"~$60,000 per student in the Nursing program. We were given old iPads, slow computers, out-of-date books, broken projectors, printers that don't work, a sub-par library, as well as simulation equipment that is both expensive and finicky. The turnover rate for instructors and nursing staff (about 2 or more per semester) is insane for the 6 figures they're paid annually. Students are taught the bare minimum once they get to Level 3. Clinical schedules are made last minute and instructors are allowed to pick favorites, give answers to those they like, and treat the other students terribly. The only ones teaching and testing fairly were the male Pharm instructors. On top of everything, there seems to always be tons of drama involving both staff and students. The wait at CNM is worth it."

"Run. Run far away and fast. I had the deprivilege of sitting shotgun on a journey with the Mesa, Arizona Carrington College Nursing program and all I can say is, RUN. Point blank and period, run. Do not give them your money and if you already have try to get it back ASAP. For a mere $43,000 Carrington College tells you they will provide you with everything you need to be become a Registered Nurse. Here’s all the stuff they FAIL to tell you… • They do not have a permanent Dean or Director of Nursing. They change regularly and often during the semester making the administration there a joke. • Teachers are in the same boat. For most classes during the 18-month curriculum the teacher quit or was fired and replaced; as many as three times during a single block. As a result, there were teachers from Reno, NV proctoring online and by proctoring, I mean handing out PowerPoints and expecting you to learn. • In fact, the ENTIRE curriculum is PowerPoints, and not good ones. You could just get copies if you prefer to save yourself the money and just skip to the part where you teach yourself. That’s how it ends up when you go to Carrington anyway. • Who cares about the classroom though when you know you are going to get all your experience and real learning during the clinical hours. Wrong. Here is what you can expect to experience for clinicals: o Incorrect information of where to report and what is required of you to get set up to attend clinicals. o A new preceptor/teacher for every clinical; sometimes people that Carrington just found to fill in for the day. o Last minute cancellations or changes to your clinical schedule. o In reality, most of the clinicals ended up being the student nurse sitting at home and doing simulators (v-sims) on a computer with no instructor available. Great way to learn! • And what was the end result you ask? Well, way less than half the class passed the NCLEX on the first try. Most struggled the entire curriculum to teach themselves. Most had to take the test MANY times, trying to re-teach themselves along the way. Many have not passed and will not pass. • And here’s just a couple more fun facts from our experience: o Every single schedule changed. This was sold as an accelerated nighttime nursing program, but Carrington College expected you to be at their whim anytime of day. If they wanted you at the school, you were expected to be there, even with less than 24 hours’ notice. They had zero respect for students’ personal lives. o Carrington College was previously disciplined for allowing student to cheat on tests. As a result, the way they attempt to proctor tests is obnoxious. Expect to not know where you are taking your test (at home, on site, at an alternative location) as they have a hard time getting teachers to come on site and proctor exams. o As mentioned, Carrington College is regularly either on Censure or Probation with the Arizona state nursing board. This is because of several factors but first and foremost is the fact that the student nurses they produce can’t pass the NCLEX at high enough rates. This is public information. You can validate their current status through the Arizona State Nursing Board online. The bottom line here is $43,000 is a lot of money to invest in your education and there are much better places to get your education. The community colleges here in Arizona are your very best option and are only around $15,000. Get on the wait list now and don’t rely on these ridiculously expensive schools to provide you a future. I’m having a hard time understanding how Carrington is still in business and in all honesty would consider taking legal action against them for false advertising of their program if I thought it was worth my time and money. So in conclusion, RUN."

"Do NOT attend this school. There are so many other options, pick them, and run away from this school. Teachers are useless, matter of fact everyone on this campus is useless. You will be treated just as a money sign because that's all they care about. Deans and teachers drop like flies here which means you'll have a "professor" that knows nothing about what they're teaching you. Terrible School, wish I read the reviews instead of going to this school. This school should be illegal to attend"

"admin is terrible and lies. professors are even worse. I would highly recommend not going to this school. Only thing that is good about it is that you finish quickly but I would say the incorrect information, lack of support, and terrible staff is 100 percent not worth it. I did not believe all of the bad reviews from other websites but they are all true. There is nothing good about this school."

"I agree with the previous reviews, I wouldn't recommend going here for numerous reasons: 1) They claim to help you on your class/assignments but act like we are all cheaters. They won't let you see what you missed on exams and wont give extra credit...seems fishy. I think they want certain students to fail to get money from them retaking classes. 2) They only have a quarter of what other universities have, even though you pay a lot more. 3) You are a guinea pigs for new teachers who never taught or barely have experience...so the classes are disorganized. Again, for the price you pay its ridiculous."

