Chamberlain College of Nursing Reviews

Attending Chamberlain was the best thing that happened to me. I started school many times and stop. I went to the ENA conference and met presenters from CCN I stated in September, the admission advice was great he made sure I send all my papers in the instructors are excellent. I completed my degree in July of 2015 and started my MSN the education track. The highlight is today I went to the New Jersey campus for the opening of the North Brunswick campus and met the President it came full circle for me for students living in NJ this is great news for them I can't wait to complete my MSN Thank you all the professors that have helped shape where I am right now.
WARNING: I 100% regret the decision to go to this school. Go to a school that finds preceptors for you. The beginning of the program is good but dealing with the "practicum coordinators" is a complete joke. The teachers show absolutely no interest in the welfare of students. The dean shows complete disrespect for students concerns. He does not return emails or phone calls. I will NEVER recommend this school to anyone. Go to a school that finds preceptors for you!
I really don't suggest going here unless you like wasting your time or money! I was screwed out of thousands of dollars and now I can't even finish my degree due to people not doing their jobs. My credit was also ruined due to all do the debt that I accrued.
School is very expensive. Teachers are nice but very demanding. You have literally to study one chapter a day and expect a mind blowing test that you will wonder where the questions came from. Adviser is nice however the school itself is a ripoff. They don't give you any money to use to print literature. Nothing and you are paying 2500 dollar per class. A rip off. Quality of teaching is absolutely poor. I have attended many colleges and this school and Devry is the worst. Labs lack materials. The school need real cadavers and not just cats and dogs to use for Human Anatomy classes. Try to avoid this school unless you have some money to blow.
Chamberlain College of Nursing is a frustrating and expensive. Currently I have a 4.0 average, but I have taken a session off to recoup financially. The school costs 2,000 to 3,000 every 8 week session and it is a poor learning environment at best. The advisers are ill informed of the school's own courses and woefully inept about returning phone calls. When I started my degree, I had some very direct questions about graduation rates and total student numbers attending the FNP program. Once the adviser realized that I would not be an immediate unquestioning sycophant, they took months to call me back. It is my opinion that they only returned my call because I posted something explaining the issue and being critical of the school on their social media site. (Call returned with in 48 hours of post on Facebook) Fast forward six month, my latest issue is that I signed into Chamberlain on the last day of my course to enter my assignment and reply. There was a hold link on my homepage. I clicked the link and it opened a hold screen in the Chrome browser. Technical support was closed, so I emailed the assignment to the teacher directly and she counted the grade. However because the assignment was not submitted through the portal it generated a online "absence". The teacher never responded to my email and it took a great deal of effort to find out that harshly worded "absence email" was computer generated and did not reflect upon my grade. I had paid the fees for the session, but the hold was still present. Ultimately it was determined that the continuing hold issue was not from Chamberlain, but rather caused by a Chrome memory. Had technical support been open, they could have directed me to clear the browser cookies and resolved the issue in a timely manner. Over all this is not the school for anyone working 60 hours a week. There is always a new fee or technical difficulty. The courses are rote and general in nature. For the first three sessions, there are no video classes. You read the book and answer the questions. Plan on writing 3 papers a session. Just follow the rubric, it is mindless. I had previously graduated from an AAS, ASN and BSN programs. Each one was a wonderful and meaningful learning experience. I looked forward to school every week, but I do not enjoy Chamberlain. I found myself you tubing assignments and watching the videos presentations from Dr. S. at UAB's School of Nursing. I thought that CCN was the most convenient option, but now I am 6,000.00 invested and I am having sincere thoughts about quitting. Do yourself a favor and go to another school. I am jealous of the learning experiences of my friends at UAB. Definitely a program of another caliber.
While working full time, and due to my employer's tuition reimbursement limits, it took several years of 1-2 courses at a time, while working on my RN to BSN. With only 3 courses left until completion, I am told that Chamberlain no longer will accept students from my state (Oregon), and that there is no recourse for me. Both myself and my employer are out THOUSANDS of dollars, and I am forced to continue elsewhere and take my chances on any completed course work, transferring. Very very disgusted!
The program needs significant improvement for the FNP program. Find another school. I am not disgruntled for grades- I hold a 4.0. The practicum coordinators are worthless. My application was submitted 6 months in advance and 2 weeks from when clinicals should start I am being told it isn't going to make the deadline. They hold site applications until 8 weeks before and then blame the other departments. I am now going to graduate 2 months later all because Chamberlain procrastinated, and that's if this is the only delay. I have other friends in the program and we all have the same problem. They do not have contact info available for students to go up the chain of command, only info listed is your state coordinator. If graduating on time is important to you, go somewhere else.
I am currently enrolled in the FNP MSN program at Chamberlain College of Nursing. I am looking for a school that will accept my courses for transfer (not too hopeful). I am unable to find a practicum experience and The support staff at for this is non-existent. I agree with another review here about this program and support. I did my RN-BSN at CCN and recommended it to many people. I graduated in 2010. I can say the support here has gone downhill. Student Services gets dumped on. My practicum coordinator is nonexistent. I requested a phone call. Got an email telling me to read the handbook for most of my answers which I had read it. I am just totally fed up. I don't have much hope of finishing my degree.
Misleading, incompetent on the phone at the beginning they'll purposefully mislead you, failing to mention hundreds of dollars EXTRA PER CLASS! Once you calm down about that, you realize for every single class they sign you up for two. I work F/T I only want one! "You are also currently enrolled in the Chamberlain Care Student Success Strategies course." Very frustrating place. Other reviews are spot on. Every phone call, class and question are organized as if you're their very first student. Try to attend a graduate program like this! You'd expect more given they're $1800 more PER CLASS than the highest ivy league nearby. I will be leaving Chamberlain, can't even call a simple department asking for a transfer without a telemarketer asking ME 100 questions which answers I don't have, and you can't just trudge through the class coursework without these side classes all over the place. How about a straight forward school like everywhere else? I'm completely UNDERWHELMED by Chamberlain's competence. Read other reviews, I'm not the first to note gross incompetence and gradeless busywork. There will be NO loan help. it's cash cow only.
For all of those reading this, please understand that I am not a student who failed a class, so NO I am not out to get Chamberlain. I am writing this, because there are several facets of Chamberlain that are unfavorable, and would not want another individual to experience these issues. For one, I was LIED to by the Admissions office, which did not factually inform me of when I would be able to register. After taking my HESI literally, four months prior to the following time they accept students, I was ignored by the Admissions Advisor for SEVERAL months. Secondly, the professors (a term used loosely) in this institution will NOT and I repeat, will NOT take responsibility for any wrong-doing, most of the instructors that I have encountered were EXTREMELY unprofessional; in fact, some instructors made crass and inappropriate jokes in the presence of students, arrived late to class, or texted while instructing the course. Lastly, do NOT make any attempt at bringing any troubling issues to the attention of higher beings, such as that dreadful dean. She will make poor attempts at rhetoric and the rem-mentioning of policy, to maintain the CYA code of conduct that Chamberlain College of Nursing Atlanta wishes to ever so greatly uphold. This is not a student writing this, that has failed a class, or is bitter, this is a student who recognizes GREAT fault and unprofessionalism. I beg of any person reading this, that is considering this institution, PLEASE try your like elsewhere... PLEASE. You're better off at Gwinnett Technical College's Nursing Program... At least youre not in as much debt and don't have to worry about the lack of accountability on behalf of staff. I will be returning to Gwinnett Tech, where these issues are not even a concern.
