Degree: Public Health
Graduation Year: 2014
"I attended Capella to receive a masters in Public Health with a focus in Advocacy and Leadership. The program was not only a great fit for me but the staff, professors and advisers we very supportive. When I finally made the decision to further my education I was really nervous and afraid that I would not do very well and I was concerned with juggling full time work, school and other personal responsibilities. After speaking with an adviser, being provided with extensive information on Capella University's programs and receiving feedback from Capella Ambassadors I was encouraged and ready to apply. After getting started and doing better in my courses than I thought, before I knew it I was walking across the stage proudly receiving my degree with my friends and family in the audience cheering me on. I have also gained new friends and connections as a result of being a Capella Learner. After graduation I became a Capella Ambassador and was offered by Capella to return to pursue my doctorate degree, well I refused. I did so because I was tired of school and really thought that I just did not need to go any further. Well, a few months later out of no where I felt a peace about pursuing my doctorate degree so I contacted Capella to inquire. Again, the staff and advisers were great and i enrolled in the doctorate program. I was also able to land a job as a Medical Case Manager working with persons living with HIV. In 2018 I will be walking across the stage yet again but this time as Dr.! I am so grateful for the support I have received from Capella over these years. If you are looking for a great university with diversity, support and multiple degree options I personally feel Capella is a great choice!"

"When deciding to pursue a degree, it is a serious commitment that must be given adequate time and attention. Capella offers the opportunity for students to use a guided process that lists all components of the education. They provide a layout of all courses required for graduation and even a manual for the dissertation. In addition to the manual, each student is provided with a mentor to help along the way. Some mentors are good and some are not so good. If you are assigned someone that isn't working in your best interest, it is best to request a different mentor. Be serious, use the resources, and you can graduate on time. I have taken my MBA and now DBA at Capella. I plan to complete the DBA in the Fall of 2017. Good luck to all of the future graduates!"

"Great program that does not take years to complete. Supportive professors and wonderful opportunity to interact with peers all over the globe from varying education and career avenues. I learned more than I ever did sitting in a traditional classroom"

"I am proud of my accomplishment of completing a Doctorate degree. It has been a year since completion and I still do not have a job. I reached out to career services but they do not assist with actual job placement which would be an enhancement of the Capella experience."

Degree: Curriculum & Instruction
Graduation Year: 2011
"It was a challenging program. I particularly appreciated the diversity in the courseroom as it gave me the opportunity to learn from so many others with experiences and contexts that differed from my own. The university also was very supportive with scheduling as well as providing assistance when I needed it. The colloquiums were a great opportunity to connect in person with people I still stay in contact with."

"I found my years at Capella to be both challenging but informative. I enjoy the online platform, because I feel that you truly get a change to research ideas and therapeutic techniques in such a way were you're making an informed decision on which type of therapeutic technique you prefer to use. I found an academic advisor that I trusted, however, the financial aid office is another thing. They are not helpful in assisting you in making financial choices. However, the professors are great, however this school needs to be more proactive in assisting their students in the practicum and internship phases. Other schools have agreements with different organizations and hospitals. It would be nice for Capella to do the same thing, especially for those students who live in the middle of no where ville, or for me who live in a big city, but all of the hospitals and counseling organizations have affiliations."

"Financial aid was quick to respond back to my questions and helped me make sure I was accepting the correct amount each semester. The professor's that I had were all there to help you succeed. The program was designed well and taught me many things that I will carry into my new career as a practice manager. Capella is a great school, but requires hard work in the students part."

"I started my degree at a community college while trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I knew where I wanted to be but I wasn't sure how to get there. After exploring options, I contacted Capella. The advising team there was very helpful, I told them the things I wanted to accomplish and what I wanted out of my career and they were able to help me choose the degree that I needed to get there. Now I am in the process of completing my graduate degree and will soon be licensed. I have been given great opportunities because of my degree from Capella and I look forward to the doors that are currently being opened via this affiliation!"

"This is my first time attending an educational institution that has been exclusively online. I have enjoyed my experience at Capella thus far and would highly recommend it to students who are seeking an online degree. So far I have not had any negative experiences to speak of; the academic advisors I have had so far have been very helpful and relay valuable sources of information when requested, the professors respond to emails in a timely fashion, and the coursework has not been difficult to follow. Just as any online course, it takes discipline, motivation, and dedication to be successful."

Degree: Public Safety Management
Graduation Year: 2016
"The curriculum was right on point for what I wanted and needed, the professors were extremely professional and helpful throughout the entire program. Counselors listened to what I was saying about what I wanted to accomplish as a result of the program. Instructors were always looking for positive ways to interact with the students and to help make their work better. Since my graduation with a Masters in Public Saftey and a focus in Criminology, which was last December I have been tasked with co-writing textbooks in criminology for a university in Africa. Currently, I am working on a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice at Capella University I would recommend anyone who is serious about getting an education in a positive environment to attend Capella University. Throughout my experience at Capella University, they have always done what was right by the student with integrity and treated me with respect."