"This review is for the Mesquite campus. Disappointed would be an understatement. From day one everything has been disorganized. None of my credits (from an University) were utilized. Mid-semester your getting notifications of withdrawal threats because the filling person lost all your information. The staff are unprofessional and not very knowledgeable. When you have a real issue or concern, staff treats you like a PRESCHOOLER, literally!!!!! all they want you to do is have you draw and color pictures & stuff you with candy None of which is conducive for the RN program. They have literally told students to drop the course & retake it, instead of providing resources to help them pass. (It looks bad if students fail, rather than students withdrawing)The Fundamental/ med surg teacher act as if she has a vendetta against the entire class, (she takes PLEASURE in giving failing grades)she is without compassion or nursing skills. She gives 8+ chapters to read & gives test on whatever comes to her head. She words her questions completely wrong, so I ask how do you expect a right answer? For the skills section she skips through a you tube video & expect you to follow suit. No hands on demos just partial you tube videos ( when skills are a huge part in what makes you a nurse) The lectures are beyond horrible, I dont even want to elaborate. I've been an LVN for 11+ years and she confuses me, & Please don't ask a question or you will automatically be disregarded and shunned. The students aren't being prepare for the now Kaplan test nor NCLEX, we are just being lectured on making sacrifices for the school, & pressured to give a great review so they can keep funding. The only thing that has been consistent at this College is the automatic payment reminder e-mail. Honestly, I do not recommend this College to someone who wants to become a nurse and make an impact (because you will not learn a thing) however, if you are in the field and want to advance, why not it's only 18months."

"This school is seriously the WORST. The same professor teaches the first semester, and he doesn't want to help teach. When he is asked a question his response is "well basically..." and then veers off topic. Half of my class failed first semester. Our grades weren't posted until 7 weeks into the semester. Multiple students went to the professor himself, the tutor for the school, multiple administration people, and finally the dean and not one person could tell any of us were we stood in the class. The few study guides we received were from a different book than the one that we were learning from, and the study guides were handed out a week AFTER the test was taken. The only way to make a grade in this school is by taking tests, there are no assignments. When the school realized that most of the class was failing both Chemistry and A & P they changed the re-seating requirements, literally TWO WEEKS before the semester ended. When we had first enrolled at Carrington there was a two class you could fail rule, and still go on. Well they changed that, two weeks before the semester ended they sent out an email saying you had to request to be re-seated, go through all these ridiculous steps, and wait 180 days probation. So myself, and my other classmates were of course annoyed, but we did as we were told, and two days after the semester ended AFTER we all sent emails to be re-seated we got emails saying "since you did not request to be re-seated you are kicked out of the nursing program." I could go on and on about how unorganized and terrible this school is, but I will leave you with this. A student in my class had spoke with the tutor at the school in regards to this issue and she responded with "Well new students pay an extra $50,000, you're just going to give them an extra $2,000." That just goes to show you how money hungry the school is."

"I am a 3rd term nursing student at the Reno campus that is about to go into their 4th term and am beyond disappointed with this school. They cannot keep staff, having lost most of their good academic faculty over the last few years to TMCC and UNR. What students are left with is a school that is nothing like the one Carrington used to be in 2015, possibly earlier. The dean jumped ship, along with multiple firings in the administration that have left positions open and the administration extremely short-staffed. I have a friend who went here and graduated in late 2014, and she doesn't know ANY of the teachers now except some of the general education teachers and 1 nursing instructor. The general education instructors were good and comparable to the UNR instructors I had for general education courses. The nursing instructors are terrible. This is coming from someone who has straight A's and isn't writing an angry review due to low grades. They are genuinely bad and if the terrible instruction doesn't have you failing on its account, it will at the very least cause you much needless suffering. Imagine an environment where teachers can't get fired or reprimanded for even the most serious instruction and professionalism issues. Imagine the type of issues this would bring to the company in the long-run, like harboring terrible instructors and disgusting culture. This is what is happening with the Reno Carrington campus nursing program. The campus started having serious issues, many if not all of the good instructors left, and now almost only the bad are left and the dean cannot afford to let any of them go. To sum up the academic faculty culture: lab instructors are unsafe and have caused multiple accidents this semester alone (during one unsafe act I saw a lab instructor cause an acidic solution to fly into a students eyes that caused the student to have burning eyes the whole night. when she documented it she never wrote she did it, according to the student. This kind of lack of integrity is commonplace here.), nursing academic faculty are rarely prepared, do not communicate with their students well, and show such a level of disorganization in their class structure that I often wonder if some of these 65+ year old instructors have dementia (people make mistakes and are sometimes unprepared, but coming to class late and forgetting what is assigned to be done that day while class is going isn't right and students paying $50k+ deserve better). I could write quite a lot more about the issues with this program, but I just want to instead sum it up by saying this: I am sure people look into this college because it is a 2-year program and TMCC/other colleges are harder to get into. I would STRONGLY suggest first trying to get into ANY other 2-year option for your Reno nursing academic needs, as I am very sure no other school will have issues quite as severe as the Reno Carrington campus currently does for their nursing program. I am already looking for my potential to transfer next term to another school if possible."

