"The program is rigorous and requires a lot of time a research. If you are uncertain of your goals I wouldn't recommend approaching an online masters course as the time you need to allot to a successful education will surpass the amount time most people have. I personally found the advisors to be useless and the professors to be the best route for learning more about your career and how to prepare every step."

"Excellent program and I would highly recommend it. Lots of support through professors, librarians and irb staff. This experience has changed my professional career! But it's most definitely not an easy program so be prepared for some hard work and dedication"

"I would NOT recommend this school to ANYONE. I withdrew from classes and they still charged me. They have me a ton of problems with financial aid, problems that I never had with my other university. They will not release my transcripts making it IMPOSSIBLE for me to get into a program elsewhere. Absolutely would not attend here and would not recommend anyone else to. Find a school that actually cares about their students instead of the money."

"I've had the unfortunate experience that I have been reading about. People, please remember that Capella is a for-profit school. I have been given the run around every since I started, from financial aid issues to the correct path. If at all possible, please choose a school that can be accessed by going to an office. It is very difficult to get anything done over the phone or via email. Capella is only interested in making money as all for-profit schools are. I have decided to transfer schools. I wish I had never started at Capella. One class costs 3100.00. Do not be fooled by the 310.00 bone that they throw you for coming to the school. It is not worth it. Many other schools cost half this much. Please do your research. It is very easy to get into this school for a reason. No recommendation letters are required, no background check, not even a telephone interview is required. Another red flag would be that the application process is free. What does that tell you? Please take the time to look elsewhere. You will be sorry, just as I am."

"Capella University is a joke! Their Flex Path program is a huge waste of money. I tried to withdraw and they ignored me and still charged me for classes. I would not recommend this school to anyone! They say I owe them money and will not release my transcripts. BAD BAD SCHOOL DO NOT GO TO CAPELLA UNIVERSITY!!!"

"This is an amazing school! It may be difficult for people who need constant interactions with professors, but for people who are self-motivated and able to teach themselves the course material, this is an excellent option that is fully accredited. Some of the professors create interactive videos and also live discussions that also help students feel more connected to the classroom and it also allows a chance to ask questions and receive feedback face to face. There are also residency training seminars that meet each year where you get to spend almost a week with your classmates and professors. Overall, Capella is a great school that offers opportunities for people who want to advance their education on their own schedule, while still keeping their current life and job. If someone doesn't like Capella, they may just need more hand holding from a local brick and mortar school, or they may just not be good at figuring out the coursework on their own. It certainly takes a lot of self-discipline and motivation to stay ahead with a school like Capella... but in the end it is definitely worth it because you will end up with a solid degree that is fully accredited. Their tuition is a bit on the expensive side, but again, this is definitely not one of the crappy online schools. It is a very challenging and legitimate school with very qualified professors. That is why CACREP gave them full accreditation for their counseling programs. This is the equivalent of the APA for psychologists or AMA for physicians."

"I have had a very positive and productive experience with Capella University. I found the Admissions process to be pretty quick and straightforward. With the academic plan tool on iGuide, I always knew where I was with my degree plan, and the sequencing of courses. Once I decided that I wanted to change to add a concentration, I was able to get that approved pretty seamlessly. Academic advisors have, over the 4 years I have been a student, nothing but courteous, understanding, empathic, knowledgeable, and helpful. Any time I started feeling discouraged about my progress, or when I had to take a couple of quarters off while dealing with a terminally ill parent, they were so responsive and helpful. Same iwth the financial aid department. Never got any run around, only clear answers to my questions so I always knew what to expect. Advisors would call to check my progress, or if I got a late start, would check with me to make sure everything was okay and remind me to login and post to my course. The modular structure of the courses is SO great. Very predictable, which I really needed as a working mom of three with a full time day and part time teaching job. As a teacher in higher ed myself (workforce ed), I had high expectations, and Capella exceeded my expectations in terms of providing me with a quality experience each course. I only had one negative faculty experience - all the rest have been positive. I just completed by undergrad, and have enrolled in an MEd program that begins in June. Love my Capella U Experience!!! Have recommended it to several colleagues and students."

"The doctoral program at Capella was excellent. I worked harder at Capella than I did at Columbia University where I received my MSW. The professors were from great schools all over the world and they expected nothing less than doctoral work. I was challenged daily."

"If lack of communication and high levels of incompetence is something you crave to deal with than Capella is the place for you. They overall program was great. The professors were awesome. Unfortunately, the business, financial aid, &a advisor suck!"
