Charter college needs to shut down - 10/13/2016
Degree: Medical Assistant
Graduation Year: 2013
"I was a single mother of a 1 year old and I was 20 yrs old back in 2013 when I did the medical assistant program. They sell you a dream about high paying jobs when in reality most local med assistant jobs were only offering minimum wage with no benefits unless you were bilingual. I paid my in school loans the time I was there in time every month and the month of graduation I was going to get my certificate and they said it wasn't ready needed the deans signature and she was out of town on vacation, that same month I lost my job and I owed the next month of payment , They never gave me my certificate at the end of that month when the dean came back because they said I missed that month payment . Hmmm but I should've had it the month I graduated when I was on time. The deans fault. Then let me add the forged my signature on a document saying I found a job in my field at a retirement home which I never did ."

"Charter College was proactive in helping me with anything that I had a problem with. When I failed a class they were right there asking what they could do better to help me succeed. Anytime I had a question, they were quick to answer. My degree made me the head Finance Officer for my City."

Charter College - 8/26/2016
Degree: Dental Assistant
Graduation Year: 2013
"THE WORST SCHOOL EVER. They did not give me an exit interview to go over my student loans. There was a federal I didn't even know about. They were sending my statements to North Carolina and I live/ went to school in Washington. I'VE NEVER BEEN TO NORTH CAROLINA. I had a loan through a private loan company called UNISA, Charter College took back my loan... then they sent it to a collection agency ACP. I have no idea how to view my loan now. They are not helpful AT ALL. I would not recommend this school to anyone, ever. Its a joke. Now I have no idea how to deal with my student loan because some sketchy debt collector has it and they threaten people by saying they will have them arrested if they don't pay by a certain time. I'm not sure if what Charter College is doing is legal. It needs to stop! Before more people are taken advantage of. They did not prepare me for the dental field at all. All they care about is $$ not the students. They have a high turn over rate due to the fact they treat their employees so poorly. This school should be SHUT DOWN. My advice to anyone thinking about attending Charter College, DO NOT ENROLL, RUN FAR, FAR AWAY!!! OH and did I mention that they say Charter College is an accredited school when they are NOT. So if you go to Charter College and later want to further your career, you will have to start all over, nothing transfers and Charter is not accredited to DANB. HORRIBLE SCHOOL. HORRIBLE."

"This institution is an absolute joke. I regret all of the time, effort, and money I put into this school. After seeing how much turnover they had with their instructors and the uninspired education I would receive in the classroom, I became fed up and left. Come to find out, this is not an accredited school so none of my credits would have been transferable anyway. What a scam! Now after years of making payments on student loans from this so called "college" they still sent a large sum to collections and I am now in a battle to remove this from my credit report. Please save yourself some time and stay far away from Charter College!"

"First off, the credits ARE NOT transferrable. They say they are "nationally" accredited but that's just a fancy term that they use and it does not mean anything! The turn over rate for employees are so high, every time I went in, there was a new person! I even video chatted with someone online because there was no employees for advising. The offices are literally open for a few hours, and when you ask them when you finally see them, they say "I was out for lunch"...yeah for 4 hours? Also, they promise they will help you land a job but all they do is have someone in Nevada send you job postings that you can apply to....how lame, I can do that myself! I told them that i could not apply to any of those job because they require more experience, the response: just try anyway! Charter college is so unprofessional and only want your money. It is a complete joke and the employees are all incompetent, they deserve to work there. When I complain, someone will reply and ask what campus I go to, how can they help? Generic responses that never get followed through! Horrible"

"Ive called financial aid at my campus twice this week and no one has called me back. Its so unprofessional and there is never consistently the same people on campus (high turn over rate) i had 100 percent of my school paid for with the GI bill and other grants and they sent me a separate bill in the mail for over 5 thousand dollars they ripped me off and double dipped. My internship was embarrassing ... They told me my school did not teach me or prepare me properly and offered me more time later to learn on the job because they felt bad for me because of my school being a scam... Now im getting a congressmen office involved so they can investigate ... because due to the gi bill they sent them so much money... I also had Pell grants that helped too and other grants... It blows my mind that they haven't been investigated or shut down."

"This is the WORST school. Don't waste your money. After being in the hospital for a week my instructors were more than difficult to get ahold of when I tried to get all caught up. They are the reasons I left. Now, every time I try and call because I did have student loans no one can return a phone call. If you ask me, they should just take care of them for me since it was THEIR fault. I'm tired of trying to figure this out (since they are ruining my credit and don't seem to care about that at all either) when no one cares enough to even return a phone call. DO NOT attend Charter for anything!!!!!"

"I recently called my campus asking for tutoring which has been promised to me since the day I signed up. The man that answered simply told me there is NO tutoring available for any of the classes in their Bachelor program. Not even for general education classes. PLEASE stop advertising that you provide tutoring. Its misleading and immoral to do so. I am earning my bachelors degree off of youtube and google while you guys collect my money. I'm rarely a disgruntled person and I really hate leaving bad reviews but you guys need to be more honest."

Degree: Paralegal
Graduation Year: 2016
"The Paralegal program is a joke! I graduated with a 4.0 and felt so good about that! I got a job in my field (not with help from school) but through people I knew. That job lasted one month because what I "learned" during school did not prepare me for the real world position! What I spent $20,000 for I could have learned by checking out books from the library or watching online videos. Of all the instructors I had, only one seemed to know what she was talking about and was actively engaged in our classes. I would urge everyone interested in this college to look at all options available. Charters representatives are very good at making you think they offer the best solution for you, but in my opinion, they are nothing but glorified sales people. If you decide to attend, double and triple check your financing information. On the phone I was told my total loan would be $11,500; when it was all said and done, it was over $20,000! They have not only the federal loans, but also UNISA which is private through them. Charter college is a scam college!!!"
