"I enrolled, initially, in the echo counseling program which was GREAT! However after half way through I free interest in the human service program. This is my 2nd year, overall experience of great. My current and past professors for the most part have be extremely helpful, hands on, understanding and flexible. My schedule accommodated my family time and work schedule. I have been taking 2 course a semester , I even took a couple drmesyets off. The advisors are wonderful the truly help guide throughout your courses. I would recommend Capella"

"Capella has provided me with nothing but an amazing experience. You receive extra support from your academic advisors and enrollment counselor. They will not allow you to put yourself in a situation where you are doing so much work that you begin to stress yourself out. The professors respond to you in a timely manner and make sure you understand your assignments before you move forward with them. This has been one of the best educational experiences I've ever encountered."

"My experience was very positive at Capella. I graduated last yr while working & raising kids. The counselors were helpful. Being pre-registered for each course kept me on track with my academic timeline. Great instructors and always available to help."

"The program is rigorous and requires a lot of time a research. If you are uncertain of your goals I wouldn't recommend approaching an online masters course as the time you need to allot to a successful education will surpass the amount time most people have. I personally found the advisors to be useless and the professors to be the best route for learning more about your career and how to prepare every step."

"Excellent program and I would highly recommend it. Lots of support through professors, librarians and irb staff. This experience has changed my professional career! But it's most definitely not an easy program so be prepared for some hard work and dedication"

Degree: Emergency Management
Graduation Year: 2018
"Capella is all about the money. Your money and Capella getting their hands on it. I blew $140,000 at Capella and have nothing to show for. I had three semesters where I did not even take a class and was made to pay more than $12,000. Once I got into dissertation advisor assistance disappeared. I took many completely irrelevant classes in the emergency management program. Classes that had absolutely nothing to do with emergency management (like a class on aging). The school needs to be shut down. I would love to join a class action lawsuit, however; that will just make a lawyer rich. I would love to testify to Congress about the evils of an online for-profit institution and how they rip students off for federal student loan money. Don't enroll."

"I would NOT recommend this school to ANYONE. I withdrew from classes and they still charged me. They have me a ton of problems with financial aid, problems that I never had with my other university. They will not release my transcripts making it IMPOSSIBLE for me to get into a program elsewhere. Absolutely would not attend here and would not recommend anyone else to. Find a school that actually cares about their students instead of the money."

"I've had the unfortunate experience that I have been reading about. People, please remember that Capella is a for-profit school. I have been given the run around every since I started, from financial aid issues to the correct path. If at all possible, please choose a school that can be accessed by going to an office. It is very difficult to get anything done over the phone or via email. Capella is only interested in making money as all for-profit schools are. I have decided to transfer schools. I wish I had never started at Capella. One class costs 3100.00. Do not be fooled by the 310.00 bone that they throw you for coming to the school. It is not worth it. Many other schools cost half this much. Please do your research. It is very easy to get into this school for a reason. No recommendation letters are required, no background check, not even a telephone interview is required. Another red flag would be that the application process is free. What does that tell you? Please take the time to look elsewhere. You will be sorry, just as I am."

"Capella University is a joke! Their Flex Path program is a huge waste of money. I tried to withdraw and they ignored me and still charged me for classes. I would not recommend this school to anyone! They say I owe them money and will not release my transcripts. BAD BAD SCHOOL DO NOT GO TO CAPELLA UNIVERSITY!!!"

"This is an amazing school! It may be difficult for people who need constant interactions with professors, but for people who are self-motivated and able to teach themselves the course material, this is an excellent option that is fully accredited. Some of the professors create interactive videos and also live discussions that also help students feel more connected to the classroom and it also allows a chance to ask questions and receive feedback face to face. There are also residency training seminars that meet each year where you get to spend almost a week with your classmates and professors. Overall, Capella is a great school that offers opportunities for people who want to advance their education on their own schedule, while still keeping their current life and job. If someone doesn't like Capella, they may just need more hand holding from a local brick and mortar school, or they may just not be good at figuring out the coursework on their own. It certainly takes a lot of self-discipline and motivation to stay ahead with a school like Capella... but in the end it is definitely worth it because you will end up with a solid degree that is fully accredited. Their tuition is a bit on the expensive side, but again, this is definitely not one of the crappy online schools. It is a very challenging and legitimate school with very qualified professors. That is why CACREP gave them full accreditation for their counseling programs. This is the equivalent of the APA for psychologists or AMA for physicians."
