"Capella University is a top notch Online university that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees that are affordable and highly respected. My Bachelor of Science in Psychology has given me a higher earning potential and because of the acredidation of the school my degree has never been questioned. Since graduating I have enrolled again at Capella and am working on my Masters in Mental Health Counseling. The graduate experience is one that I highly encourage everyone to consider, especially at Capella University, because the faculty, staff, and academic advisors are friendly, willing to go the extra mile, and provide any supports necessary to ensure that you are successful. I'm very satisfied with my choice of Capella University."

"I previously wrote a review while doing a study for UofW so wrote it for the wrong school. Capella provides an excellent venue for obtaining a degree. The instructors exceeded my expectations and the mentor (Dr. Judith Forbes) kept me on course. Did I enjoy the time? YES! Was it hard work? Yes. I wish I was doing more with the university but Oregon is a far way from the Minneapolis headquarters. Capella is dedicated to mature students with firm goal orientations."

"Capella starts off wonderful and supportive until you get to the dissertation phase and that's when things change. I've spent numerous semesters on my project, am 100s of thousands in debt and still at milestone #2. Capella suggested a class to help me achieve later milestones and I expelled a lot of money in hotel, airline and rental car expenses only to determine that the class was not suited for me. I wrote my advisor numerous times expressing my concern and was told to stay in the class and it would help. Well...guess what...it didn't, and now they want me to repeat the class next semester which means another set of lost work days and travel expenses. In addition, I cannot go back into the dissertation classroom where I was at least making progress. Avoid this school at all costs (I do mean costs!). One professor will say one thing and then you move to another one who gives you a totally different outlook and they continue to bounce you around and then you get a notice that you'll need to finish your study by a certain date or you'll be administratively withdrawn leaving you with only bills as proof that you attended the school."

"DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL ONLINE!! THE INSTRUCTORS DO NOT AND WILL NOT STAY IN COMPLIANCE WITH YOUR ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABILITIES IF YOU HAVE ANY!!! ALSO, DO NOT EXPECT FOR THEM TO GIVE YOU ANY DUES DATES FOR ANY ASSIGNMENTS!! YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGURE EVERYTHING OUT FOR YOURSELVES!!! THIS SCHOOL WITH THE ADVISERS AND THE ADMINISTRATION DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH OUT LEARNERS TOO WELL AND SHOULD NOT BE PROVIDING PHONE NUMBERS ON THEIR SYLLABUS IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE CONTACTED. I AM SORRY BUT I AM VENTING MY ANGER!! I am going back to a brick and mortar school where there is REAL learning provided!!"

"I was in the Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. I earned my Ph.D. in Human Services: Specialization in Counseling. As a school counselor, the comprehensive and rigorous course work in the doctoral program has prepared me to be more effective when providing counseling services to not only children but to parents and guardians. My professors and mentor were dedicated and committed to seeing me through the process. Working towards attaining a doctoral degree is a "journey" like no other. That being said, I am proud to say, " I am a Capella Alumni Ambassador.""

"This University is focused on money not education. I already have a PhD in Chemistry from a brick an mortar University but decided to continue my education many years later with a degree in Business. The classes were very good and I learned a lot. However, the doctorate portion of the program was very lacking compared to what I did in my previous graduate studies. It was not going well and I requested to be placed on leave while I decided if I would continue. This was done for a quarter but then I was charged for the following quarter that I had not requested to be signed up for. I have sent many letters to Capella explaining that I did ask to be enrolled and explained why I left. They will not even talk with me about the program unless I pay for the quarter I did not attend. I would like to discuss the option of completing the program with a Masters but this is not their priority only the money."

"I have received my Bachelors, MBA and am in my Dissertation phase of the PhD program at Capella. Capella's professors provide you with a list of assignments, due dates and expectations upon beginning the classes. Participation is graded up to 50% percent of your grade but if you read carefully the requirements of the participation then you can easily nail that 50%. I found the program flexible as long as I planned ahead and once I figured out that I must meet the minimum requirements it was easy for me to integrate the workload into my very busy life. The PhD program has been the most challenging. The course work was more difficult and Track 1 and 2 have evolved since I attended to better prepare students. Comprehensive Exams are extremely intense and there is a reason that only 2% of the population has a PhD. The courseroom experience for dissertation is frustrating but as get closer to milestone 6 I am hopeful that the process will go faster. New learners are prepared thru Milestone 5 during their Track 1 and 2. Overall, I am pleased with the school, I have been challenged and have gotten from the experience what I have put into it!"

"As I read through some of the negative comments about Capella University, it took me back to when I first started my journey with Capella Flexpath. Advisors stressed time and time again about working on time management. I found that everything they said was true. If you don't have time management, the program will not work. In fact, no online studies will work without time management. As for financial aide, I haven't had any problems with it. I was awarded a scholarship in the beginning that has been disbursed over the semesters. I can even see it on my financial aide school report. I think what people fell to realize is that, when you sign up to take online courses, you have to be willing to adjust your schedule called life in order to be successful with achieving goals. Yes, there have been problems with iGuide but it's no different than dealing with any computerized programs. I have called the support line at 1 a.m. in the morning on a couple of occasions and always received the help I needed. My advisor has always been available to go over my academic program with me whenever I had questions. It's a learners responsibility to stay on top of what is going on and to ask questions ahead of time to avoid any mishaps. I am looking forward to graduation day. If I can do it, I know you can."

"Capella's doctoral program gives working adults a chance to achieve their academic dreams. I completed my Bachelor's and Master's at traditional brick-and-mortar universities. I really had wanted to pursue my doctorate, however after entering the workforce and needing to pay bills, living on a graduate student's stipend is not realistic or always possible. I was able to begin my doctorate with Capella online part-time, and it has definitely been worth it. It is not easy. You are held accountable and expected to meet high standards like any other doctoral program. The professors are all very accomplished in their fields. It is a lot of work, you need to be able to manage time on your own, and work on it every day. It seems that those who fail at their studies are not self-starters, and expect their hands to be held. I am beginning my dissertation soon and feel confident in Capella' guidance and how this will boost my personal and professional success. Yes, the cost is expensive, as it is a private university, but the Financial Aid team is very helpful, and I feel like you get your money's worth. Library services are flawless, and professors genuinely are invested in your success.Every time I had to contact any representative from the university, whether it be the advising team, financial aid officers, etc, they are all quick to respond and provide helpful information. Even their community group on Facebook provides a great way for students to connect with each other. If it wasn't for Capella, I wouldn't have been able to reach my dream of getting a doctoral degree!"
