Degree: Educational Leadership

Bellevue University is a great institution that encourages its students to make a positive impact in society. My degree in leadership serves me well as a retiree and the Kirkpatrick series highlights the importance of active citizenship in a rapidly changing world.

I am currently in the Master's program, slated to graduate in June. So far, the classes have been challenging and geared towards real-world application. In a Master's class, you won't necessarily be 'taught', the professors will push you to seek your own knowledge and apply it to the situation at hand. This is a higher level of learning. I plan on becoming a professor, and from this experience, I would love to be an online professor. It's a challenge to teach on-line classes, and still engage with... Read More

Degree: Healthcare Management

I attended this university and I am very appreciative of my education. My previous credits transferred in nicely. As far as my classes go, it was a requirement of my degree to be currently working in healthcare. In my particular degree, they were able to give me topics in each of my classes that I had to relate to my particular experiences in my job. This helped me work through real life situations that I would encounter. The feedback received from these papers, I truly believe, gave me better insight... Read More

After attending Bellevue University for four years, I find that my educational experience was top notch! For an online course of study, I felt that each and every professor engaged appropriately with not only the class as a whole, but with me, on an academic, professional, and personal level. I felt "challenged" in most, if not all of my course track. To this day, I have a closet full of research articles, class assignments, research papers, etc., which I printed out along the way. Countless hours... Read More

Degree: Criminal Justice

I'm not sure what to make of the negative comments here since my experience was excellent. At the time I enrolled in Bellevue I had recently retired from law enforcement due to an on the job injury after 17 years of service. At age 40, I only had an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and was academically unprepared to enter the corporate world. I was very nervous about re-entering the college environment because it had been so long for me since I attended a college class. I remember when I received... Read More

Someone is trying to create a personal campaign against the university. Remember everyone can post here and this information is not verified. So, one person can write over different names. This school is considered in top 20 to offer online education. The quality of the personnel, financial, academic, technical advisors is excellent. THE DEGREE IS HIGHLY RECOGNIZED FOR ANY EMPLOYER. I have got a lot of opportunities to work. The professors provide exceptional feedback, and every detail is well-done... Read More

In looking at some of the reviews, please use some discernment before making any judgments on this school. 1. Online learning is different from traditional education. You get out what you put into it. 2. Yes, people can steal work. No different than any other group setting, it's on if you don't advocate for yourself for what is right. 3. School, life, and work are all hard. 4. Education is not a panacea for finding a decent job. It's merely another tool. Nothing is for certain; your success is up... Read More

As an active duty military member and a single mom of 3 going back to school was hard. Bellevue University's online program made achieving my bachelors degree possible. With their flexible classes and semesters I was able to obtain a quality education on my own time. The professors were knowledgeable and helpful when you needed assistance. The financial aid office was helpful with using military tuition assistance and Stafford loans to cover what military tuition assistance didn't. I'm looking forward... Read More

I completed my Bachelor's degree with Bellevue and felt that the in class version was beneficial to me. I attended the online course for my Master's and felt it was extremely lacking. There is absolutely no instruction, peers are allowed to steal others work with no consequences (no matter how frequently this is reported), and grading is not based on the actual work being done. I have documented "discussions" where the "professor" is indicating that she is confused by the assignment or the direction... Read More

Outstanding! Not a fly by night program...I learned a lot from this rigorous program. I went to Texas AM and University of Nebraska, and this program was much more inline with real world education. This is not an easy program and if you decide to pursue a degree here in person or online be ready to work hard and learn everything you can!

This is not a good school at all. You will not get a job after you graduate except that you major in BS computer but their master degree in computer is not good. Do not waist your time taking classes at Bellevue , go to UNO or UNL if you are in Nebraska. Bellevue University won't offer you internship if you Black.

I'm very concerned that my degree from this school is not viewed by employers as one that matters. I've been told that a degree from here is like a high school diploma... everyone can get one. :( My experience is that the school has a ton of turn over. Faculty and advisors just seem to leave the University all the time. No one stays. This is weird and my friends say this isn't normal. There is something going on with this school that isn't right. I don't know what it is, but I recommend looking for... Read More

I am very satisfied with education I receive at Bellevue University. Attending Bellevue University was an excellent experience in every way. I would highly recommend Bellevue for any student in need of an excellent online bachelors degree program, especially in computer science or technology. When choosing an online program you want a school that is honest, affordable, and provides an education that is relevant in your field of study. Online Degree Program (never took classes in person) Instructors have you teach yourself by reading your text book. You have "discussions" with your peers via forums each week. They are not helpful and force classmates to come up with "substantial " comments regarding your post. It's awkward because once a person addresses the topic, there's usually very little left to say. The online format is not user friendly. The interface is like using something from the 90's. You only "learn" what you retain... Read More

I'm in the process of collecting complaints specific to Bellevue University located in Bellevue, Nebraska. Complaints specific to bait and switch and or predatory practices. I enrolled in a program that turned out to be nothing specific to what I was seeking. After being assigned to multiple 'Coaches' to address this problem, only to be referred to the other folks giving me lip service, I dropped from the program and I am pursuing litigation (Collective Class Action) at this time. I enrolled to Bellevue University only because I wanted to get my Bachelor Degree as quick as possible. Before the enrollment my advisor sent me an unofficial evaluation which required me to complete 49 credits to get my degree. After a month of my enrollment my advisor asked me to chek my official evaluation on the schools website. My 49 credits was now 78 credits plus i was required to take... Read More

Communication is almost non existent at this school. You are assigned an advisor who will likely not return your calls or emails. The "professors" have very little to no real life experience and therefore you spend your time reading text, participating in half hearted "discussions" which are actually responses to another student's post in a forum. Thankfully, I had over 10 years of real life experience in this field before I began taking classes at Bellevue as I literally learned nothing. My classmates... Read More

Degree: Educational Leadership

I enjoyed my time at Bellevue a great deal. I had good instructors; but as with any school, some will be more engaging than others. I thought the level of expectation was appropriate for graduate level work, and the tuition to be reasonable. I'm not certain that the program does a great job of preparing the student for a career in coaching, but the leadership theory was excellent.

I attended the college and obtained an MS in Security Management. It was to most challenging program I had ever experienced. The workload was a lot but it challenged me and I learned a great deal about a field I had been in for over 15 years. Everyone I come into contact with in the Faculty and staff were extremely helpful. Since graduating I received and took a position as a VP of Security and have been in the position for almost 4 years. This was the greatest investment I made in my future.
