Degree: Educational Leadership
Graduation Year: 2018

I have attended several online programs and by far Capella is the best. The resources and support that the scholars receive through this program are tremendous. The professors are very knowledgeable and informative. They assist their students in being successful. They want you to succeed and not fail. There is no better institution to study at; Capella is GREAT!!! Come see for yourself. L. Brown

As far as their classes - they have a pretty good curriculum. I wanted to change programs to Human services and was told not to do that. I then decided to go to a school that was located in my city, that was when the financial part went crazy. As for the financial department, they are by far below standard. These people are horrible in their billing practices. One they send dispersments out then two weeks later send a letter stating you now have to pay you tuition. This was because they can not "officially" charge FASFA again for the semester- illegal! Second My new school received a flag on my FASFA, come to find out they are STILL billing me for a class I never attended and I had already filled out the paperwork to transfer. These people are a joke and should not be trusted with anyone's money!

Shortly after getting my BSN, I began contemplating if I should pursue a MSN degree. I knew that I did not want to sit in a classroom anymore so I looked into online programs. During my search I found the Capella website user friendly. I was able to have most of my questions answered from the website. However, once I spoke with an admissions advisor (B. N.) I decided to enroll. He was very encouraging. Also, I liked that I could access a class on a trial basis to determine if Capella was for me.

When I began researching possible Masters levels school, the selection is overwhelming. They all have their selling points. What works for YOU? That's the school you need to be involved in. I am so pleased with Capella. The professors are all awesome and make you think, dig down and really resolve/understand the assignments. I did in fact try one of those schools that you go at your own pace but was totally left out there. Just pay your money and turn your papers in. Then I found Capella. Everyone from my advisor to writing coach to faculty want you to succeed. It's the best decision you'll ever make!

Degree: Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling
Graduation Year: 2018

Going to a college online is a real challenge. It requires so much more of the student than the traditional college or university. The programs are pretty awesome and make sure that you know what you are talking about when you get that degree. The professors in the Masters program are experts or veterans in the field. My program, every professor is a counselor with at least 15 years experience. Some of them are still practicing in their field, but they take the time to help you. The students at Capella are helpful in the course room and in social media. We follow each other on Facebook and other platforms. I would say to take the free tester course and see if you can do this. Find a group on Facebook for Capella students and start asking questions. If you are working, create a self care plan and get your family on a schedule so you can take the time to study, you will be expected to write a lot of essays at the Masters level.

Degree: Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching
Graduation Year: 2020

After I began to research online PhD programs I was very interested in Capella's program because it provided a thorough description of coursework, comprehensive exams, and dissertation expectations. I also received a pop-up chat line that answered questions I had concerning the PhD program. I then received a call from an enrollment counselor who really explained the admission process. I was impressed with the professionalism I experienced and decided to apply to the doctoral program. The process was simple and the staff were extremely helpful. As an adult learner, these are qualities I looked for when deciding to return to complete my PhD. I have referred others and would continue to do so because I am proud to be affiliated with Capella University. I have completed several courses and feel the faculty in the Education program truly want their students to be successful. I would highly recommend this university to anyone wanting to experience an online education. Thank you.

Not every online University is incompetent; certainly, I know that Capella is very competent. It is also worth noting that an online university is not for everyone. For one thing, one has to be effective with using technology, secondly, one has to be time conscious and discipline, third, one has to be a fast learner. These are important criteria needed to succeed in an online environment. I will admit that every university has its pros and cons. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. There have been times when I felt frustrated with certain activity at Capella, but, as mentioned, every student will experience such even in traditional universities. It is also important to note that the fundamental reason(s) for every university is to make money and hopefully providing quality education. Capella University is providing quality education and in my opinion, I believe that Capella University is one of the best online University out there.

Degree: Information Technology
Graduation Year: 2018

I work full time and I have a family with 3 children. My dream to pursue Ph.D is being realized through Capella university's unique teaching, and assessment methods. Let me summarize them in points. 1. Capella is fully accredited University by one of the six regional accrediting bodies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. So, it's degrees are valued and respected by the industry. I got recognition and promotion by just pursuing it. 2. Capella degrees requires hard work, commitment and determination 3. Capella give opportunities to every eligible (meets the degree prerequisites) candidates without requiring additional requirements like GRE, GMAT, or recommendations. 4. Capella puts the onus of commitment and determination on the students. So, if you see or hear students complaining or write bad/incorrect reviews, then look into the reasons and I think the problem is with their ability to remain motivated and committed. My experience is if one puts the required hard work and commitment, one should be able to get through the course work required to attempt the Comprehensive Exam. 5. Comprehensive exam is rigorous and world class assessment of your skills to pursue doctoral research work. Getting through the course work doesn't guarantee passing comprehensive exam. One should be able to critically analyze and answer the questions, apply research methodology, and cite latest research in your research topic area. I worked hard (120-150 hours in 4 weeks), read 100+ articles and wrote my answers, and I am glad, I passed. If one feels he/she is not prepared to attempt it, then there are various options such as taking writing course, etc and acquire the skills required. I am sure the advisors will gladly help you. One has to plan properly and be truthful to one's readiness. 7. Deciding research topic is a rigorous path, and the mentors, professors and residencies helped me in shaping my research topic and I am very grateful for it. I can't imagine what more can they do to better the experience. 8. I am currently in my dissertation phase, and I am happy with the milestones laid out and working towards them. I am excited to complete my dissertation and proudly list my PhD. I hope this helps you in reaching your dreams.

Degree: Information Technology
Graduation Year: 2016

I would highly recommend Capella for any person who thinks work/life balance and going to school is impossible. I transferred from a prestigious New England College that caters to young adults with rich parents. I am a veteran with a family and work full time. It wasn't until I transferred to Capella that I could actually envision completing my degree. The reason being, the professors go above and beyond to help you if you don't understand, fall behind or just need some extra motivation. The academic advisers are amazing and feel like close friends. They always keep your best interest in mind and help you not only realize your potential but also help you meet your goals. I can honestly say, I would still be going to school without the backing of Capella's staff to keep me on track and motivated to finish.
