I love my courses and time management is the key! Not yet finish, but I am staying on the right track. My C.P.A. program is perfect. You have to stay focus and complete all assignments and quizzes. If there's problems teachers and faculty is always there to help.
I finished my degree August 2016 and graduated from Capella in March, 2017. I owe $145,000 in student loans which I have had to defer ever since my time limit of 6 months expired and the payment is $1400/month. the worst part, I can not get a job. I am on 8 different websites, trying to get a teaching job online, teaching teachers, which is the reason I pursued my degree. It has been 16 months since I completed my degree and 8 months since I gradated. I owe a tremendous amount of money and can not get a job in any capacity that reflects my degree. I have called Capella and the only help I get is referred to their online help center, which I have used. Think LONG and HARD before beginning a degree here. I don't know that I would do it again. The debt is debilitating and there is very little to no help with obtaining a job. It's been beyond disappointing.
It is great program. I would highly recommend it. I have LCSW license and I am excited about receiving my DSW degree. I look forward to exploring new career options. I am a transfer student from another PhD program. Capella university counselors were very helpful.
This is my first course at Capella University. My professor is awesome! I find it very satisfying to have an advisor who responds to my questions and concerns, a professor who is knowledge in the field, welcomes the opportunity for correction, a university that offers opportunities and resources that are valuable. Technology is a function that we use daily. I have my books loaded through the app from Vitalsource bookshelf. Everything is accessible, and I find that to be important for students.
Capella has offered me an intense study into the effects of technology on education, prepared me to feel confident to continue my research in the field beyond graduation, and given me the confidence to serve as a leader in my school. The professors are extremely real world driven many of whom are doing research along side their students to continue to make an impact in the field together. Collaboration, flexibility, responsibility, real-world application, etc. are just a few of the descriptors I would use to describe the opportunities I've received from Capella University.
The marriage and Family Counseling Therapy Program is a great program. It covers many aspects of mental health issues that plague our society. The program focuses on issues surrounding families as a unit. Although individual therapy is covered in the curriculum, its focus is healing the individual through family involvement. The MFCT program is similar to the coursework covered in tradional schools. However I would suggest studying hard and researching various books and videos to further your professional knowledge.
Capella is a phenomenal university. The staff at all levels create an environment that is conducive to receiving a quality education that will be useful in entering a profession or advancing your career. At Capella University, you are not just a number in a computer; you are a person to them. Throughout your time with Capella you are connected with an advisor who is there not only to help you plan your classes. They are also there to cheer you on, give you advice, advocate for you, and support you in any other way they can. The Mental Health Counseling program is intense. There is an IMMENSE amount of reading, but it is all important information that will serve you well in the future. Capella is the place for students who want to learn and want an environment that will encourage them to grow and thrive as a student, as a professional, and as a person.
My experience has been amazing from the very beginning. My Enrollment Counselor, S.S., was beyond helpful and amazing to work with. My Academic Advisor, M.G. is very helpful and always answers any question I manage to come up with. The instructors are always trying to be as helpful as possible to help you succeed and pass the course. The BS/MBA combined degree option is not available for FlexPath. So if you are in FlexPath you will have to go to GuidedPath to complete the last few courses that are Master's level. The other thing I want to point out is the Scholarship disbursement. If you are awarded a Scholarship through Capella, they decide how it's disbursed through the quarters. I don't necessarily agree with that. I think if you are awarded a Scholarship, you should have the right to choose how you want it disbursed in your quarters.
Whether you are pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree, Capella University offers many programs to achieve your goals. The university employs instructors who provide quality education and a desire to see students succeed. Academic advisors work with students to help reach their goals and are always available to answer questions and concerns. Overall, Capella makes distance learning a great experience; especially for those who are new to online learning.
I am a current student at Capella for the Education Administration EdS program. I also have a Master's degree from Capella in Higher Education. The programs at Capella allow for flexibility in advanced coursework for anyone who is working full-time, raising a family or simply has obligations during "typical" course time. The education programs are widely accepted in the work force and has allowed me to further my career goals as an educational leader.
