"This college screwed me big time. I've been working on getting my financial aid awarded for over 5 Months and so far all they do is ask for the exact same information in a different format. It is absolutely ridiculous. I finally asked for a manager as I was about to be dropped from spring semester and they said everything was taken care of and my award would be there soon and instead they asked for more info and dropped me anyway. I will not be finishing my degree with this school and I recommend no one ever attend."

"I rate as excellent! I thought very much a challenge and appreciated the readings and writing assignments. What was amazing was how the assignments ended up often supportive of my future dissertation writing. Being a full-time teacher there were times I had to put dissertation writing on hold for a fewweeks and my mentor was very supportive. I did not use financial services and wrote personal checks. It was worth giving up a few vacations and reastaurant visits to avoid student loans. I miss the classes and writing challenges."

"At first I thought this would be a great place to earn my PhD, and at first it was. However towards the end, I realized this school is truly a profit oriented center, with little to no regard for the studentas long as they got their money. Don't waste your time and more importantly your money on this school, there are far better schools out there even those that are profit centers."

"This University is a place that I would think several times before enrolling. Experience with classes and learning process are not bad overall. I just wish some Instructors was more communicative. When in come to leaving comments for completed paper work - it is never there. Interesting. Degree program is good overall. What about financial part - I can write a novel about this part. Pricing students for classes that much and DO NOT EVEN PROVIDING PAYMENT PLANS?! This is bad. I tried to set up payment plan since the beginning, but it is always saying I am on the hold for something and that is why I cant set up payment plan. It ended up with Capella staff dropped me off from courses. This is so uncomfortable and don't worth it at all. Every-time I talked to financial aid department - there is no straight answer. In any way there is a lot wrong with this institution, starting from unprofessional staff and finish with instructors who do not communicate with you."

"The people at Capella University or so unhelpful. They expect you to give up a full-time job that you rely on to support your family in order to complete the non-negotiable 20 hours a week that is unpaid to complete the practicum hours. They are not even willing to allow students to extend the time of the practicum for students who have severe financial constraints that forces them to keep their full-time job even if it means them dropping out of the program. BUYER BEWARE!!!!"

Not a bad school, just has problematic instructors - 3/17/2019

"I just completed my last course yesterday, and for the most part, I have enjoyed Capella. I only have three complaints; neither are completely the fault of Capella, but being that these people are on payroll, it is what it is. Firstly, I absolutely loved the advisor that I had when I first started at Capella. She made sure to keep in touch and always gave nurturing and sound advice. Unfortunately, she took a different position and I was stuck with a different advisor who reached out twice: once to introduce herself and the second time was to congratulate me on applying for graduation (lol). This isn't that serious, but her job title is advise. Secondly, I had one instructor that decided that I was plagiarizing out of nowhere. Week 8 of 10, she pings me for saying my work was copied yet I was receiving A's on assignments and "great job", but all of a sudden I am plagiarizing?! I honestly don't know what brought this on, but I kindly let her know that she had to be joking with me. I am an educator and have a B.S. I have been through college and I grade the work of other students. I am the last person anyone should have to worry about committing plagiarism. Anyways, she was adamant that I was cheating, expected me to redo all the work, and at 8.5 months pregnant I told her no and that I'd just have to fail. I redid the course (using the same work) and passed. Her assumption is still a mystery until this day. Reddit, if you're looking for an unsolved mystery, here you go. Lastly, my final course was fairly good up until literally three days before the course ended. I had s group member that had no earthly idea of how to do the assignment and instead of admitting it and asking for help, she proceeds to become combative and not willing to work with myself and other group members. She stated she wanted to complete the assignment on her own, yet when her wishes were honored, she got extremely upset. By that time, I had already emailed the instructor letting her know what was going on. Instead of the instructor being supportive of our wishes, she proceeds to tell us that we needed to make her work with us or we were all getting points deducted. She also stated that she didn't understand why we were just now saying anything. Again, I taught for years and I personally would rather my GROWN students try to work through their issues first the best they can before coming to me. To add insult to injury, she was warned about this student before, so that made no sense. The instructor then went on to say that she noticed we weren't working on the work for this particular week two weeks in advance. I was confused at that statement. This is a professional certification course catered to working professionals. You cannot honestly expect full- time employees with families and lives to sit and do assignments two weeks in advance. Maybe for some, but not for all. And as a student that always completed quality work and on time, I was a little bothered by her statement. She had no problem shooting out emails when she was unavailable, but expected us to have work done two weeks in advance. Nevertheless, these issues could happen at any school. I enjoyed Capella and would suggest anyone to go. Just watch out for certain instructors."

"When you get to dissertation there are costly Capella delays and excuses with no recourse. It costs students money and time. Advisors are not supportive. Teachers are knowledgeable but cannot push your work through so students end up spending more money."

"If you are smart and determined ignore these crazy reviewers. I am in the flexpath program and am leaving a review because it seems most of the reviewers here either were pathetic in there attempts at higher education or simply lying. My fafsa pays for 2/3 of the cost. I started last February with less than 20 credits and will be done by this summer with 160 credits. Flexpath allows you to take 2 courses at a time although I'm usually only in one. I use the second slot as an option from time to time. I have had zero trouble with anyone within the advising community. If you feel like you will need a tutor than don't pick this school because it is the one area that they are legitimately terrible. I am in numerous facebook communities that all testify to how much the appreciate the school, minus the tutors. I will have spent less than 10k in the end and already have job opportunities that will make up the difference in no time. Of course you will be frustrated but treat your education like its a 9-5 and this university can take you from 28 year old with no skills to your entry into a career field in less than 2 years.. I just wanted to say that because I appreciate what the school has done for my life."

"I highly rated Capella. The process and ease of the on line learning system is stellar. The program Master of Public Administration had viable courses that helped in my career. The professors were very knowledgeable and come from relevant careers matching the courses. You can choose your focus point with in each class making the experience unique to you. The more you put into the program the more you get out of it. It is flexible for working folks which is a huge plus. I highly recommend this school."

"Capella University is simply amazing! When I first began this journey in January 2017 I had no idea what I would experience. Being in a professional senior level management job means I have a lot of pressure during my daily activities and I had no idea how I would balance my family, career and college all while my wife was completing a doctorate. Yet, with the great addition of the Sophia courses I was able to get in and jump right into the degree program. Once I had completed just about all of the Sophia courses I could, I began to inquire about FlexPath. FlexPath is really incredible! Paying just one fee for a 12 week cycle and being able to complete as many classes as I could in that time really helped me get to the finish line much quicker than I ever imagined. Every night when my family went to bed I went into the basement and would work until I could not stay up any longer and just cranked out the papers. This was a daunting task but I finished in literally no time at all! The instructors were quick to grade the papers and very often with just one attempt I would exceed the expectations and would be ready to move on to the next assessment. The navigation of courses was so easy as the plan would show me the upcoming classes and would allow me to make changes as needed. I don't know why anyone would go anywhere else for college!! Capella University is simply the all around best experience from all the supportive staff to the flexibility and ease of navigation this school has it all. I really cannot wait to begin my MBA program through Capella in less that a month!"
