"This University is a joke. They do prey upon students and they are not consistent with graduation requirements. In the DBA program, they allowed some students extra time and support to finish work that was not afforded other students. I finished my coursework with a 4.0 and they did not allow me to complete my dissertation to finish the program. I had health issues, family deaths, and other personal crisis that I was facing, and I was never advised to take "leave" from the program. Out of the group that I started the program with, only 2 people, JUST two have completed the program. To my knowledge they did two of us the same way, but their graduation rate is abysmal and the program is a joke. DON'T go to this school. AND, they started to loose numbers so they kept raising tuition to make up for it."

"I found the psychology coursework to be intellectually challenging and stimulating. The professors were helpful - providing feedback, assistance, compelling discourse and thought-provoking dialog with me and my fellow coursemates. During the 4 years it took me to achieve the MS, I experienced two family deaths which caused me to drop and re-take several of the courses required for the degree. In both situations, the Psychology department advisors helped me appeal and re-establish academic standing, and the profs were accommodating in terms of coursework due dates. In spite of having to re-take 3 courses, I graduated with a 3.2 GPA. It's important to know what you want out of the degree program and to make your decision with eyes wide open regarding the commitment, both monetary and time-based, to graduate from a fully online degree program. Regarding the question of how the degree prepared me for a career: I was unable to gain traction with this psychology degree as I live outside of the US. However, I feel that it added significant value to me as a person. Good Luck!"

"Obtained by RN to BSN at Capella due in fact that they were accredited and recommended by the ANA. While a lot of writing and redundancy, it was no different than the CSU system online programs. While the cost is not cheap, it provides the same curriculum as others. I did not need the use of financial aid, an in fact received a discount as a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) so perhaps others have issues sole due to financial concerns."

"As one other review stated, since this is a "For-Profit" institution, they are more interested in getting your tuition than giving you the support and mentoring you need to graduate. After taking all the necessary coursework, Capella University ignored me and any support I needed to finish. Even when I applied for student loans at FAFSA, there was a warning that states Capella's graduation rate is low compared to their drop out and transfer rates. The only consolation is that if Capella looses its accreditation, I can get my money back. Caution is definitely advised before registering with Capella."

"Stay as far away from Capella University as you can get. This school has the absolute worst faculty, tech support, library support, learner support, advisors, financial aid team and practices! They take your money just fine and then you are on your own. Want to actually learn something without a ton of aggravation and someone always trying to reach into your pockets for more and more money? Enroll elsewhere. This school has NOTHING to offer except deceptive practices, inaccessible resources, and absolutely NO ONE to help you."

"The PhD program at Capella University is not for everyone. You need to have tenacity to meet the demands to earn your degree. Earning a PhD has been the most challenging but rewarding accomplishment of my entire life. Capella University offers excellent coursework to prepare you to write your dissertation. A mentor, and committee members are always there to provide feedback and guidance to achieve each milestone. If you are driven and up for a challenge, Capella University is for you."

"I applauded Capella University out of necessity because I finished up by BS in Business Admin and they have multiple accreditation. However, I was recently kicked out of my course room due to financial aid ineligibility. I would be happy to pay, but it appears that they prey on student loans. I am now stuck out and was kicked out of the course room in which I have a 93. Seek something else and do not hesitate."

"The value of the PhD from compelled the is multi-folded: I. It afforded an online community, and summer courses, that offered an excellent cross-cultural study group. 2. Their guest speakers and lectures were some of the major contributors in the field of psychology which would not have been available in one brick and mortar institution. 3. It offered a pill for a of job opportunities from classmates who live around the world. 4. It was the most eclectic academic experience I have had outside of my studies at the Frei University in Berlin Germany. 5. To me, it was the closest American education program that paralleled my European studies in both Germany and France - excellent learning opportunities were afforded each student and creativity was praised."

"The program didn't prepare me for the working in a new field. There is nothing to show what I can do that will give me a chance. The after graduation follow up is nonexistent. There is no industry tie in what so ever so you on your own. The only help is a review of my resume. Getting in the door of a company with a degree from this school is impossible. The school has made no attempt to forge alliances with companies. My time was wasted and my money was wasted. The "school" sold me on this degree making me employable. What a joke. If you are considering this school getting you further in your career, look elsewhere."

"Go somewhere else. You will not get anything more from Capella than you will get anywhere else, but you will get it 100 times cheaper. Capella is no different than other schools anymore in that they set their tuition based on knowing what the government will give you in loans. There was a time when I was younger tuition was reasonable and the loans helped you live while you studied hard. Now, schools pay their teachers crap, but their administrator executives million dollar salaries with golden umbrella retirement packages (work 5 years get full retirement) so they make sure they max out tuition to the very limit so they get the most money. Anyway, teachers are okay, some bad, some too political (like every college that hires liberals). Here is the worst - when your money is coming in they are the worlds best friend, when it isn't or you're having trouble and once they can't pressure you, they drop you like a sack of potatoes. Just go somewhere else."
