"College is a great time to explore academics interests, mature, and to build the skills you will need for the rest of your life. At the same time, there is still a lot of learning to be done after graduation and you can always change your path post graduation. College is an important time, but it is not the MOST important time."

"It was a good experience but I wish I had done more research and introspection into how well the program fit what I was looking for before I enrolled."

  • Degree: Criminal Justice
"After reviewing a number of universities that offered Master's degrees in Criminal Justice (CJ), I selected Boston University - Metropolitan College. My reasons were many: 1) The recruiters were extremely helpful, and provided answers to all questions I had. They were extremely enthusiastic and encouraging. 2) Review of the available video testimonials from graduate students in the CJ program were very convincing of the many benefits of doing a Master's in CJ at BU. 3) The administrative people were extraordinarily helpful, and informative in not only answering my questions, but stepping me through the admissions process. 4) Throughout the program, all faculty members went above and beyond in assisting students through the 10 courses. 5) Regular contact with other students throughout the degree proved beneficial, in learning more about specific course materials that went above and beyond course content. All in all, a great experience. I highly recommend Boston University for anyone considering an online degree in Criminal Justice."

"Its a great school in a great city. It gives you access to a big city while also giving you the feeling of community. When you specialize at the higher degrees, the program and the number of students is smaller so the community is really emphasized."

"The graduate school is very disconnected from undergrad experience , We pay more and don't get as many opportunities"

"We were taught a lot of theory, background and analysis skills rather than practical intervention skills... Which meant I had to learn a lot on the job. But I did have the necessary foundation to become a really confident professional and I owe that to my great professors and classes at BU."

"So far, my experience in the Boston University graduate program has been nothing but positive. From great instruction to applicable examples of real life business decisions, I've found the coursework to be engaging and thought provoking. I also appreciate that courses are given in the classroom and not online for the part-time program."

"I have only taken one class at BU SPH School but I already know that I am going to leave this chapter of my life with exceptional knowledge that I could not have gotten anywhere else. Just by knowing that the staff at BU SPH is by my side, willing to help me with anything I need is enough to keep me coming back for more advice, and help to complete my classes. I believe in the philosophy that you can make Lemonade with Lemon. I wish I would have known how committed BU faculty was when I was applying to undergrad because I would have for sure applied even if they did not grant me a scholarship."

"This is an excellent school. It fully prepared me and assisted me in finding a job soon after graduation. While there, I was surrounded by dedicated staff that helped me grow. The curriculum was challenging, but I always came out of classes feeling I had learned important content and material. The school itself is expanding. They are constantly building and improving the campus... not just during parent weekend! The school also has a strong international presence in its student body, as well as many study abroad options. Very happy with my time here!"

"Great university with some amazing professors and research opportunities. The university as a whole can be large and overwhelming, but the students, faculty, and staff at Sargent College were incredible and created a supportive community."

"At the time of my enrollment Boston University had a great program for International Affairs students. My professors all had a diverse array of experience and knowledge, which made my learning experience all the richer. I just wish BU invested a little more in its student body. Career Services seemed weak or generally uninterested in pre-graduation advisement and BU seemed to care more about its real estate ventures than spending money on good professors who care about student outcomes and services for students."

  • Degree: Criminal Justice
"I decided to go back to school because I wanted to change careers. I looked into a few online graduate programs for Criminal Justice and eventually decided on Boston University. I was hesitant at first, especially because the person I spoke with about the program and enrollment was not really affiliated with Boston University. I continued to speak to the representative and explore options. Turns out, everything went well. When I attended, the courses were 7-weeks, you took 2 courses per semester, and you were placed into a cohort group and cycled through classes in a predetermined manner. I did not mind this because registration was easy. The courses were taught be actual Boston University faculty and teaching assistants. All of my classes were well structured with clear deadlines and expectations, provided recorded video lectures, audio lectures, and PowerPoint presentations. The professors were responsive and helpful. The support staff around the campus were easy to work with as well. The program went quickly and I really extended myself sometimes while balancing full-time work and full-time personal events. Some classes required a lot of work, but it was manageable, and made me better and managing my personal time."

"Attending Boston University was integral in my ability to teach students well. It is an academic program of high caliber and the professors truly care about their students. The program really prepares students for being in the classroom by introducing them to classrooms from their first year in the program. Students experience all levels of education: elementary, middle, and secondary. The classes focus on preparing curriculum."

"Attending Boston University was an excellent experience. There is truly something for everyone there and first-class facilities. The living and dining options along with post-college resources were second to none. I have never met someone who attended who did not like their experience."

"Pros: academically challenging, invested and supportive faculty, vast network in the Boston area for after graduation and there is a lot of emphasis put on socializing within the program. Cons: very large workload, student body mostly white, cost of living in the area is extremely unaffordable for a graduate student."

"The best faculty around, and while humanities definitely take second place to the sciences here, slowly more resources, facilities, and funding become available. Research is important and technology in the field is strongly supported."

  • Degree: Occupational Therapy
"The Masters in Occupational Therapy program at Boston University is ranked number 2 in the country and lives up to that standard. All staff play important roles within the field of occupational therapy and are able to incorporate real clinical experiences into their teaching. A large number of the staff have held executive positions in prominent OT organizations including AOTA, and have published many works. Thus creating an unbelievable network of connections for post graduation job searches and references. The BU MSOT program is always at the forefront of the career and motivating its students to become leaders of the field."
