"I had a very positive experience at Branford Hall in Southington. Instructors are excellent but have difficulty exercising their authority without being disrespected.Unbalanced cultural student body indicates quotas. You get out what you put into it."

"I hear more negativity that anything here-- I just completed my last semstar and as of October been out on my extership( which i found myself). I believe all the negative comments. I understand and been through what everyone is saying. Lot of drama, attitudes and disrespect. I had a peer disrespect me in class, i had to speak to her i am 20 years her senior and needed to put this smartass in place since the teachers ignore this nonsense there. I had nice peers who minded their own business drop out and leave because no one would do anything about some of these people. I have even spoke to director myself and nothing done. Also, there was a peer who would with others smoke pot almost every break and lunch. Unorganized!!!!! I still cannot get an answer on when is graduation date???no answer they never know. I dont even know if this is a degree or a certificate no one explains clearly anything there. we are all confused and wish we knew answers to all of our many questions."

"Everybody in this forum has nothing but bad things to say about this school. First of all the school DOES NOT promise you a job. I specifically remember signing a form in the beginning that says that. It's all about if you want to learn. A lot of people in the school act immature don't do there assignments and misses class. It's like people expect to succeed and don't want to put in any effort. I love all the teachers and administration of course no school is perfect and there are times where thing don't run right, like an instructor maybe absent, you may not get your uniforms right away, but the administration is doing there best. Just pay attention do your work, read your textbooks and learn as much as you can. If you do your best you may be able to make this a career but if you don't put in any effort. Your not going to get the outcome your looking for. I'm in my 3rd module with a 4.0 average and I love my school. -amityvile,campus"

"Referring to southington Branford hall. Instructors are amazing, they actually care if you learn. financial aid is good, administrators=annoying, and career services (Jen and Evelyn) are the rudest, and most self absorbed people in the whole school. They're all about numbers, so don't think they actually care about you or your career."

"I decided to write this review because I almost decide against going to Branford Hall, Bohemia seeing so many bad reviews. Right now I'm on my third month in the MA program (8 mo. program) and so far I have no complaints. My teachers are excellent and even my classmates are great people which makes the class more enjoyable. It it a fast-paced environment because the program is short but I'm learning a lot. Perhaps is still too early to tell but I haven't seen any drama yet. No drunk, drugged people and no fights. My complaint is regarding the facility itself. The toilet seats in the ladies bathroom need replacement. My other complaint is that the program leads to a RMA certification but not to a CMA. If being a CMA is important to you, you will need to check if your campus offers that certification. Tuition includes books, uniforms, shoes, stethoscope and blood pressure monitor."

"This review is about the Southington campus for Medical Assistant. This school sucks, worst school ever I wish I never went in the first place. I don't mind the teachers but I didn't care for a couple of them. I started my externship in July 2013 and finished in September 2013 and had my official graduation ceremony in December. Since I finished my externship site in Sept 2013 I have not had a job offer I applied to many positions in the medical field and even the hospitals that always seem to hire and not one offer. The career services department director Jen Llorens don't count on her because she will only send the resume out here and there ever so often. Talk about lazy. Then when you want to talk to her about jobs, etc she will claim she's busy most of the time. Plus a lot of the places that I interviewed with ended up hiring people with experience. It is crap that this school doesn't do/care enough about the students but only cares about the money/profit. Then I have a loan to pay back on top of it. For anyone who wants to think about going to this school DON'T because there are better options out there."

"Amityville is unorganized. The teachers do their best. Im not happy at all we learn but not enough . I dont feel that we get enough hands on practice in clinical areas. As for instance we are almost done with ekg pharmacology and my teacher cannot show us how to inject the injections cause we have no syringes. To practice this is ridiculous. Like I said not organized at all. I am about to drop out and call corporate . I am so tired of the direction this so called director took this school. We have certain students popping pills all day students not following dress code and more...cheating on tests and nothing gets done. Ridiculous I tell you. To be continued. ..."

"After being out of school for 35 years, at 52 yrs old I decided to go back to school. I chose Branford Hall because I had heard positive feedback from friends in the medical field. I began with some doubt and timidity wondering of I could keep up with the younger generation. I have to say, each teacher was an inspiration. There was plenty of encouragement from the staff am even my fellow classmates. I am proud to be among such bright young people with a desire to succeed. I am excited to say, I have exceeded my own expectations here at Branford Hall. I have maintained a 4.0 and also hold a perfect attendance. Each day there is so much information given, I don't want to miss out on it! I will graduate in 6 weeks. It wasn't easy and it takes hard work and sacrifice, Branford Hall is a great place for new beginnings."

"This is for the southington campus, The instructors are great! mostly all are willing to stay after school and tutor they even alow past students to come in during classes and sit thru them. Every Tuesday there is a teacher who stays after school instructing clinical classes. Students here are supposed to only get one week to make up exams and missed classes, one time i owed a test for over 3 weeks and was allowed to still take it wich does happen alot. the teachers want you to pass!! i have never been in a place where the instructors take passion in what they teach and guess what there is a first time for everything! on this review site i read a negative comment on a teacher "Mrs P" this lady is such a perfectionist she expects that you learn what she teaches and does not mind the many times she has to go over it again until you learn it. Student services, every time you no show you would get a courtesy call making sure you are alright and also to discuss your option on making up hours and missed classwork/exams.Financial aid,Here they explain everything how it is, there is no beating around the bush here no confusion and they do give you many options on work study and loan repayment plans. Do Not get influenced by the negative remarks about this school. Career Services went to bat for me!! not only did they teach me how to write my resume but also double checked and proof read it before i sent it out, they were not afraid to give me a good reference despite the fact i wasn't the best student and always had tardy issues in school, Thanks to the career service team i found an externship that became my employment, with the stuff they teach here you will ACE all your certifications its almost like they hand it to you.... I can not express my gratitude with words this is a place of success I am Proof!!!"

"The school staff is horrible. The teachers they hire have 0 background in teaching. I had one teacher whose name im just going to call Ms.Pwho was sooo loud and screamed like if we where in elementary. she treated us like babies. She talked about her life waaay too much and told us how much we weed she use to smoke. In the classroom a student smelled like straight weed. In one class the tracher dropped out leaving 20 students high and dry with no teacher. Poor students. The Staff/education department doesnt attend to your needs. They never get back to you even if its very important! There is like only 1 person truly in charge of the education department thats Ridiculous!! You can call 10 times and not get ahold of anyone in the school. Its Horrible. But ask them you want to sign up; and suddenly the appear. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL. listen to me! If only i had listened to other reviews before signing up. biggest regret!!"

"They only want your money from the day you walk in the door to sit down and speak to them about the program. They wont let you leave unless you sign up. They screw up your financial aid and I had to pay $650 out of pocket because of it and wont get my diploma or offical transcript until its paid in full! They lost a entire month of externship time sheets and claimed they were never faxed over when I had proof they were good thing I saved all of my time sheets so I did not have to redo 64 hours but they said I was missing 15 min and have to drive a half hour to my site to make up 15 min the drive a half hour home! the school bathrooms are disgusting! Some of the teachers are good and want to be there and teach and help you learn and then others are just worried about a pay check and dont care about teach you correctly or want to be in class. My ekg teacher did not teach us anything quit towards the end of our class before she got fired and they school would not let us retake the class and passed us all. They did have another teacher come into our medical admin class and 1-2x a week to give us a crash course on ekg. The staff changes so frequently and no one every knows what is going on. Some of the teachers basically give you the whole test in a review with all the question and answers before you take the test. They tell you that you will make all this money when you get a job and the truth is you dont. from day 1 this school has been nothing but problems. Dont attend !"
