"If you decide to ignore this review and enroll at Capella, please record all conversations, request all promises in writing and keep copies of every thing they send you. You Will Need It for the Lawsuit you will have to file later. I went to online learning, after graduating with honors in brick and mortar schools, because of family and job responsibilities. Capella's sales-pitch was too good to be true. Everything was exaggerated and embellished from day one. They get you in very quickly and make it easy to get loans. Course work was easy and completed quickly. Problems started at the Dissertation phase. There was few responses from professors, frequently changed professors most of whom did not have a clue of how to help, or guide a student through the chosen course of study. A student could spent more than 2 years on one Milestone without making progress. Its as if everything was slowed and delayed to keep students stuck as the debt increased. In the end they said I ran out of time. They eliminated the School I started in without notification. The Professors in the new school kept asking me to write and re-write the Dissertation Template. This happened over and over as the new Professor came and left. Eventually, they set-it up to create an Administrative Withdrawal- no degree and a debt of more than $100,000.00. The experience could leave a person bitter and burdened. There are some real evil women there. They play a lot of games with peoples' life."

"I definitely do not recommend this school to anyone who truly wants to graduate. I wasted more than 80,000$ dollars here and have no degree. You will be passed through your classes without issue. However, getting the intensive help needed to complete your dissertation will not be there. Find a university close to home so that you can receive one on one assistance if needed. Do not waste your money here. Its truly heartbreaking."

"This is the worst school on the surface of the planet. All they aim for is get you to cough out your money and once that get the money, they become your Lord. Whatever they tell you you have no recourse. They have no structure to see or track customer service. Their after class survey is a sham. This is a school that has no structure for people to assist you. Horrible customer service over and over again. No one should attend this school. Total waste of money & Time. Research schools before enrolling. Simply googling will give you information on peoples experience especially with CAPELLA UNIVERSITY. Beware of Crooks."

"I think that Capella University is an excellent university. The program that I am currently in has help be learn a great about what is expected of me in my future career. The only thing that I would suggest is a way to help students get jobs associated with their education."

"WARNING! DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL (CAPELLA") ! ENROLL / ATTEND a NOT-FOR-PROFIT (REAL) UNIVERSITY ! CAPELLA UNIVERSITY is a scam, and is BEING SUED (and our aim is to have CAPELLA shut down, forever!), for unethical and unfair business practices, the university and its faculty not adhering to its own graduate degree program students manual (only to keep its students enrolling quarter, after quarter costing its students an excessive amount of tuition), degree program stall tactics, unrealistic and unfair student tuition, false promises, poor communication during active course participation, student loan/government lending fraud, in addition to many other complaints. In fact, we are in touch with a FORMER CAPELLA UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEE who is willing to testify on the dissertation process, whereas the former employee is willing to testify that, CAPELLA UNIVERSITY'S Doctoral Programs are a fraud". FACTS: Capella University was the subject of an Education Department audit, which revealed that the school overcharged lenders and this department by over a half million dollars. Capella University spends an unusually high portion of revenue on marketing and a relatively small amount on instruction (for its exclusively online program). Most instructors are part-time and accreditation could be an issue in the near future. Capella University appears to maintain aggressive enrollment goals for the more than 300 recruiters it employs. Many former students of Capella University have been plagued with high debt to income ratios after taking out student loans from this for-profit university. Capella University was recently questioned for having a high withdrawal rate amongst students in its programs and for spending an unusually high percentage of revenue on marketing. (SOURCE: www.processmystudentloans.com/capella) CAPELLA UNIVERSITY information is cited below, where such websites state, students don't mind a non-APA degree, and also citing that CAPELLA UNIVERSITY states, graduates earn more income upon their graduating from its university - which is false! Additionally to its PhD/PsyD Doctoral Programs, CAPELLA UNIVERSITY graduates cannot even practice clinical psychology, as its psychology doctoral programs are also not recognized by the APA in many, if any states a requirement of course, necessary for a graduate to permit a graduate to earn state board-certification or ability to practice psychology same issue as stated here within regarding Argosy University (a lawsuit Argosy University lost). Below, I quote, from THE STATE OF MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION (state dept official representatives), after their having received MANY complaints, from MANY students, with one representative from the DEPARTMENT even stating, "students arguments have merit", and stating, "CAPELLA IS NOT AN ETHICAL UNIVERSITY, BECAUSE ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY". JOIN "our" (70+ learners - as of 06.2017) Legal Pursuit / Justice against CAPELLA UNIVERSITY, for: Unethical and unfair business practices, the university and its faculty not adhering to its own graduate degree program students manual (only to keep its students enrolling quarter, after quarter costing its students an excessive amount of tuition), degree program stall tactics, unrealistic and unfair student tuition, false promises, poor communication during active course participation, student loan/government lending fraud, in addition to many other complaints. In fact, we also have a Learner in our group who is aware of an 'expert witness' willing to testify on the dissertation process, and such former Learner is aware of a former CAPELLA UNIVERSITY employee willing to testify that, CAPELLA UNIVERSITY'S Doctoral Programs are a fraud". CAPELLA is being sued for: 1.) Conversion; 2.) Breach of Contract; 3.) Interference With Contractual Relations; 4.) Breach of the Implied Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing; and 5.) Unjust Enrichment. Student complaints indicate dissatisfaction with the instructional quality at Capella. In a letter to the President of Capella from HLC, the companys accreditor expresses concern regarding academic quality: [This students] letter is troubling in light of two other recent complaints... These complaints, taken as a group, suggest dissatisfaction on the part of at least some graduate students with the quality of the interaction they have had in the institutions core academic programs and an unwillingness on the part of the institution to review and respond to the potential customer service issues these complaints suggest. "Capella offers a great program and offers blended learning through research, interacting in groups and in the classroom with other students. This structure challenges your thinking and knowledge and opens up a whole new world of deep and analytical thinking. It also allows students the flexibility needed, particularly for those who work and are also earning their degree."

"Not every online University is incompetent; certainly, I know that Capella is very competent. It is also worth noting that an online university is not for everyone. For one thing, one has to be effective with using technology, secondly, one has to be time conscious and discipline, third, one has to be a fast learner. These are important criteria needed to succeed in an online environment. I will admit that every university has its pros and cons. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. There have been times when I felt frustrated with certain activity at Capella, but, as mentioned, every student will experience such even in traditional universities. It is also important to note that the fundamental reason(s) for every university is to make money and hopefully providing quality education. Capella University is providing quality education and in my opinion, I believe that Capella University is one of the best online University out there."

"I am proud of my accomplishment of completing a Doctorate degree. It has been a year since completion and I still do not have a job. I reached out to career services but they do not assist with actual job placement which would be an enhancement of the Capella experience."

"The three and half years I studied at Capella University were some of the most informative years in my academic career. I was already an established and busy surgeon in my country, but I felt I needed that extra challenge to add a PhD to my medical qualifications. It was not easy spending those nights working on the weekly course assignments, but it was all worth the effort. I fully enjoyed the structured online course work offered at Capella. Since, graduation I have published not less than six papers adapted from my course projects in per reviewed journal sometimes in collaboration with former course instructors. I would recommend this university only to serious graduate students who are ready to work hard and complete on time. Otherwise you could get frustrated and end up blaming the university for your shortcomings. Online courses are in fact be more demanding than full time college studies."
