Capella University Reviews - Bachelor's inSee reviews of all programs at Capella University
Capella University Guided path was just what I needed. I was 45 years of age when I decided to go back and get a degree and with a busy full time job and full time parenting, I was a little worried on how I could get a degree during everything else. The school advisors walked me through the first year of how to set up courses and determined what was best for me to teach me how to plan out my future success. It was a huge help. With Capella's writing assessments, it meant I didn't have to sit and cram for an exam, so it speak, or memorize unnecessary works. I simply had to take what I have learned and write a specific topic to complete a course. Oh! and the courses are designed with the adult learner in mind. Everything about this school has led to my success, not just as a student, but in my career.
I was a transfer student from a New York State university and most of my credits were transferable. I chose the FlexPath Program which would allow me to complete my degree program faster. I completed the program in 20 months and then went on to pursue my Master of Science Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. The Capella FlexPath program allows me to take as many courses as I can complete in a 12 week billing session. It did take some getting used to as all of my previous on-line courses required classroom discussions, completion of only one module at at time and I had to wait until the next semester to take other courses. FlexPath allowed me to complete the courses as my own pace and some courses were completed in only 6-8 weeks as I did not need all 12 weeks. As soon as a course was completed, I just clicked a button indicating the course was completed and within just a few short hours, my next course was ready to go. Capella offers all the tools necessary for one to succeed in their academic journey as they provide a FlexPath coach, tutor for each course, and a knowledgeable faculty. The faculty gave very useful feedback on each assessment which helped me better understand the competencies for each course. I'm an older student who decided to go back to college many years after high school graduation and I must say, with my degree, I was able to get a state government job within weeks of completing my Bachelor of Science in General Psychology through the Capella FlexPath program. I highly recommend Capella University's FlexPath program to anyone wanting to complete their degree by actually understanding what they are learning and given the opportunity to apply that knowledge in their day-to-day lives as well as employment.
Before enrolling at Capella University, my vision was frosted. I did not know where to start or how to start but I started. Capella helped with everything from financial assistance to advising. Since then, I own 2 companies, one of which is a consulting firm, Ezra Blaze Consulting Firm, LLC North Charleston, South Carolina, and Entebbe, Uganda and GonZaga International Company, Ltd., Headquartered in Entebbe, Uganda. In addition, I started my studies in Spring 2011 and graduated Fall 2018, I do not believe I would have been able to accomplish what I have accomplished without Capella and its support staff. The classes were relevant to my goals and I am still able to use the resources that were introduced by Capella in my business today. To anyone that is thinking of attending Capella University, I say go for it. All the best!
I was enrolled in the FlexPath Program at Capella and it was the best decision I have ever made in my life. This program allows you to have almost all the control over the pace you complete the courses. During my time at Capella, I have learned a plethora of information that will help me become successful in the business world. If you are considering attending Capella, I strongly suggest you do. The staff is very helpful and the professors grade fairly. I enjoyed my time as an undergrad student at Capella.
I have been an ADN for many years and thought it was time to go back to school. I enrolled in the FlexPath courses for RN-BSN program. Wow, what a great experience. The courses were relevant to my practice, evidence based and required me to use current research. It was interesting to see how the world of nursing has evolved of the years and the courses here made me dig deep and question what I already knew. It wasn't easy to go back to school and it took a lot of will power to stay on track. The courses were not easy, but not too difficult either. The staff at Capella were always there to help if needed and typically took care of any question or concern on the first call. I was impressed and recommend the program to all who want to go back to school, but they would like to do it on their time.
Applying to Capella University was the best decision I made in 2017. I am a Part Time Learner and the flexibility of the glasses, and the content is very easy to follow and the concepts have all helped with my career to include career advancement. I'm a future graduate.
Needed to finish my undergrad and wouldnt have been admitted to traditional programs due to poor academics from the inital college experience. Employer also offered discounts for Capella so applied and was accepted. For those that are in the same situation and need a BA/BS, schools like Capella are the only viable option even if they arent seen as real schools. Courses are what you make of them. For someone who enjoys writing, they were very easy. Not sure if it was just my instructors but grading seemed less than critical. In courses where we shared assignments, I was a bit aghast by how poorly written assignments were yet assumed they were graded well regardless. Had one extremely poor instructor and luckily dropped their course. For the most part their instructors seem to be engaged with teaching but like everything, there can be a bad apple in the bunch. The only real negative I can think of is that the school does not take plagiarism seriously. Small infractions are not seen as an issue so someone plagiarizing a paragraph from another students paper isnt going to turn heads.
I had a wonderful time in the FlexPath program. After struggling for many years I was finally able to complete my BS. And, with the flexibility of FlexPath I completed 57 credits in three months. The instructors, coach, tutors, and enrollment counselor were all extremely helpful and responsive. In March of 2018 I walked in my commencement (a first for me because I opted to get a GED when I was younger). I'm so happy with this school and FlexPath that I'm now enrolled to start in the MBA program.
I used the Flex Path and was very pleased with the flexibility of the courses. I used the tutoring service and the coaching staff. With each class the work was more challenging but there was help if I needed it. I would reccomend Capella University and the Flex Path Program. Its great for the student that works and wants to further their education.
I am currently enrolled with this school and have been attending since January 2017. Since starting at Capella I have many stumbling blocks that have caused me to drop or fail a few classes. Each and every time I have stumbled, Capella has picked me up, dusted me off and sent me right back down the right path. As a working nurse with 40+ hours spent at my office weekly, I would not have been able to attend a local school. Capella make it so easy to continue working and spending time with my family, while still being able to attend classes to further my degree. This is a wonderful school with amazing academic counselors, knowledgeable instructors, a user friendly online format and many choices of academic programs. Thanks Capella for making my career goals achievable!
