Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2019

When you get to dissertation there are costly Capella delays and excuses with no recourse. It costs students money and time. Advisors are not supportive. Teachers are knowledgeable but cannot push your work through so students end up spending more money.

If you are smart and determined ignore these crazy reviewers. I am in the flexpath program and am leaving a review because it seems most of the reviewers here either were pathetic in there attempts at higher education or simply lying. My fafsa pays for 2/3 of the cost. I started last February with less than 20 credits and will be done by this summer with 160 credits. Flexpath allows you to take 2 courses at a time although I'm usually only in one. I use the second slot as an option from time to time. I have had zero trouble with anyone within the advising community. If you feel like you will need a tutor than don't pick this school because it is the one area that they are legitimately terrible. I am in numerous facebook communities that all testify to how much the appreciate the school, minus the tutors. I will have spent less than 10k in the end and already have job opportunities that will make up the difference in no time. Of course you will be frustrated but treat your education like its a 9-5 and this university can take you from 28 year old with no skills to your entry into a career field in less than 2 years.. I just wanted to say that because I appreciate what the school has done for my life.

Degree: MBA in Public Administration
Graduation Year: 2019

I highly rated Capella. The process and ease of the on line learning system is stellar. The program Master of Public Administration had viable courses that helped in my career. The professors were very knowledgeable and come from relevant careers matching the courses. You can choose your focus point with in each class making the experience unique to you. The more you put into the program the more you get out of it. It is flexible for working folks which is a huge plus. I highly recommend this school.

Capella University is simply amazing! When I first began this journey in January 2017 I had no idea what I would experience. Being in a professional senior level management job means I have a lot of pressure during my daily activities and I had no idea how I would balance my family, career and college all while my wife was completing a doctorate. Yet, with the great addition of the Sophia courses I was able to get in and jump right into the degree program. Once I had completed just about all of the Sophia courses I could, I began to inquire about FlexPath. FlexPath is really incredible! Paying just one fee for a 12 week cycle and being able to complete as many classes as I could in that time really helped me get to the finish line much quicker than I ever imagined. Every night when my family went to bed I went into the basement and would work until I could not stay up any longer and just cranked out the papers. This was a daunting task but I finished in literally no time at all! The instructors were quick to grade the papers and very often with just one attempt I would exceed the expectations and would be ready to move on to the next assessment. The navigation of courses was so easy as the plan would show me the upcoming classes and would allow me to make changes as needed. I don't know why anyone would go anywhere else for college!! Capella University is simply the all around best experience from all the supportive staff to the flexibility and ease of navigation this school has it all. I really cannot wait to begin my MBA program through Capella in less that a month!

Degree: Health Psychology
Graduation Year: 2003

As a tenured full professor, this degree served me well and I had a great experience. The faculty were great and library services excellent. You have to be able to write well and I was already a published author. This did culture me to write and I have since had over 50 publications and two text books. The psychology school has a few higher expectations so it is important to say I can't speak for the rest of the university.

Degree: Healthcare Informatics
Graduation Year: 2019

My time with Capella has been nothing but great. The progression of the courses and its content was relevant and effective. I particularly liked one course where we were asked to do and record a powerpoint presentation together with a paper. It was definitely training for the real world. Online classes work best for students who are self-directed and motivated to do the coursework correctly and on time. I am 2 courses away from graduating and my facilitators are providing feedback on content and APA. This is helpful as i prepare for my capstone.

Degree: Psychology, General
Graduation Year: 2015

Capella University performed a formidable job recruiting me and promising a PhD in General Psychology within two years. Furthermore, they did an excellent job exhausting more than $100,000.00 of my Student Loans and in the end, using the excuse that I did not pass a Comprehensive Exam that they encouraged me to enroll three times to retake, they performed an Administrative Withdrawal. Within the four years spent at Capella, my doctoral level performance seemed superior, until I reached the COMPS-DISSERTATION phase. In the end, after thorough investigation, I, along 53 other learners in similar situation, discovered that during those years, prior to 2013, they did not meet the requirements to offer a PhD in Psychology nor did they have the appropriate statues in place, according to the Minnesota Higher Education Affairs. In all, Capella University is a scam and they certainly are the best in utilizing a switch and bait system to entertain you, and in the end withdraw you, making you feel like a failure, most certainly leaving you with thousands in student loan debt and without a degree.

Degree: Higher Education
Graduation Year: 2013

Terrible doctorate support. Careless counselors and committee members. Over 100k in tuition and a very negative experience. I have known at least 55 doctorate students in similar situation and experience. I had to completed doctorate degree in another university that did support students!

Degree: Organizational Leadership
Graduation Year: 2050

This University may be receiving business awards but it is a for-profit university that has stockholders. They are great at making profits for the stockholders. From 2002-2015,Capella's interest was not in protecting their PhD students but was instead focused to making profits for this Ed. Company. They took those PhD Public Service Leadership General Human Services PhD students and circulated them within the system for years while all the other Cap. University schools PhD students were corralled and waiting----then with extensive debts Capella gave some of them Masters degrees instead. Those PSL PhD Students developed the faculty training template at this wholly on line school for 2 years then they were often removed....many with $200,000 debts and no degree. Beware is all I can say. Somehow, I lived through this experience but it was not a good one. Find a public or non profit University.

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2019

Horrible school. I was kicked out of classes due to their websites lack of functionality. After 5 calls to tech support, the issue was not resolved, and I am no longer admitted to my class this semester. No one would work with me to resolve the issue. The people are unprofessional across the board.
