"Honestly, I would attend another school. Select a school that you will have an opportunity to interface with, while being an online student. A school where policies make sense and are rational regarding grading criteria. I'm stuck here due to my Vre; but this is my first school that I dislike out of 4 universities getting my BS and part MAT"

"It was chaos from the start. I tried to get an correct balance on my account for five months with no response. I register for the fall term and to have hold placed on the account. Their systems always shows that you owe even months after you paid, until the end of the term. It was a night , I had to write the provost and the president to finally get a response. Avoid at all cost"

"I genuinely wish that giving Belhaven University no stars would be an option. I graduated from Belhaven in May of 2020 during the pandemic. Through graduation I was employed by a large church. I decided to continue my degree with Belhaven into a Masters program. I paid every cent of my bachelors on time and I never had an account hold or anything. Due to the PANDEMIC I suffered a job loss TWO weeks into my first and only class towards my Masters degree. It was literally only the Intro to Masters Program Class. I called Belhaven and told them I needed to drop the course due to hardship. NOT because the course was hard or that I had poor time management. I LOST MY JOB DUE TO A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. I’ve continued on the job hunt and finally found a possibly job but I needed my transcript to show I graduated with a high GPA. I went onto Blazenet and saw that I had a financial hold and was unable to access my undergraduate transcript. I called the school and they transferred me to the registrars office who then transferred me to financial aid services. I was told that I could make an appeal with the registrars office. I was transferred back. They told me only the financial aid office would be able to assist. Back and forth we went for over an hour until they finally put a ticket in for my request. I was anxious because I have a job on the line. Fast forward to the next day - not a soul has called me back. I call and I am told by financial services that there isn’t anything they can do. The total was over $1000. I asked if I could make a payment plan and put something down then to access my transcript they refused - I was told I needed to pay the full amount FROM A MASTERS CLASS TO ACCESS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DEGREES TRANSCRIPT. A CLASS I TOOK FOR TWO DAYS AND HAD TO DROP DUE TO A GLOBAL PANDEMIC JOB LOSS. I explained that I did not have a job and needed my transcript to get a job in order to pay the full amount. I didn’t even need the official the unofficial would do just fine. They refused and told me there was nothing they could do to hardship assist me. I was crying and begging for them to help me. Finding a job in the pandemic has been hard enough but adding this hurdle financially was paralyzing. They couldn’t have cared less. As a Christian University I am unbelievably disappointed with the lack of compassion that was shown. I am appalled at the lack of professionalism. I would have loved to continue my Masters at Belhaven but honestly I refuse to contribute anymore money to a University that cares more about a financial situation than the well-being and success of their students."

"I attended the school's online courses and traditional classes in Houston, TX. The classes were great. The office staff for student accounts is HORRIBLE. These people literally set me up for failure. I received a letter stating that I had an outstanding balance. I did my due diligence...I called and left SEVERAL voicemails to contact me so that I could resolve the issue. They never returned my call. Finally, was able to reach someone... NATASHA. She was not helpful. She said that I had an outstanding balance from a few years ago where I had to withdraw from school. No problem can we setup a payment plan? No ma'am you have to pay today or your account will be forwarded to collections, she says. Wow! I'm TRYING to resolve this issue and I'm treated this way. Smh! I then ask to speak to her supervisor so that I can try to work out a payment plan. She said, we don't have a supervisor right now, we only have an interim supervisor, Jessica Sumrall. She transferred me after a LONG hold only for me to get a lady claiming to be her secretary. She took a message and said she'd get it to her. After a couple days I called back..voicemail. Guess what? It's on my credit report!!!!!! Christian values? This is HORRIBLE! PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN CHOOSING YOUR SCHOOLING."

"This school is very religious. I would compare their classes to being at church. However, with that being said, this school is amazing. I love the staff. I love the work. I have been enrolled at Belhaven since 2016. I would have never accomplished as much as I have if I had been at any other school. Give this school a chance if you are considering it. The staff is great and you feel loved and welcomed. Each professor is there to help you and assist you in whatever you have questions over."

"Inconsiderate is one word that I would use to describe everyone that makes up the education department. To be a Christian university, no one seems to be Christ-like. They also claim their programs are good for working people. Lies! I wouldnt recommend anyone to go here."

"One of the good things about Belhaven was the 5-week class terms, which allowed you to get through with a class very quickly. Another plus is that they include the books with your tuition, so there is never an expensive textbook to buy. There are group projects for most classes, and some people did not like this while others did. One thing that I never see mentioned on reviews is their Christian worldview curriculum. When I enrolled, I assumed they were like most other schools with a religious affiliation, meaning it would be no big deal. However, I must warn everyone that if you are not comfortable being very outwardly religious, this might not be the school for you. All of the papers you will write have a very personal religious theme. This applies to absolutely every class, not just the religion classes you are required to take. They have a class on Microsoft Excel called business computer applications, and you literally have to write a paper explaining how Microsoft Excel applies to religion. In the math classes, you have to explain how mathematical concepts apply to the Bible. You really have to be creative and do some stretching to work with assignments like this. If you do not want to talk about your personal religious experience, you might be very uncomfortable at Belhaven. I knew several people who felt this way and had to withdraw. I feel that this aspect of the program should have been more publicized before enrolling."

"I started Belhaven back in 2014. I gradated with a bachelors in applied psychology. I really enjoyed my time at Belhaven. I have attend online and the adult studies. The adult studies program you meet one night a week from 6pm-10pm and the classes are 6 weeks. Online consist of two discussion questions, reading, quiz and a paper. They will let you view the module before hand. I am going back for a MBA. Belhaven is a priviate christian university and it feels like bible study and lecture all in one. The instructors are great and understanding if you communicate with them. I would recommend Belhaven."

"Awful program. I enrolled here to get certified as a teacher. The online program was awful. We received teachers that rarely responded to our emails and when she did, her response was, "Make sure you read the instructions clearly." Just not helpful at all. Oh She also did not grade my work for finals and gave me an F. Sounds crazy right? I sent the administration proof that I turned in my work ON TIME and they still put me on academic suspension... NOT PROBATION, but SUSPENSION...IN MY FIRST YEAR. They completely covered for her and totally disregarded me as a human being. I'll never recommend this school."

"Belhaven University offered a wonderful environment for proper education and overall academic success. The instructors and administration were always more than willing to assist with any questions that I had. Even though my husband and I were expecting (and were not traditional students), we were made to feel welcomed and supported throughout our entire time at Belhaven."

"This was my second master's degree. I felt that an MBA would further help further my career and it did. I really like being part of a cohort, and this college is perfectty suited for that modality. We met once weekly as a class, and then with our team to complete projects. It took two years, as expected. The instructors are all adjuncts, but this is nothing new. Most colleges operate using adjunct instructors. They were mostly good instructors, working in fields that directly related to the courses they taught. This is a private college and as such the cost was high."

"Belhaven University has a great advantage over colleges/universities in the surrounding area because instructors bring and keep God's word prominent in the classroom. When you can go to class with a heavy spirit and have an instructor take out time to pray with you, that's Powerful!"

"I believe that I received a quality education and given the chance to repeat the past, I would have made the same decision in choosing Belhaven University. As a recent MBA graduate, I wish that I had more opportunities for on campus employment during and after completing my degree. I also believe an alumni network for students like myself would be beneficial to the university as it would serve as a launching pad to connect with and support recent graduates and employed professionals. In my opinion, this idea would help ease the transition from full time student to hopefully, full time employee. Once a student is employed in this type of capacity, they are more likely to avidly support the university with alumni funding."
