"Clarkson is a trip. Let’s begin. I am a transfer from a neighboring school. I originally came here for one purpose, to further my understanding of Biology and related fields. This was a big change for me since I had always been a relatively good writer. Going to the neighboring school allowed me to explore and maneuver through different fields of interest without losing sight of my undergrad requirements. So came my spring semester of my second year of school and I decided that I needed to move on to something more challenging, Clarkson was close to my sister, best friend, and significant other. My frost challenge with Clarkson was them only taking 12 out of my 60 credits towards my biology major. I knew not everything would transfer but 12 really? But I decided to stick it out to see how I would like studying here. The biology/chem TAs were so rude and the instructor made me feel like an absolute idiot every time I would ask questions. These people and the fact that I would spend 4 additional years as an undergrad made me change my major to Political science. From there the professors and the material were relatively interesting. The material was not conceptually challenging by any means, but the volume of work (outside of readings), was questionable. In fact I am sitting here now, doing an assignment that does not add or subtract to my education. I’ve found a lot of things like this at Clarkson. The stressful environment here does not come from the professors or the material, it comes from the isolationism, sexist, and dog eat dog mentality. No wonder this place is depressed. I came here with a 3.7 gpa. I left my first semester at Clarkson with a 1.9. Not one person has gotten ahold of me about this, I am at academic warning. This school has a lot of pointless hoops you have to jump through in order to be fine. Also want to live off campus? Good luck you are required to live on campus even if you are a senior. Do not go to this school if you want to get a serious education that pushes your strengths and builds on your weaknesses, they don’t care about your well being just the money in your pocket."

"Clarkson University was the best undergraduate experience. The professors are willing to share their knowledge and experience within the classroom setting and were always willing to go above and beyond for students. The course work is intense, but fully prepares you for graduation and immersion into the workplace."

"Incredible programs available for engineering, business and science- based. Since Clarkson is a smaller school, it allows for more opportunities for one-on-one interactions with your professors. All lectures are taught by professors with doctoral degrees and not by teaching assistants, which may be common at larger institutions. As freshman, most students take similar classes such as General Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus, therefore these class tend to be larger (>60 students). However, during your sophomore and so forth, it is not uncommon for lectures to have under 20 students. Clarkson has one of the highest job placement of all colleges in U.S., above 95%. This is mostly due to our incredible Career Center, who prepares us as freshman. We have 2 career fairs throughout the academic year, with hundreds of companies looking for potential students to join them in internships, co-op, and post-graduate jobs. These career fairs apply to all level of students, not just seniors. If you are planning on entering as any type of engineering major, to graduate from Clarkson, you are you require to complete one term of an internship or co-op. Not only is this great experience to prep you in your potential career, it is fantastic networking. It looks great on your resume for future employers and it is not unlikely for the company that you interned/co-op with to offer you a full-time position upon graduation regardless of your current academic standing (sophomore, junior, senior). All in all, if you want to part of an incredible environment, where faculty and staff are constantly working to better prepare you to enter your desired career field, I would highly recommend Clarkson University."

"Great experience. Very hands on. Flexibility with some classes, and the majors change with the skills marketplace and evolve to current needs."

"CU offers good programs in a small community. I plan to go back for my masters in environmental science and engineering in the fall. The teachers for the environmental program care about their students greatly. Unfortunately I had several bad experiences with civil teachers at Clarkson university. They didn't seem to care about the interest of the students."

"The courses were thought provoking and challenging. The research opportunities and availability of faculty were excellent. Professors care for students and push them to succeed. Location is not that great. Must have a car and there is nothing near-by in the small town of Potsdam."
