging, and fun to learn. I have nothing negative to say about Ashworth and have appreciated that opportunity to finally get my degree! This is something that I just wanted to do for myself! I think you will enjoy the school so be prepared to apply yourself
Ashworth College allowed me to reach my goals in my career . I was not that guy who was going to finish college, that was until I met Ashworth College. Ashworth college gives students the flexibility to finish school at your own pace. The tuition is very affordable. The school is nationally accredited which means it is accredited by the board of education. I currently work as a Detective in NYC. I am a law enforcement officer because of schools like Ashworth college. I started with pennfoster college became a cop and finished with ashworth college and received my associates. I will pursue my bachelors with Ashworth in the near future.
Recently completed my criminal justice degree at Ashworth college... I am so happy to receive my college degree! It was 3 years well spent. I sort of slacked off for a few months but I was back on it.
It's the cheapest, fully accredited college online. DETC is recognized by the US Department of Education and CHEA, making it absolutely legitimate. I picked Ashworth as my college of choice not only for the unbeatable tuition, but the convenience of studying when I can - I work three jobs, I would never have had time to make for school if it was scheduled. I looked into other Universities online regarding transferring for my Bachelor's, but why would I? Most of the cheapest colleges online are equally accredited by DETC/CHEA, so why would I pay a bit more to go to another college with the same accreditation and the same degrees? I know Regionally Accredited is the "bee's knees" regarding education, but the truth is that a lot of us don't have the finances (nor the desire to) take out a loan or make huge payments per month. This college is a godsend to those of us who are struggling to get by, who want an education to help us out in our career goals. On a side note, ever since obtaining my education, I've received numerous county job interviews. I'm currently being processed as a Detention Services Officer with the county I'm in, in California. If anything, Ashworth College is not just a quality education, it looks great on your resume to employers showing you took the time to even get a degree in the first place!
I am currently enrolled in Ashworth College working on my BA in General Business Studies and I LOVE IT!! Ashworth is considered self learning and they are very upfront about it upon enrollment. I have noticed a definite strengthening of academic requirements since my initial enrollment in 2012. I am currently taking my Gen Ed Biology and I have 2 4-page essays to write for this course! I am impressed. I started college back in 1987 as a college prep school graduate---but quickly burnt out. I am finding self learning at home with Ashworth more rewarding and more informative and educational than any brick and mortar school I attended. I love that Ashworth offers a graduation ceremony and I fully intend to walk across that stage in cap, gown and honor cord. I highly recommend Ashworth for the self motivated person who prefers to learn on their own without having to attend classes, lectures etc.
I currently attend this school and there is a lot of debate over whether its worth it to go to this school, I have to say i have never had issues with the staff or advisors, the advisors have been polite and professional from the beginning explaining every step of my education to me, and as for the price, I think you have to know what fits your needs. I was willing to pay a little more than what I would normally pay for a community college because it allowed me to pursue an education from home, and not compromise the quality time I spend with my children. This college isn't for everyone, you have to asses your own needs but it definitely benefitted me by allowing me to get my education at home and not compromise the time I spend with my kids as a stay at home mother :)
I have attended Ashworth College since 2012 to get my bachelors degree in criminal justice. I have had no problems and the school has been very helpful. My employers who have regionally accredited degrees had no problem with the school being DETC accredited. I have nothing but good things to say about Ashworth and it has been a great experience for me.
So far I've been enrolled in this school for about 3 months, and I realize it may be isolated, but my experience has been very poor. I was very motivated initially and spoke with a academic adviser and was very displeased with the car sales high pressure approach to selling the program. I wanted to be enrolled in the Retail MGR associate degree program and duel with the certificate program. I told the rep I wanted to do this because I wanted to graduate fairly early and she agreed this would be an excellent idea, what I wasn't told was that its not possible to do both at the same time. So somehow our call was disconnected and when I called back I couldn't get a hold of my first rep just more salesmen either very rude or dismissive altogether. I however enrolled into the Retail management program and called to cancel my certificate because i has not pleased with the school. Anyway I never was enrolled in the coarse I wanted I ended up in the Career diploma program. Oh well I suppose, they told me I lose my down payment to switch over so why would I give them more money. I did have a very kind person try to help me when my next 2 payments magically doubled but other than that its been miserable. My first book took over a month to receive, so they priorited me another which I appreciated but they said my address wasn't valid. My book however did eventually arrive a week or so after they said it couldn't? The material isn't bad I suppose very very easy but theirs alot of conflicting information which can dock your test score if you don't guess the right ideal. There is also several misspelled words and bad references, which hurt one of my scores. Anyway it cheap and probably not worth much, my employer doesn't care but it could help one get a quick jump on job skills but probably not secure one itself. My original tuition raised slightly as well, all this place seems to be is a quick money school and I really, really wish I did have a better experience with them. I didn't want anything extra, just the mistakes corrected on their part so ill finish my current coarse and never ever do another through them.
I am living proof that this school is legitimate. Ashworth college is accredited by the US and its DETC program is recognized nationally by the US dept. of education. I am have been a law enforcement officer for over 10 years and have moved up the ranks because of ashworth college.
Ashworth College enabled me to secure a job making $12,000 more than I was making in my current job. The course material enabled me to learn a lot about the program and be useful in the workplace. Very usable for my career.
