"First of all let me start off by saying COD does not offer a Dental Hygiene program,I was just trying to complete my GE there to transfer out. The counselors did not help me get the classes I needed, the actually placed me in lower level classes (so I can get used to college level course work), even though I placed in higher level classes. The financial aid department was terrible too, I attended COD for almost 3 years and my financial aid never set in, luckily I was working so I was able to pay for my classes on my own, but it wasn't until my last semester there that I got a check over $4000, for all the financial aid I never received. I took both online and on-campus classes. They really need to add more online courses to meet the demand of all the students. Also unless you have priority registration, you are not guaranteed any classes. I literally had to wait at my computer counting down the minutes until I was "allowed" to register or else I wouldn't be enrolled in any classes. The professors there are pretty average considering it's a community college. Overall I would only recommend this school for people who love to waste their time or are undecided with their degree options. Once you start here it is almost impossible to get out."

"I have had the best experience of my life through COD! From counselors to professors, I was given direction from every one I have had the pleasure to meet and work with. Every member of this college's staff has had every good intention of helping their students excel and succeed on their pathway of life."

  • Degree: Nursing
"I believe college of the desert gave me the insight towards my career as a registered nurse and motivation ton continue to further my education. I had exceptional counselors and staff that supported me throughout my time at college of the desert. I, one day hope to return to college of the desert and be a nursing instructor. Go roadrunners"
