"Note to be wary of: their transfer credit review. The courses are great, but this online school tries to wring every single penny out of you that they can. After taking over 15 Masters level and Doctoral analysis courses throughout my first foray into college 5 years ago, I decided to go back since work pays for it. That being said, this school is going for every single penny they can get - and while it doesnt really impact me, I can see others potentially getting sucked into the trap and just want to put the warning out there. Did not accept a single analysis course for comp credit... and the credits from all 4 of my previous degrees are from state university. Anyways, a school aimed at you/that is looking out for your best interests would probably try to optimize on what you already have. A good enrollment counselor would at least point out degree programs in your field that you already have half of the credits for, etc. Just remember, this is a business first and foremost. They are on their own side first, your interests come second- and only if your interests makes this place money. Real universities are not places of business, they try to put the students interest first, even if it means they miss out on thousands of dollars for a class the student has already taken."

"The reviews against the programs have been that there isn't enough support, but I was offered multiple different support avenues. Professors were incredible with a live class/week, and always asked if we needed any extra help. There were extra lectures available and my advisor called periodically each quarter to check on my progress. Any questions I had were answered immediately and I now proudly have my graduate degree. It was a lot of work and reading, as expected, and so worth it!"

"The Flex Plan Program is designed for the busy working person to work as your pace and you have 12 weeks to finish assessments. I am truly distraught at the fact that you are on your own. Meaning, you have no lecture, no videos, no help whatsoever.....only what you can find in their poor library and on the internet. Coaches(professors) only criticize your work and make you go to a tutor to figure it out when you have no clue what you are doing wrong. The cost, the grading system of Flex Path and figuring out what you are actually supposed to do is not worth the effort to sign up with this University. I love learning. I spend a lot of time on Lynda.com (where I learn way more than Capella offers. I have had another professor friend from another university look over the procedures for the MBA Flex Path Program and he was in total shock."

"Worst school to deal with. I started school here and had to figure everything out on my own. After a semester, my wife lost her job and we moved states. I didn't attend for a year. When we settled, i started back up, but was forced to reenroll. I was then told that since I was still paying off my tuition from prior semester, I cant register for classes until late September (wasting whole summer semester). Due to timing, i enrolled at a different college to be able to continue with school faster. They are not refusing to release my transcript to my new school due to the same reason. I even offered to roll the remaining balance into my student loan, and they refused that too. Have been completely unwilling to even listen to my requests. Will definitely not be continuing my education here!"

"I will be finishing the RN-BSN program at the end of June 2019. The admission process was actually very simple because of the admission advisors and they will help you every step of the way. They accepted my previous courses quickly and I did not need to take any other courses to start this program which I was very relieved about. I chose the flexpath option and I truly loved it. I am a fast worker and determined to get my BSN. Therefore, in order to get my BSN in 6 months, I had to write 2-3 paper a week. Yes it wasn't fun, but its very much doable! I way also working full time as a nurse. The papers take time and practice to write but you'll be a pro in no time. It was definitely worth it and they want you to succeed so it is very rare for someone to "fail out". The pricing wasn't terrible, depending on how many courses you take a term which was 3 months. I was able to complete 1 course in 2-3 weeks. It wasn't easy but it was WORTH it. Now I am done with school and am very proud of myself. Also, the academic advisors are always there to help and you are not alone."

"I enjoyed my time for the most part at this school. I enjoyed what I studied and found it challenging. I got wonderful guidance and assistance from everyone except two individuals who are no longer associated with this university that caused me a couple of costly delays. I am not going to disrespect or discredit this school over the actions of two people. Overall I had a wonderful time and was able to graduate with my PhD in just under four years. I have four degrees in varying aspects of my field 3 of which came from a brick and mortar state school. In comparison the level theoretical analysis and level of research exceeded what I had learned in my prior degrees. Having this extensive knowledge in theory and research combined with application based knowledge from my other degrees have made me a well rounded person in my field and Capella played a huge part in that. I cant speak for current students or administrators and the current processes but how they where from 2013-2017 was great for me. I recommend this school, however it isnt for the faint of hearts. If you like self-directed study with moderate guidance then this school is probably for you. However, if you have to be physically taught most of the information you are expected to learn then you probably will not like it. I hope this helps people make a informed decision."

Fantastic Experience - 6/8/2019

"I can only speak for myself, but I loved my experience with Capella. I earned my BA in Psychology from ASU. As much as I learned from and appreciated the program, it felt distant and it was difficult to connect with my professors. During my MS at Capella, we had two-hour live sessions with our professors every week, they were incredibly responsive, and they have a wide variety of experiences."

"The whole process is completely streamlined. From beginning to end, all expectations, requirements, and tools needed to complete course are provided. The FlexPath learning platform requires you to have a very motivated and overachieving approach to the completion of course assessments to make the best use of it. I came in with partial credit transfers (not all credits were able to be transferred from applicability of degree program) from a previous Associate's degree, and was able to finish the course in about 18 months, which cost me around $16,000. I definitely have to be pleased with the overall cost, considering I paid double for my Associate's program at another school. I don't like how with the FlexPath program you are not able to get recognition for outstanding performance (Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, etc.), as there are no letter grades or G.P.A. however, it is all about what you get out of the program in the end. Overall, I can say it was a great experience, I learned a lot, and I can say the program will definitely impact my professional future in a positive way."

6 Year Graduate - 5/29/2019
Degree: Business Administration

"It took me 6 year to complete my B.S Business Administration. My whole Capella experience was amazing. I can only speak of my own experience however the class rooms, staff, administrators, class mates were amazing. It took me 6 years because I worked long hours but committed almost every night to complete my degree. I made a commitment to complete my degree not make excuses why the school, professors, etc were to blame for my failures. I earned my degree, period. Finally, I am so proud to be a Capella Alumni. Oh yeah, this degree helped me to pay off my school debt."

"I had a great experience from beginning to end. The recruiter, coach, tutors, and professors were awesome. The staff was encouraging and supportive the whole way through. I had searched many universities prior to choosing Capella and was so glad I chose well. I am 56 years old and had graduated with a nursing diploma in 1985. What a journey and am so proud of my accomplishment."