"This review is based on the Mesquite Campus. Save your money and time!!!! The instructors are horrible their way of lecturing is to read word per word from the book. To begin with one of the instructors for Med Surg is just plain rude and talks down to people. We have spoken to dean about her behavior and lack of knowledge and nothing was done. You do not learn a thing as they do not know how teach but as a student you are automatically supposed to know enoough to pass a HESI after each semester. How we all asked each other if we have not learned a thing this semester. For each class you are supposed to read around 10 chapters because you will have test over them the following week. That is around 30 chapters a week that you wil be tested on , and impossible to learn of off. The test are another thing they are not based on the material you have read so they are NCLEX type questions they say! Then why not teach us the correct way afterall we are here to learn. Horrible Horrible Horrible RUN RUN RUN.... I know that you get drawn into a school that says you can earn your ADN in 2 years or less but at this school you will not. Do your research for this school before coming here."

"I strongly suggest you guys look elsewhere. This school is very unprofessional & unorganized. The instructors aren't even intelligent nor have the correct degree to teach a course. They expect you to read 10 chapters on one week & quiz you over 10 questions, like who does that? The professors just read PowerPoints from word to word and don't even hesitate to actually teach us the chapter. The front desk lady is very unprofessional & rolls her eyes when we ask for a certain staff. Point blank period they are just trying to take your money."

"This is very discouraging and disappointing. There has been a huge turnover in staff, and even a new dean was assigned. The program isn't well organized and structured. The students aren't tutored one on one and instead have been given links to self teach themselves. Just because you have a degree it doesn't mean you know how to teach someone. There are majority of students failing in the 5th, 4th, and 3rd semester with the same instructor, and nothing is being done. What is the reason majority of the class isn't passing? Apparently the syllabus aren't being revised to make sure that it's appropriate. Instead we are told that we aren't studying. This has been very stressful and corporate hasn't done anything to help at all. This feels like a scam. To retake a semester is very costly and doubles. We are in high amounts of debt and instead of helping us we are being let go. How do you expect your school to be successful when you won't help your students out? They are so quick to get you enrolled but afterwards they don't care. RN is a lot of hard work and dedication but it isn't impossible. I've compared the program with other friends that have graduated from other Nursing Programs in DFW area, and they all have mentioned that they are making us go through a unnecessary hard time. You should be trying to help us not want us to fail. All of us sacrifice time, money, and family time to attend to school and to have this happen is unacceptable. They then wonder why we won't show up to a parade to assist or participate. For ONE, since clinicals were unorganized and started really late now we have additional hours we have to put in while were in the middle of HESI testing and finals. Two, why would we promote something that has been a negative experience and would want someone else to go through the same trouble, and debt. How do they want us to pass when we aren't being taught how it should be. Please don't waste your time and money. The NCLEX passing rate is low, lets look at the bigger picture... why?..."

"This is review is based soley on attending the Mesquite, TX location. This is plenty wrong with this school and not exactly sure where to start. The main problem is that there are teachers who are not knowledgeable in the subject that they are teaching. Just because you are a nurse doesn't mean that you have teaching skills. Our med surg teacher is a first time teacher and because of that our grades suffered. Once the Dean was notified of how this same teacher talked to us, the unfair punishments she gave out, and the horrible test that she gave, the dean did nothing about it. 80% of the students are failing in the 3rd and 4th semesters there. The dean is saying that students aren't studying. If this amount of students are failing then something is wrong with the school. The only thing the students can do is repeat the same semester over and pay another $10,000 and hope they pass or they will be kicked out of the school. Beware because this location is currently under review by the state because of very low NCLEX pass rates. Keep your stress low and money in your pockets. Just try to get into a public college so you don't have to deal with these private schools."

"Horrible mistake attending this school! Graduating nursing student passing rates for NCLEX are extremely poor. Instructors are really clinical nurses that have little experience in teaching academically. The students cannot comprehend the material because the instructors are learning the material themselves. Majority of the students are barely passing due to poor teaching and have to self-teach one another. The dean seems to not have a control over the program and not even care that the student is struggling greatly, low morale, and poor class averages. Students are going to tutoring, group studies, and using outside sources to try to maintain to no avail. As a nursing student, I would never recommend anyone to join a program of this poor caliber. It's too expensive and not enough student support. The way the nursing program courses are designed clearly wasn't thought out and not designed with the student best interests at heart. This program can easily turn into a money pit! Statistically wise I don't see this program excelling are lasting too much longer. The grace period the Texas Board of Nursing issued to get scores above 80% is running out of time. This program has NEVER been over or even close to the 80% that is required to deemed an established RN program."

"Do not go here, I thought when I first signed up and seen all the bad reviews that it was simply from lazy students that were unable to pass the course, but the horror stories are true. The staff is incompetent, rude and demeaning. I am a smart, focused, hard working student and have never been put in such a bad situation. I completed the program by the grace of god, but only half of the students that started the program were able to complete it. Just ask any current student how they feel about the program and you can get an idea of what you will be getting yourself into. The staff can not even stand it, teachers were continuously quitting and it was a very unstable environment. Consider yourself warned."
