Student & Graduate Reviews

"I graduated from my last degree program about 7 years ago. That degree is not worth the paper it's printed on. I have been trying to interview for entry-level accounting positions and no one will give me a chance. CTU said it had employment assistance and it was an education partner with my company, which were lies. NEVER got help in either area. There was a service to critique resumes and mine was just handed back to me saying its fine. No help there. I don't believe employers consider an online degree a valid one. Your best bet would be to go to some sort of technical school, go for a few months or year, apprentice, and be work-ready when you get out. I regret going back to school because all I'm left with this debt that I can't pay because my worthless degree and non-existent hiring potential (from the employer's point of view) leaves me at the same job that barely allows me to make the loan payment. I'm still stuck at a job that I hate and went back to school for nothing. If I sound bitter I am. Nothing in my life has improved for the better. CTU talks about how they can assist you in being successful after graduation but its all b***."

"I finally got to a point in my life last February 2017 where I was ready to start and complete a Masters program. I had previously started one then quit because I wasn't focused enough nor following the right path in life. I decided to take the leap one last time and now I am one class out from finishing this program. Even though it is fast paced, it's worth it. Typically your average Grad program is 2 years at minimum , I was able to finish within a year and a half nearly. The student advisors were helpful and checked in if either you may not post often or are not doing too well in your course. The tuition and financial aid situation was clearly explained and also was simple. I think a lot of those that complain about this school are those that either only started for a FA check or are not motivated enough to be an adult and do the work that it takes to succeed. I would have never thought I would say I am a class away from having my Masters, but I can now! Thank you CTU!!!"

"Rip off. For profit school that only wants money. My two year degree cost me thousands of dollars. They prey on you. After enrollment you are on your on. Its not worth it I promise. You cannot get your bill or explanation fo charges. Very rude and condenscending instructors and financial aid staff. They are all in it together guys. 3k for two classes! Not including books or misc fees. Hopefully they get shut down next for preying on individuals and ripping you off."

"I am a current student at CTU- I graduate on Aug 10th! However, I have already landed a job and start on Monday! The job comes with great benefits, great pay, and advancement opportunities! I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews! I started in Nov 2016 and was supposed to graduate Mar 2018- however, with fast track classes I was able to graduate early and SAVE money on tuition! I believe you get out of life what you put in! Good Luck everyone! I just felt I should share my success story. THANKS CTU!"
Accounting - 12/31/2015

"I received my bachelor degree from this wonderful mess of a school. The instructors are very easy to get a long with, that wasn't the problem, it was the fact that they are so slow to get things moving. I began a master in accounting shortly after I had ended my bachelor degree. Something felt wrong, and boy did I feel it. I took into consideration many things, and shortly after I began the master's program, I became sight impaired for a few months, and was dealing with it, however I could not continue and had to withdraw from the program all together, and didn't want to look back. I feel that I made a decent choice about the masters program and parted ways with the school just a few short days ago, but that is where things started going wrong, VERY VERY wrong. I went from a zero balance at the school to owing over $2,500.00 in just one day because of the withdraw. What!?!?!?!?! You mean to tell me that you withdraw from a university and take out loans that you pay for, that they can charge you for quitting when it was medically necessary. This school sent me an email stating that they wanted me to call them, and they NEVER answered the phone after being on hold for 10+ minutes. I know that it is 12/31/2015. DON'T SEND AN AUTOMATED EMAIL and then when the person calls IGNORE IT. So this school is such a joke when it comes to treating student correctly. If an advisor calls you to "start with CTU", RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! They don't do you any favors and the school is full of stupid people who don't know what one or another does. They make promises, and they never follow through. I think that this piece of paper that I have is very worthless, and wish I would have never heard of Colorado Technical University. Their motto is "Where Students Come First", have I ever seen this, Um-no. The Financial Aid process is such a pain it takes many phone calls to get things smoothed out, and it feels like you are harassing them, I called over 100 times a year to get things straightened out. The virtual graduation is a sham. Waste of your money. Run - Duck - and NO TO CTU."

"The degree plan is overall a pretty sad state of affairs, not only do I feel let down I truly have no ideal what accounting is. We really never did any accounting procedures throughout. The first sentence when the school answers is that students come first, this is another untruth I am a 4.0 student and have been for every quarter and yet they allow Professors to harass students with no regards to the student. I will never support any student that has made the decision to attend CTU! I will do everything in my power to sway them not to attend and throw thei money and hard work away as far as I can tell money comes first not the student!!!!!"

"Colorado Tech was an excellent way to earn my degree while continuing to work a 50 hour a week construction job. The CTU instructors were interesting, insightful and always ready to help when needed. After graduation I received three opportunities and selected an employer and a career path that was worth the hard work. You get out of life what you put in."
